Garageband for iOS 10 / 11: ORCHESTRAL SOUNDS! All very, very good
Музыка
Hidden within the keyboard menu are "Other Sounds", revealing a plethora of orchestral and world instruments, including a way of playing guitars and bass using the piano keyboard...
Some extremely good sounds here, augmenting the realism of GarageBand as a whole.
Remember people: this is a FREE app for iOS 11 users. iOS 10 users MAY be able to download GarageBand but via the app store on a desktop machine. I'm not able to help on technical matters here however - different devices, different iOS and different desktop machines make for a combination of potential problems!

Very informative once again Dan. Love that we have these sounds at our fingertips without a spit valve in sight!
Thanks alot Dan for sharing this.
Sir your videos are very helpful. Thank you for uploading new tutorials everyday.
Hi +Dan Baker, Great Video Tutorial on the Orchestral Instruments! I think GarageBand should have some more Orchestral Instruments such as Solo Strings, Chamber Strings, Ensemble and Full Orchestral Strings, Pedal Harps and Lever Harps, Harpsichords, Organs, Ensemble Woodwinds and Brass as well as Solo Brass, Tuned, and Un-Pitched Percussion, and Choirs, also Orchestral Apple Loops. The Mac OS Version actually has almost all of these other Orchestral Instruments already.
Thank you for this info.......
Bravo, Maestro.!
Forgot Hollywood strings under “synth pads”
Excellent, as usual! Whats the drum plugin during the Upright bass? I love his swing : ) Saludos from Argentina.
Your videos are very interesting and informative Dan. I recognise that upright base riff you used as an example- it's from 'The Prisoner ' !

Hello, this just came across my KZread suggestions. Nice sounds! Can I assign these instruments to separate MIDI channels from my keyboard (Keystep Pro)? Thanks!

Unfortunately the MIDI capabilities of GarageBand are limited to a single channel, and therefore you can’t split channels to sounds.

Ha!
Does Garage band on ios have more sound than Garage band on Mac?
Too bad the garageband with my iOS 14.4.2 doesn’t list any orchestral instruments in that menu, nor in the sound library, which seems surprisingly limited and wretchedly skewed towards electronica. Ten of the 22 “packs” are some kind of electronic music (wtf is nu-disco). There doesn’t seem to be an orchestral option in sight. I must be doing something wrong? All I wanted was a kettle drum. 😂

They should be under the “other” tab on the keyboard in the main window. I wonder if they’ve been removed on later iOS...
4:44 String Pizzicato, I can't find it in my garageband, where is it?
