It's pleasing to me to see that text adventures are still going strong.

I grew up with myth, fantasy, and scifi...and choose your own adventure books. This looks super fun. I love how sharing stories within and across cultures, with people bringing new perspectives and interpretations can make those stories live, breath and bear new fruit.

The passion for the story and the depth of thought behind it, has me intrigued. I'm installing the demo. Thank you for this wonderful interview :)

With what we know from Hàvamàl, it seems, to me like it would be of most impotance to know your place in your society. You fit into a certain type of social group, based on either wealth, reputation or both and you act and think a certain way, accordingly to where and how you fit in. Kind of like Janteloven kept being part of Scandinavian mentality at least up through the 90's. And then no where does it say when it started. So, I think the stories, poems, myths and sagas from Norse mythology, even though they doesn't tell much directly about the characters trains of thoughts, they do however tell a lot through the characters actions, which type of person they are. Maybe that's simply just how people looked at each other back then. I mean, Janteloven have to start somewhere

Even as a Norse Pagan, I find that the ability to be able to make interpretations to the eddas and sagas, for these story/game telling purposes, are pretty awesome. I mean, the God of War Norse series essentially paints the Aesir as the bad guys, especially Odin (but I wouldn’t expect less, from the GoW series). Just really can make for some fantastic story telling and now you’re placing it about 125 years ahead of our time? I look forward to this. What’s the systems/release date?

I think it's butchering the mythos. Especially presenting angrboda as black. I need not explain how in Norse society the lighter your skin was the higher you were in the food chain. Light skinned people need not work in the sun, they stayed inside so they were most likely rich. Also, there were no blacks in Europe back then. Presenting the gods like this is butchering the culture and the mythos. It is a vile lie. But what can you expect from California studio? Oh and by the way, the game story makes 0 sense. Odin did nothing wrong and yet they killed him.

@@josephpercy1558 not sure what you mean. Norse means people of Nordic descent and pagan means someone who doesn't follow your traditional religious cults like Christianity. It is possible and there's lots of pagans. What's so hard to believe here?

That sounds like a simplistic view of both Christianity and paganism.

Probably will be addressed, but though the character's are free to chose, they are not free to change what happens, right? @20:35 soft determinism

Just discovered the channel. One pitfall could be creating a game without having much gamedev experience, sort of like those dry "educational" school games - compared to sth like Evropa Barbarorvm. - Adûnâi

A Norse myth inspired visual novel? Interesting concept. I was not expecting the Fate series to pop up on this channel. That was a treat.
