Oh I have many Jade plants but have never valued them. Got them from pots from my mother’s garden when she passed. They seem to self seed or just take roots from broken off bits. My biggest one is about to bloom little pink flowers. I’m in Adelaide Australia and heading into winter. I better go out and love them a bit more 😊

I know right? I'm in Queensland and just about every house used to have jade plants I think. I have the small leaf one and another (several) with a larger leaf that gets small white flowers. Every leaf that drops, grows.

Greetings, Linda, Stewart, Lea & Phoebe. Love all you guys. Linda, we are thrilled with your greatroom/outdoor. CALIFORNIA LIVING concept, so spectacular, colorful and vibrant. By the way, your jade plant will sprout pink and white flowers occasionally and you can propagate it by snipping off pieces and placing directly in soil. You can keep the propagated plant as large or small as you like by confining or expanding its space.

Buy a pot heavy enough to keep the plant upright. The plants are top heavy. I have a very large one in my greenhouse bay window that I put in a heavy glazed pot. In a year’s time it filled the entire bay window. It is a show stopper. Even in the winter it brings me joy. It flowered this winter in my zone 7. I kept the greenhouse my husband made me at 56- 60 degrees. My lemon, jade, hibiscus and olive tree loved the special house.

I really love jade plants and have many, thanks to someone my mom worked with when I was a child who gave her cuttings. Thankfully my dad got them going, and now that I own the house I grew up in I have a short hedge out in front and many in large planters in other places outdoors. When they bloom it's gorgeous and attracts bees, butterflies and hummers.

Linda, I also have Jade plants. They flank my porch steps. I bring them in in the winter and they are no trouble at all in my garage. They get light from the windows there. I water them maybe two times during the winter as they don’t need much water. I live in Georgia. They look really pretty on my steps in the summertime because of the Chinese trim on my railings.

Jade plants are tough. I found a piece of one in a trash pile over twenty years ago potted it up and it lives on my patio against the house year round in zone 9b N. California. It gets neglected now and then but so far doing well. It reminds me of like an Irish bulb, throw them away of dig them up and forget to replant, find them later plant them and they survive.

Oh, I wish I lived near you. My Jade here in my California garden is as tall as you. It grows so wide, so tall and so dense, that I have to break pieces off all the time, and throw them in the green waste bin. Definitely blue bottles, which are my favorite. I also have a color scheme that goes from my glass walled kitchen out to my garden. Its lime/moss greens and blues. I love the minoen lace . I can't find the seeds near me. Boy it looks like yours have just exploded! I am sooooo jealous!
