Gangrel set himself on fire during The Brood entrance, Edge & Christian, Luna Vachon, The Hardyz

Ойын-сауық

Gangrel sits down with Chris Van Vliet for a conversation in person at the Independent Wrestling Expo put on by Fighting Words Promotions in North Richland Hills, Texas. He talks about the fangs he wears and how they used to be permanent, his wrestling school "Gangrel's Wrestling Asylum", how he once caught on fire during The Brood's entrance, what it was like working with Edge and Christian and then The New Brood of The Hardy Boyz, his memories of Luna Vachon, the blood he spits during his entrance and more!

Not sure what you mean, he was overweight had a bad knee wasn’t that great at wrestling, admitted to not being able to stay in character, want a great promo, and admitted to not understanding ring psychology. Sure the gimmick is badass but the wrestler himself, not so much.

Gangrel's one of the coolest, most chill dudes in the business. Underrated worker, too. I remember the RAW leading up to Summerslam in 98, Gangrel was taking on X-Pac. He brought the intensity and his work was crisp as hell. Real fun sprint they worked. Even though it ended in DQ, it majorly sold Gangrel as an unhinged different breed of cat. Bit of a random reflection, but yeah, keep fangin' and banging, everyone!

That's the thing the smiling with the fangs added to the character more because it looked evil to 15yr old me back in '98

Piece of trivia ~ Gangrel and Jason Neidhart were the last Stampede Wrestling International Tag Team Champions, when they won them on September 29, 1989. They held the belts til the promotion closed two months later.

“Amazon Prime Bitch!” Gangrel is one solid dude! He does some amazing work here in Oregon at the WCWC! I died a happy man, when I got to meet him. He was my all time favorite from the attitude era, and he’s given back to the wrestling community in so many ways! #FanginNBangin

I know this is gonna sound crazy, but out of any wrestling interviews, I always prefer to listen and watch Chris Van Vliets. He seems like the most coolest down to earth person you could ever meet. Great interview, and thank you so much for interviewing Chris, I totally love this dude!

Interviews with Gangrel and Vampiro are great. I just enjoy hearing them talk and reflect on things from the past. Not just those two but they do stand out to me.

Gotta love all the stories. Priceless. Would be cool if HHH brought back all Attitude Era guys just for a one show or two.
