Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 Review (with Razer Yellow Mechanical keys) Vs Razer Ornata Chroma Review (with Mecha-membrane keys)…
Razer have two new key types, one is a SILENT mechanical Switch with a smooth linear action, they call it the “Razer Yellow” the other is a MEMBRANE key that has aspiration of being mechanical… they call it “Mecha-Membrane”…

I have been using a mechanical keyboard for years now and I will never turn back. However I don't believe there is a definitive best type of keyboard. It's just a matter of personal preference.

you didn't know what a membrane keyboard was? you've never used a computer in a school, or an office, or pretty much anywhere that has a windows pc? hell most stores have keyboards and they would all be membrane...

There are several key types including several "linear actuation" keys such as MX red and MX black. The new thing here is razor catching up with it's personal versions.

I love the razer ornata. It definitely has a great feeling and gaming is so much better with it because i dont like tall keys, it doesnt feel good to me.

Same Replaced my expensive mechanical corsair k95 keyboard with the ornata just because of the less aggressive travel (and louder noise) The comfy rest pad, the RGB and the compact size are nice bonuses too Definitely an upgrade imo

I agree, even though it isn't "mechanical" it definitely does not feel like a regular membrane keyboard that you would find in the library computers. I tried both and just find it more comfortable and sounding way better
good demo of the different colors. you can clearly see the linearity of the yellow when you press it, and the difference between click and tactile of the green and orange. thanks sir!
I've been using my Ornata Chroma for just over a year now. I still LOVE it. It hits all of my sweet spots. I feel like I'm super fast typing on it, and the color setting ability is helpful for me as my keyboard sits in a darker part of the room. My previous fave was the old Saitek Eclispe II.
Just today switched to a mechanical keyboard, mine is super clicky. The only reason I like it better is because I can hear the keys and helps me confirm the key press while I’m looking at the screen
Nice Review, and like everyone else says, your voice is very nice to listen to! =) You earned a sub!
Great video exactly what I was looking for thanks!
Picked up the Ornata Chroma back in August and I've love every bit of it
“And here we have the ferocious blackwidow chroma v2, this beautiful animal has the yellow and orange switches and a very nice a plushy pillowlike wristrest”
Ur voice is just soothing and relaxing I would love to hear an asmr of it
Thx for the advice Gonna go buy the ornata chroma soon
i just ordered the Ornata V2 and was so unsure about it that I continued watching reviews and this is all I needed to hear. Watching a couple more though
I'm still a fanboy of really thin and close keys.

I recommend the razer ornata, it is quite nice.
Having cherry switches right next to the mic while streaming as double kill you got gameplay and ASMR baby 😎😎
I got the same ornata keyboard 2 das ago, its verry good for gaming
I've been looking to buying a new keyboard thanks for this!
I'm gonna try this Membrane Ornata
Great video! I hope you put that voice to good work outside of youtube videos as well :).
I liked the membrane switches on my old laptop the best. The travel distance was a mere 1.5 mm, with a satisfying resistance at first that quickly gives way when pushed past the resistance point, all while making very very very little noise. Unfortunately I don't think they make desktop keyboards with travel distances this short.
cooler master has a key board with those mechanical membrane keys. master keys lite. I've got one. I like it. I haven't used a mechanical keyboard much but I wasn't I huge fan of them.

they arent as clicky or lovely to type on either. i had one and its definitely not as good as the ornata
You can now get the hyper x alloy in red switches, I have it now and love it!
btw nice review blunty love the narrative as well, Straylin?
loving my Logitech g910 keyboard with my Logitech g502 mouse
I really enjoy the blackwidow chroma x because of the Exposed metal top mounting witch makes is really easy to clean but the new razer blackwidow chroma v2 has alot of features that the chroma x dosent have like the armrest and usb and headphone slots so i was wondering if there is gonna be a blackwidow chroma x v2? or if it was possible to get the blackwidow chroma v2 with Exposed metal top mounting.
like the narrative, which stands out form other tube tech channels.
Just got a tenkeyless version. Loving it! I tried one in the store some years ago, there was no tenkeyless, but now there is. And it's great. Really love how tactile the switches are, you really know when you push them. ALso all mechanical keyboards I've tried makes my fingers hurt after some usage. But my fastest typing has been on mechanical switches, but not worth the pain for me. I tried o-rings, but it didn't seem to help in my case with the pain.
I've been using a corsair k35 at home and a cougar k700 brown at work for quite a while now and like both of them a lot.
Thank you . i got the cheapest keyboard membrane and mechanical cooler master l - lite memchanical ! You made my quality better i will use that
I love the feel Ornata with mid profile keys and wrist rest
I’ve had the Ornata for about a year. I *LOVE* that thing.
I have a Logitech G810 with the romer-G switches and I love it. My favorite mechanical switches.
Great video!
Currently have a tT Poseidon with Cherry blue mechanical switches. Having some major bounce problems with. Considering simply replacing it, so will look out for the Ornata.

Thanks to you Blunty I bought my HyperX Alloy FPS still using it and I am happy with my choice, it's a nice and compact keyboard and the best feature of it is the removable cable :D the quality is solid and doesn't feel like it is cheap. Must resist to try those two Razer ones in the shop or I'll end up buying them xD Thank you!
I like to use membrane but i would'nt mind using a kinda clicky keyboard. I just don't like playing games with loud key sounds in the back.
Time to upgrade my keyboard and I'm getting the Ornata, no doubt about it. thanks Blunty

Any chance you'll be reviewing the Razor Kraken V2?
I hope you're going to be covering the GTX 1080Ti can't wait to put that beast in my computer
the only type of mech keyboard i've tried is green and from the few years that i've had it I LOVE IT even with gaming its nice 2 feel that im pushing down a button
Hearing the keyboard clacking is one of my favorite things on Twitch streams...
This old review just reminded me KZread hasn’t put a buntys video in my feed in years. Looking up my old keyboard and here I am, realizing it’s been over three years since I thought of blunty I can’t believe KZread did this to me
I'm after a new keyboard after quite a few years, however everything these days seems to be mechanical. I'm rather dubious I will like them, since I dislike heavy keys and certainly don't want a loud clacky keyboard. I've used Logitechs since the 90s and really love their key action, but all their new keyboards have gone mechanical (and removed the LCDs I loved the G15/19 for). You do suggest going and trying them in store, but I live in a small town where such is not an option. I'd have to travel over an hour away just to get to the nearest electronics/computer store, and it is highly unlikely they'd have any 'gamer' type keyboards in stock, or any on display even if I went to the effort. Kind of sucks, but that's what I get for living in regional Australia. Still, it seems mechanical switches are here to stay for gaming keyboards. At least these new ones you speak of are quieter. I may have to check out razer's lineup and see what they have with macro keybanks and whatnot. The more keys the better for me. I loved Logitech's G15/19 G banks for that reason.
Probably should of looked at this before I got my black widow yesterday

Nothing better than the sound of a mechanical keyboard
I prefer the ornata because some mechanical keyboards is just too responsive. I like to use some force when i’m typing or gaming
@bowlcut3541

Stian Larsen “too responsive”
I prefer Corsair K70 with the MX red keys. Razed switches are ok, but personally the MX are better. I didn't try the new Razer keys but for me the old Widow green keys were already too soft compared to the MX Red
I don’t know why but i love this dude’s voice its so satisfying
I absolutely love the Ornata.
i have the orange switches, they work nicely for gaming and typing.
which one has the fastest rebound speed. Ive been looking for a keyboard for gunz private server got to get my tbf's lol
@harrisontabor3335
7 жыл бұрын
if you are looking at the fastest switch it would be the razer yelllow switch witch actuates at 1.1 mm vs the cherry mx speed at 1.2,i would get a k70 rapid fire over the razer blackwidow v2 as it has better build quality and is pleasent to type on
In all my local stores it was torn down with all keycaps missing... same as all other display keyboard 😅
as long as it keys in the characters to the computer.... works for me
i love my new mecha-membrence
I personaly tried out both a mechanical and a membrane keyboard and i prefer the membrane one or the yellow switch because i like l8 night gaming and since i still live at my parents house and a mechanical click is just loud and it annoys me.
Using the g19 10+ years still going strong and very good for gaming
I need membrane keyboards: I have cats that she's like hell.
Silent actually tactile switches are a very good premium alternative to rubber domes like boba u4 or outemu cream yellow switches or niz switches which are premium rubber domes
Your voice is so damn soothing. You should do documentaries lol.
I have mechanical but use membrane sometimes when I get annoyed of the switces
I'm using Blackwidow Chroma V1 Razer Green Switch, and it is the best keyboard I have ever use
i prefer mechanical keyboards because the feel when you push down the key is nice and feels good and you cant get a ton of switches of YOUR choice clicky, quiet, tactile and more whatever sound or feel YOU want there is something for you
I almost have both of those keyboards. The blackwidow chroma v2 on orange keys for home and recently purchased the ornata chroma for work at 50% for $50 lol. In terms of typing i think i can get greater speed on the ornata since they are mid size keys. Which is more satisfactory? The orange keys, but not by much. Its mainly the full kep cap size that gives it the edge. For the ornata if you dont hit the bigger keys near the center for say the back space or shift keys, you'll miss that satisfactory clicky feel. I love the black widow chorma v2 especially with the side programable keys, i don't believe they make this particular one anymore. But i probably wouldnt care to go for the orange keys if this ever broke and needed a replacement.
i’m gonna get my first mechanical keyboard in less then two weeks…any tips?
i enjoy the membrane feel and the sound of it... i despise mechanical keyboards from the bad click to the uncomfortable feel... and no hybrid keyboards don’t count
@Kacpa2
Жыл бұрын
You dont need to have clicky switches. There are lots of linear and tacticle silent switches. They will make a tiny bit of sound but wont click. These are also far more reliable than membrane and repairable. Its impossible to repair a membrane keyboard, while you can easily swap out faulty keyswitch as its a self contained moving part.
If you're looking to get a keyboard, look no further than the Ornata. I've had the first iteration of that keyboard and I can confidently say it was the best typing/gaming experience I've ever had. It's fair to say I'm planning on getting the Ornata V2
you're almost at the level of Jeremy from Grand Tour with your voice

I have a Razer Cyanosa Chroma(death hadder elite) but i like the sound of mechanical keyboards
No 2ndary keys backlet, (not for me) I'll take the ornata thank you.
And then there's me: happy with my deathstalker. Key backlight, slim switch and relatively silent. I'd prefer a non-Razer device, but it seems like they are the only company offering such a keyboard. at least I didn't find another one
@nseal19

Haha same here been using my deathstalker for years now but have recently been interested in getting a mechanical keyboard. Just so undecided on which one to get. I've also tested the ornata and it was amazing.
I LOVE MEMBRANE keyboards have th logitech g410 razer blackwidow and a Blackweb Centaur (membrane keybaord) i would perfer the membrane keyboard any day
Very deserving of a sub
I tbh prefer membrane switches over mechanical, because as he said, they are more quiet and I am not that comfortable with Mechanical ones.
For some random reason I like the mecha membrane more than the huntsman elite!
I had an hp keyboard with rubber domes before and there is absolutely no comparison from membranes to mechanical keys. I now have a Redragon K552RGB and the MX Blues are insanely better than the shit domes of before
Wait does David Attenborough have a tech channel?
Didn't really think there was different kinds of clicks on keyboards and that people cared until this was in my recommended.

What makes me choose membrane is that currently mechanicals are just too loud
ur voice sounds like a movie trailor or a narrator in that one movie
