I hope this helps someone. I had the dorsal type for many years, it was never painful, just unsightly. I would go to the gym every day and work out with weights regularly. On one of my off days, usually more cardio than weights, I went for a brisk walk on the treadmill with 5 lb weights in my hands. With my arms at a 90 degree angle I walked moving my arms with weights in normal form. I did this for 30 mins. The next morning the cyst was half the size and hurt... first time ever. The pain was not excruciating, so back to the gym I went that afternoon and performed the same exercise as I did the day before. The next morning it was completely gone... no cyst and no pain. I was elated. It never returned... that was over 20 years ago. All the best!

A very concise explanation of the ganglion cyst for wrists. I have a troublesome ganglion on the flexor tendon of my middle finger. Any chance you can make a video for these types too please. It's not so easy to find information about them. To say it drives me crazy is an understatement.

I had the volar one on my right hand and had it removed through surgery when i was 11. I got it when i was playing tennis and slipped my wrist on the floor. It was super painful at first and my hand was swollen. Few days later this ganglion appeared. It felt ticklish when i would press on the bump (somehow satisfying lol). After a month or two i had surgery and my only regret was not seeing the cyst itself being removed. Cosmetically the scar is not obvious but i find myself always pressing the site of my removed ganglion against the edge of a table because it feels somewhat nice 🤣

I have a volar cyst on my wrist. It appeared about 10 years ago. now I have a volar cyst on the same hand in my thumb. The discomfort is level 10. The one in my wrist did go down but is ever there and causes discomfort depending on how I move the wrist. The new one that formed on the palm side of the same hand is a reminder of just how painful the first one was. I at this time wish to have both removed. Oh my cyst is sooooooooo painful. Like i can barely move my wrist whe its flaired up. Its so painful. Waiting for surgeon to call and talk about removing it. The thing is it is not even that big. The look of it doesnt bother me. Its the pain. I cant put any pressure on my wrist or bend it forward at all.

I'm going through same, it's on palm side of my wrist and my hand got swollen and I'm unable to move my hand and I have my college final year thesis and exams next month, idk how to deal with it and even the surgeon told me it takes 15 days to completely heal after surgery

Not if this helps anyone but if o jusy hold my wrist up in the air for 15-20 minutes anytime I start feeling any pain, it just goes away and doesn’t come back for weeks

I have a volar type. I think i got it from always encoding paper works using a laptop, my wrist becomes so stressed everytime I use my right hand for typing and clicking the mouse or the touch pad of my laptop.

I used K2 vitamin. Went away in three months from my wrist. I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis from my chiropractor. Too much calcium. My back is %75 better. I’m not seeing in any videos the advice for vitaminK2.

I had it for about 4 months before I started getting worried, I had actually made an appointment this Friday with a hand surgeon. This past Monday as I was loading up a truck I pulled the tailgate open and it was a lot heavier than I thought. I tried holding it up with the bottom of my palm/ wrist and guess what!!! I felt pain immediately it went on for 8 seconds max then I looked at my wrist and the cyst had popped and as of today I am cyst free !! Thank the lord and that tailgate

Mohit Sharma No it didn’t resolve and it’s still there. It still doesn’t hurt and with Covid around, I haven’t been to a doctor in over a year. So I just ignore it.

I had one ganglion cyst on my left hand. But I’m having pain still . I went to ultrasound to get my left wrist and hand check. I had found out I have 2 ganglion cysts . One as dorsal and the other I have as a volar cyst . But small for now

I had one on my right wrist I had it surgically removed because it was connected to my middle finger bone

I have 2 ganglion cysts . One as dorsal and volar ., had one on hand left it was surgery treatment

I also have dorsal pain at first but I always massage and stretch it even though it hurts after a month it doesn't hurt even if I massage and stretch it, but I still worry every time I see it, maybe it's because I just exercised

I have this with arthritis in the same area and it hurts

I had this and it was kind of painful which made me hard to write so i had to do a surgery nad now its completely fine

My Cyst hurts like Hell on my wrist it aches all the time. I hate it , I can't write or send my hand back or move my fingers up. I don't know what your talking about, you should explore it and learn more about the Ganglion Cyst. 😢

I had one of these for years. Damn thing got bumped all the time and hurt like hell. Then my brother the doctor sees it and grabbed my wrist and squeezed the crap out of it which was ultra painful. But a week later it was completely gone and has never returned.

@@writerdeman I’m not condoning it but he put his thumb on it and pushed down. He had a hold of my wrist. Hurt like hell but can’t argue with results. It was about the size of a nickel.

I have had mine (volar) since 2009. Its the size of a pea. It doesn't hurt, its just annoying. I'm trying to slowly pop it with my fingers as i type.

Yes, don't pop it. It will cause it to fill up with more fluid. Try your best to keep that wrist free from any strenuous activity. If you can get some ace bandages and wrap it as tight as you can stand it. Hopefully it'll go down sooner than later.

I have a dorsal ganglion cyst on my left hand maybe got it about 3-4 years ago. When it first appeared it was huge and SO incredibly painful since it just grew overnight, I was so embarrassed about how it looked and what other people could see or even what they thought. I still have it, it hurts from time to time especially if I'm carrying heaving things so I try my best not to do too much with my left hand but then again I'm left handed so it's tough. It's gone down a lot now though. Honestly I love mine it's kind of a comfort for me as I tend to touch the cyst and move it around (not hard or anything like that) was wondering if anyone does the same???

Have the volar....does not hurt or affect the hand at all....just astetic wise looks weird.....it only hurts when I bang it on something....think I will leave it alone until it affects something....they seem to return after surgery anyway.

I already had a volar cyst removed from my right wrist (pinky side) because almost fully cut off ulnar nerve flow. I couldn’t pick up things and the hand was incapacitated. Surgeon did a great job. Now nearly three years later I believe I have another cyst on my left wrist which is ever so slightly beginning to mess with my radial nerve. I will be massaging this one thoroughly every day, but cysts suck.

I have volar too. Started 4 months back and got bigger. Doesn’t hurt, but just worried by the look of it.

I keep having a volar ganglion cyst appear over and over after I either pop the cyst or drain it and every time it causes me pain I’ve went to a doctor and they had me go to physical therapy where all I did was exercise my wrist and this did nothing so what should I do now because every time I go to the doctor they recommend me to a physical therapist

Larry Hunter I had surgery done on my volar cyst roughly 2 years ago and it just came back. Not sure what to do next.

I’ve had a dorsal ganglion cyst in my left wrist for years now and it regularly causes me extreme pain. It’ll get agitated and swell, making simple tasks very painful, like turning a doorknob or pulling up my pants.

@@Hans-de8du I've had surgery 2 times now, and just had my second one done 15 days ago and and guess what, it came back again I am so angry, and mine always causes me pain, and bad range of motion, the problem is most surgeon leave some remnant of the cyst stalk gets left behind. Or a bit of cyst sloughs off to seed neighboring tissue I will have to see a orthopedic hand surgeon or as a they call it a had specialist - I hope yours went well.

@@VishnuGupta-eo4gh it’s still a problem. By limiting activities that’ll cause it to flare up, I can reduce the chances of it getting all swollen and inflamed. However, with my line of work it still happens pretty regularly.

Got the volar one doing push-ups. Guess I have shit form and put too much strain on my palm. Literally finished push-ups and noticed it when I took a shower the very same day. Luckily its not too big. Will update this post in the future.

@@MrNoNameThanks Rip. I totally thought I replied to this comment. So basically I smacked it and never had a problem with it again. I went back to doing push-ups and it completely went away after being somewhat sore/discolored for a little while.

I've got one on my wrist volar but it's very small and doesn't pain unless I press it, should I be concerned ?

A surgeon wants to cut you open, it is his job, of course he wouldn’t recommend natural ways of healing, doctors are in the business of symptom treatment, not root of the cause or natural healing

I had a dorsal ganglion a few years ago, it was removed by a hand surgeon and that one hasn’t grown back yet. I’m hoping because it was done by a hand specialist. Now I’ve got a volar cyst on my other hand, only this one has grown quite large really fast and is much more painful. I’m going to have it removed too, but I’m going back to the same hand surgeon who did my other one a few years ago since that was successfully done. I’d always recommend a hand specialist when it comes to this kind of thing, hands are their specialty and they do a more thorough job.

@@Rohit-wy1vw I have had it from the past month too. A week ago I started taking ultrasonic therapy at a physiotherapy clinic. It's decreased in a little bit now and I don't feel much pain, although function is still hindered. I have tenosynovitis on the same hand. I think you should consult an orthopaedic surgeon right away. I understand that going to a clinic is difficult under these circumstances but I feel it's worth the risk. I have no wish to scare you but it's essential that you rule out arthritis or any other systemic illness which may be causing this localised swelling on your wrist. Please consult a doctor as soon as possible.

It actually went away...but came right back...so I left it alone 😔...and after about 3 weeks it disappeared on its own...these things are weird..but I use my hands constantly for work..and I know I'm probably prone to get another one...

My doctor told me to smash my Volar cyst with a book 📚 if it bothered me 😂 I love old family doctors! I'll tell him to order an ultrasound

In the past they were called "bible bumps" because of that--it's not a good habit to do it on purpose though because you can hurt your wrist if you hit it hard enough
