I had my 2-car garage “professionally done ($2000). It looked great, and was a contributing factor in the ultimate sales a few years later. Never should have sold my house. You and your Dad will be glad you did this ultimate upgrade to your homes!
For people considering doing this to their garage, get a hand held seed feeder for the flakes, it helps tremendously to give even flakes.

Would you be able to provide a link to such a feeder?

I would love to see you guys restore the 99 Silverado! I just did my 03 over the last year or so. Tore it down to a bare frame, no bed, cab, suspension, nothing. Disassembled all of the suspension components etc, cleaned everything up, repaired anything that wasn’t perfect, welded on some beefier upper “shock” mounts for a coilover conversion I will be doing in the near future. Repaired any body rust on the bed & cab. Refreshed the engine & transmission with some upgraded parts. Replaced all of the old suspension bushings & cab mounts. And many many weeks later it is almost done, just needs a new paint job. Besides that though I’m very pleased with how everything came out. Im very happy that I took the time to do everything right, even without the new paint it’s still looking (and especially driving) WAY better then it ever has!
Nice job 💯👍, Prep is everything when doing this type of work 💪💯 , I'm sure he will enjoy it for years 😀👍
Great Father's day gift
yes please! can’t wait to see the 99 getting restored
Definitely would love to see a restoration on the og silverado

Everybody loves the old chevy. I had a white one but it was a work truck.
In process of doing this tore old drywall down new insulation and added tons of new outlets. Watching your videos to remind myself why i am doing this to myself again. Need the inspiration. Damn it's a lot of work. Hope it turns out half as good as your project

Tons of work, but well worth the investment! Keep it up!
Yes to the restore of the 99
I would like to see work done on the 99. I like all Chevy trucks.
Exactly 20 yrs ago I did my garage with a Rustoleum epoxy kit I got at Home Depot. It still look good except for tire marks. Now I want to refresh it with this kit you just used at your father's house. I will have to rent a machine to remove the old epoxy and prepare for the new one. BTW when spreading flakes you throw them in the air like confettis at a wedding. You can get spiked shoes for epoxy floor on Amazon for $16.
Chee yee! Another Hawaiian in Texas! Been looking at doing this on our new house. Mahalos!

Nice transformation!
Get that OG Silverado restored! She totally deserves it!
Yes do the whole truck
Look awesome. Now you should come to Canada and do mine!
Helped a friend do his 2 car garage we used the Rustoleum EpoxyShield with flakes and we did use the concrete grinder and we acid etched afterwards to make sure we had a clean surface and we put the Epoxy Shiled clear over it 12 hrs later it looked amazing we did use alot of flake 3 bags
I used Rocksolid in my basement when I finished it, I actually the same metallic finish as your garage... its been 7 years and still looks amazing and I find the durability superb.. I love it..
Excellent video just picked mine up today (bought extra flakes 😂)
This makes me want to do mine now 👍🏼👍🏼
Another vote for restoration of the 99!!
Go for it on the table!!!
Nice work unko! 🤙🏾
looks amazing. current house had this when i moved in, and it started flaking and pulling on tires. i'm not sure if they didn't prep right (did you acid etch this time?) or lack of clear coat.
It looks amazing.

Really great video and I especially liked the fact you and your dad did this together that’s awesome! I also really like his shelving he made on the sides, would like to see a video on that! Looks great! I just installed some garage ceiling shelving and what a bear that is to install by myself in Texas and in the heat! Thanks and both floors well done!
It’s a must to get it restored
Yes restoration!!!!
YES! Upgrade your dads truck! 🤙🏼
Rebuild the OG Silverado! That would be great content
Yes, do the 99 Chevy restoration ✌🏽
Absolutely would love to see your Dads truck Restored
Great job, quick question can I use this in my dirt bike trailer with is 6 x 10
Did you have any extra from the 2 2.5 kits? I have a 3 car tandem garage and bought 2 kits. Havent installed it yet.
Yes I would like to see 99 og restored and the 55 nomad restored to would be nice
Whats up man awesome video, I was wanting to put the clear coat Rocksolid on top however when I saw it was more expensive than the actual base coating I do not want to do it, kind of a three way question but my floor is a raw concrete, I am going to diamond grind it but do you think I need it is necessary to put primer and the top clear coating on after if I use the rocksolid product? Thank you
99 upgrade!!! Heck Yeah!!!
Helllll yeah... do a restoration broo
You should have invested in spike shoes that let you walk on the wet floor. You can then throw the chips straight up in the air to get a more uniformed chip pattern. Prep is the most important thing!
was 2 kits enough? what is the square footage? I've got 729 sq ft... Not sure if I need 2 or 3 2.5 car kits.
Yes do the restoration on the 99 chevy
Can i use this kit,if my garaje is some what with some paint,or have to remover until cement
Yeah the 99 restoration would b sweet!
2nd LOL. A good set of baseball cleats will allow you to walk all over a wet epoxy floor so flaking wont be an issue! You should also put a poly on top of it to seal it. Either way great job to you and your pops!!!

Do the flakes add a texture to the floor? Can you feel them?
Do you have a video about your ceiling lights for the garage?
Would love to see the 99 worked on
So did those paint rollers hold up better, I'm looking to do a metallic epoxy from rokrez, and heard that the rollers from purdy is the way to go
Did your dad end up putting a polyurethane top coat on it to make it more resistant to all his tools in there or was the finish naturally shiny? Looking to doing mine here in a few weeks!
What type of garage lights do you have?
Did u have to put moisture barrier on the cement before
Use twice the amount of product recommended and you will have amazing results.
Like to buy the motor as is and what is going on with the 55 in the background
Restore 99’ Silverado, heck yeah
Yes do the 99!!!!
Did u Dad use the grip additive or no? U think its necessary , or does the flakes add some grip?
I dumped all my chips in a leaf blower and blew them out it actually turned out good
Love this video. You’re very informational and honest about this whole process when you did your garage and your dads. Quick question..don’t those kits come with an etching part? It’s like a cleaner. Did you skip that cause you grinned the floor instead?
@jesushatesyoutoo

They do but grinding is the most important, I would grind, (degrease if needed), and then etch, Rustolium also makes a primer, Rust-Oleum 338806 Recoat Primer, Gray.
Yes do it. The truck will look saweeeeeet.
Yes help pops out
Great Job! I’m about to start my garage floor transformation. Quick question for you, how many kits did you use? I have a two car garage but I’ve learned from other DIY videos that one 2 1/2 kit won’t be enough.

Yes Yes, go for it.
How is that floor holding up bro I live in Crowley Texas and I need a new floor idea
So much much did this cost time wise and money between grinder rental and product???
I would like to see work done on the 99 Silverado.
It’s Poly right? Instead of Epoxy? Doing a 60 by 60 soon Think Poly will adhere better den Epoxy? With perfect prep ofcoarse! Looks best I’ve seen! Hard prep pays off !
Would love to see work done on the 99.
I would really like to see it. On the 99 silverado.
Absolutely restore the Chevy
Get that restoration done.

Would love to see the restoration of the truck. Also, leave the block raw metal with a clear coat, that would match your garage!
The parts of the concrete where it didn’t stick was most likely a low spot on the concrete and the grinder couldn’t get to it. You can get it eventually but will just take extra time. I do epoxy floors for a living.

@@gipppykaur1135 I doubt anyone who does epoxy floors for a living is using any of the Rustoleum garage floor products. There's a reason why having pro's do it costs anywhere from 2-3 grand starting. And if I'm paying that much I don't want my guy using Rustoleum either. It's a DIY brand and you get what you pay for.

Flakes look great. On a freshly poured concrete floor would I still need to grind it down to make the porous part?
@LonestarHawaiian
4 жыл бұрын
I believe you can just do an acid etch to open up the pores. We ground the floors down because of all the oil that had been spilt over the years.

The best way is to grind the concrete. Even though it’s brand new concrete you have to open up the pores. I have had to redo floors because the last person did a acid wash and started chipping up later after some where and tear. If your on a budget that floor system will be sufficient. If you are looking for something more durable and scratch free and have the money hire someone to do a professional epoxy floor. If you want to go that way I can point you in the right direction. I do epoxy floors for a living.
Yes rebuild the 99
About the most gloss I've seen from watching other videos. I'd need about 10 more bags of flakes tho LOL.
Never had a problem of stains on the floor from car tires!??

Why not put carpet tiles when you place items on the floor You should also put them under the tires
So it’s three years later….how is the floor holding up? Thinking of doing the same with my garage…but the negative reviews is making me pause. Thoughts?
Hell ya do a full resto on the 99
