Even though you're right about too many guard teams, what if there was a Catachan versus Tyranid Kill team box set with jungle themed terrain
@BigFrenchNose

That would be dope but don't think it fits the theme of into the dark. It would be for season 3 if ever and I don't think they'll wait that long to put some tyranids into kill team.

I think it’d be awesome to be able to take a daemonhost in an inquisition kill team
I know Jay is sick of Guard, but honestly it's probably the best way to reintroduce the other regiments back into the 40k line. Having a box set where you can build either a catachan kill team, command squad or regular guard squad with some sculpts that can interact with things like the new AM heavy weapons kit would be really cool
I want to see more specific Kill Teams, like Gregor Eisenhorn, Ravenor, Caephus Cain with Valhallans & Gaunt with Ghosts.
@JamesVWorld

My Gaunts Ghosts are still sealed in the box, I just need them to be made into a legit Kill Team and those beauties would be painted up in a flash
So Deathwatch is THE original Kill Team and I think a bespoke DW KT would be amazing. Similar to the Kill Team Cassius box from 7th Ed, a bunch of unique, named space marines from different legions.

I'd love to see a radical inquisition kill team. An inquisitor with some kind of daemon weapon, daemon hosts, and various henchmen and experiments. Very fluffy and a throwback to their old inquisitor game.
I'd love to see more dark eldar, beast masters, wracks, or mandrakes. All would have a very kill team feel different to the compendium Dark Eldar

A big box that I'm kind of surprised hasn't been done yet would be a Chaos Gate Daemon Hunter box with Gray Knights vs Death Guard. Both are still only compendium kill teams and the Gary Knights could definitely use some new minis.
Grot rebellion killteam led of course by Da Red Gobbo would be so much fun, coming from fantasy where they're their own faction to nothing in 40k still hurts.
How did you forget the Grey Knights. We are in the same situation as the Custodes, but we actually need new models. Ours are horribly out of date and a kill team whould be a god send
@jananay2768

A full range refresh would be wonderful, but it’s probably too much to ask. A kill team, however, would be more than enough
@ChimpOnComputer
Жыл бұрын
Their terminators look so outdated lol
I agree that Custodes need some love. They could even have the Shadowkeepers be front and center since they scream Into the Darkness most
Ow boy, Kill Team has a ton of potential to really dig into the smaller, more unique elements of the universe. Just the smaller, more specialized stuff like Kroot, Eldar Corsairs etc. etc. I'd personally really like to see something new for the Tyranids, a return of some sort of Inquisitor with retinue, a T'au specialist unit (Gue'Vesha, Vespids and/or smaller Empire races, Farsight Enclaves), a Drukhari Beastmaster hunting party etc. etc. etc The Grot idea is also really flavourful, which reminds me I still need to paint up my full Grot force from the previous edition. Weak as can be, but just a fun conversion project.
I agree with you when you say that there´s way too many IG teams, and Nids would really benefit of some Kill Team attention...............HOWEVER, hear me out: Catachan-Vs-Tyranids C´mon It´s Commandos and Alien/Predator! Both need some new minis, it´s a great idea and a great chance!
I would like to see an Adeptus Arbites Kill Team. Maybe using the Necromunda Enforcers with an upgrade sprue.
@gholamdapantaloonsniffer8218

We're getting some arbites models!!!
I believe they will bring a Tyranid kill team with new sculpts for gaunts or genestealers. Kinda first taster of the rumored 10th ed range refresh. Also it's a shame that Deathwatch is still first born compendium team and for some reason regular Intercession team gets 14W and all skills for free.
My idea for the Tyranid kill team is bring some of the unique genestealers from the space hulk games. Death wing and tactics
@bastionofdeus6612

Wouldn't be suprised if that would be how they release the new mold.
im really itching to build a death guard killteam because i LOVE the plague marine models but i feel like its going to get a white dwarf team the *moment* after i finish it
@stevenschnepp576

So take one for the team (see what I did there?) and build it.
I wanna see them make stuff that will never get a full codex release, like the Hrud or something weird like that. Also a classic recreation of the original Space Hulk is NECESSARY at this point
custodes in lore sometimes go undercover (how when they are 9ft tall idk, but they do) without their armour out in the galaxy what they could do is a "custodes scout" kill team, lighter armoured custodes (like the sword hq guy) who still have their power and strength but maybe their gear is better suited to infiltration type stuff instead of being massive suits of golden armour 2-3 custodian "seekers" (or whatever you want to call them) and 4-5 sisters of silence (also in a more sort of undercover/stealth getup), or just 4-5 of the custodians would give them a new forward deploy "action monkey" units for 40k as well, and custodes REALLY need more models, they have like 4 kits
@jacob-2271

"Me below average height but still pretty big dumb ogrin and not suspicious at all"
One thing that’s always bothered me about custodes from a model standpoint is the lack of individuality. A new sprue with unique weapons and bits to add on to the custodians
I want a Tau Auxillary Killteam (Though this does link into Tau needing more models anyway), 5-10 models, each a totally unique race from Tau Lore. Would be great for creating some new Xeno species with interesting rules.

I'd like Tau that could take a mix of Kroot, Vespids, humans, and maybe some other aliens.
Man, I love your enthusiasm for the hobby. Great energy. Every time I watch your vids I get inspired to chip away at my many boxes. I think a killteam based on the Darktide game would be so sick.
I love the gretchin idea. Maybe they could have some rigged squigs. Gretchin and squigs, just like those early battles in Space Marine.
I made myself a whole kill team of Kommando Grots, as if a bunch of grots had looted some Octarius battlefield after a good crumping. I think they're really cool and full of character!
i'm so glad you're so into killteam because it is also my favorite of GW's games, and by a lot
I’d love a WarCom First Born killteam much like the Intercession team. Something that adds a little depth to the first born. Other than that I’d love a Dark Mechanicum, maybe a heretek and a bunch of chaos corrupted robots.
I'd love to see an Inquisition Kill Team. Something that refreshes the current minis, or at the very least combines a few to make a one-stop-shop retinue in a box. Something like an Inquisitor, maybe an assassin, enforcers, or some other 'grunt' type minis.
I'm also sick of humie teams but I would love to see kill teams made up from our favourite books, things like Caiphus Cain leading a kill team you could make up from various members from all his books or Gaunts Ghost getting rules, Eisenhorn, maybe an Arbites and PDF team would be really cool too. Haven't read/listened to many xenos books so I'm not sure what notable teams could be made up from them but I really think it could work.
Ya know,I like this whole posts videos at 6am thing,gives me something to watch and unwind with after work
The beast master was probably my favourite unit back in 3rd edition and still holds my love today, alongside the Incubi. Kill team is the best place to put it if they plan on killing it from the Dark Eldar codex.
Makes more sense to me for a Votann kill team to be a brand new unit, some kind of elite stealth/infiltration unit. They have such a small range it makes more sense to expand it than bring in an existing unit
I think Tyranids would be hella dope, but I'd like to see some Kill Team options that made them more like individual characters: specialized mutations and bioweapons, similar to Ork Kommandos, as well as bits to increase individuality between models, like Old One-Eye but for gaunts and lictors.
Spores would be a cool addition to a tyranids kill team
I'm running a Kill Team of Palanite Enforcers and using the Space Marine Scout Compendium rules. You get Bolters, Shotguns and 2 Snipers. All I had to do was convert one to carry a heavy Bolter, and that was easy to do. Love Kill Team so much
The only "problem" with the bespoke teams and the compendium teams is the big difference in power level. The bespoke teams are almost all simply much stronger and more versatile than those from the compendium. That's why we often play compenidum against compenidum or bespoke against bespoke, it works wonderfully.
I shouldn't be up this late to be early to this upload. It's 4 AM, yo.

To piggyback on Dark Eldar for kill team, even if they just released a good updated court of the archon box would be awesome. They include sslyths, Medusa and urgul
some new eldar web spider models would be sick
I'd love an incubi killteam, such cool models
A Drukhari kill team with a homunculi leading a team of wracks and some lessor forms of pain engines or Cronos would be amazing. Just a shambling, pale, PVC clad, BDSM kill team. I'd dig that.
Also a unique team of the eldar would be the aspect warriors, 1 of each of the aspect, new sculptures for each. Unique to be sure
What I would love personally as a craftworld player is a Dire Avenger kill team similar to the Corsair team so that for large 40k it can be built as either an elites or troops choice, because Dire Avengers getting moved to elites was quite possibly the single most frustrating thing I've experienced in my 2 years in the hobby.
Wow I can't believe you suggested the thing I want most out of 40k, more grots! My Deadzone team is nearly all grot snipers and stuntbots (goblin mechs). I'd love a similar list in Kill Team I've been trying to find proxies for the ork Kommando but it's not quite the same. Grot "snipers" is great. Personally I'd suggest a grot tank to supplement them, because a Grot tank doesn't need to be any bigger than a chaos ogre (or any stronger) and one big guy with with a bunch near useless grots to support sounds great. Alternatively (and more likely) squigs make for good complementary units for grots.
I try to think in box sets so I want to see Deathwatch get out of the compendium, considering they are literally called Kill Teams, Vs your Grots. Voltan Vs Tyranids. Grey Knights Vs a Voshtarr or Bel'akor demon faction. Finally Aldar vs Druhkari.
I really like your idea for Votann and a double kit plus an extra sprue. Make 6 floaty robots, 2 iron kin, and 1 iron master. Extra sprue for some KT upgrades and variations. And you've just got an extra master to kit bash. Maybe if the kit allows you can make it a generic kin support alongside the iron kin. So a 9 or 10 body team. Not a big team but not a really elite one
I really think that if GW doesn't use the opportunity to introduce new Primaris Terminators in a Space Hulk-themed box vs. Tyranids, they're really missing out. The nostalgia cash in, FOMO for new Terminators, and new Tyranids would make the box a best-seller.
We need more Guard kill teams. Catachan devils, Tallarn raiders, Last Chancers etc. It's the best way to bring back guard regiments
Is there an assassin kill team? A 4 model execution force could be great
@bionicgeekgrrl
Жыл бұрын
Probably just need one with some other chaff to be distractions for their target.
I think a demon kill team from each of the four gods could be interesting,also just for laughs a grot kill team could be quiet something different.
Votann box sounds like a great idea! Enjoy your enthusiasm Jay, keep up the good work!
for votann i did some research and decided that for until a real team is added, running them as kasrkin would work, sure the ability isnt all that votann-y but maybe just call it "judgement points" or something for the fluff and you are good (this would of course be for hearthkyn warriors)
One thing that kill team allows is the mixture of faction and the like I say use a book focus style like Ciaphas Cain can have guard and or Tau.
Haven’t tried to play Killteam yet, but would love to use my 1999 Col. Schaeffer’s Last chancers as a team - could make some truly narrative battles.
Kill Team is really the place to release more obscure factions or very specific low count units. I would love to see a box featuring genestealers against the fallen. Among the other teams I would love to see are the grey knights and thé ordo malleus, deamon engineers of the dark mechanicum and diggas !
Just started playing KT21 and it's been an absolute blast. Side bonus it allowed me to use my languishing Harlequin KT for something again. I'm picking up Shadowvaults so I I'll have other teams soon. I 100% want a grot KT list! Inquisition would be amazing as others have said. I'd also like to see an Emperors Children based chaos list with at least 1 noise marine. Since World Eaters are getting some love a Berserker list wouldn't be remiss either.
I love the Grot Sniper idea. Itd be interesting if they were all always counted as concealed like the commando grot and are equipped with silent weapons.
Spacehulk Deathwing had a whole bunch of genestealer variants: invisible genestealers, exploding genestealers, BIG genestealers, exploding invisible genestealers… etc. they could make a fun kill team
I think space marine scouts specific to death watch could be cool. One we’d get new models, we get more lore for death watch, and we could get unique weapons.
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Only thing I'd disagree with on the Imperial one.... GW just give us Kill Team rules for Gaunt's Ghosts!!
@klyk69
Жыл бұрын
I'd also love if they make some kill teams for special regiments like vostroyan firstborns
At HH novels custodes have some kind of butler who recharge his weapons in the middle of the battle, I think that would be a nice complement for them...
The non forge world custodian range is pretty slim. Adding a new custodian guard kill team would be a great chance to buff out the range. Custodians are now doing more then just sitting around Terra, so you could base a 4 man squad around some mission objective that a custodian would probably do. Like maybe a team sent to capture a very dangerous target alive or deliver so kind of message or important artifact.
hey i have that same skull sticker in my minis display case! i forgot the company do you remember?
Noise Marines! Imagine the awesome variety in models and instrument-weapons
Jay, I agree with you 110%!! Where are the Leagues of Votann kill team? When they first hinted at the new Into the Dark Kill Team box set being set on board a Space Hulk, I thought the LOV would make their debut.
A four man wraith team would be cool-even 1 of each type. Maybe 18-20 wounds per model. A two 30-35 pt carnifex team would also be awesome.
Kill team is an ace place to explore new races and ideas, especially the space hulk setting. I am hoping for some completely new races to appear

Or one from 1st edition like the Hurd/space shaven or slann/old ones
Kill team (and warcry and underworlds as well as necromunda) really gives gw a licence to go nuts and they definitely do for necromunda sometimes. I think a 40k version of underworld is possibly needed for balance too.
I've never been able to get out of my head a Fallen Kill Team. Just a fantastic idea. I've also been staring down those Khorne Berserkers, wanting to make a Kill Team of them for a while. I can't wait to start turning battlegrounds into strawberry milkshakes with those chainaxes. Also would love a box that's just 9 servitors and a junior Tech Priest. The Skitarii have their love, but the Cult Mechanicus don't get much. Would be a great benefit to a bunch of 40k armies as well like the Guard or the Space Marines. Speaking of Space Marines, it blows my mind we haven't seen just straight up Primaris Deathwatch Veterans for Kill Team. They're the root of this whole thing and they're still kinda languishing with compendium rules and old sculpts.
*nodding along* "Yeah, that'd make sense. Yeah. Yeah. Grot... snipers????" Genius, I need them immediately.
I love that every one of Jay's war reports is of him losing. But damn if he didn't have the best time doing it.

A dark eldar beast master kill team is definitely something that might get me into playing dark eldar, even though I haven't even played kill team yet...
Hi Jay- please please please could you do a video on your favourite black library books and where I might start- the times you have mentioned these have wet my appetite and I would love to hear your opinion. Thank you for all the content.
Brave Little Toaster reference; I’m sold!
I'd love a Court of the Archon Kill Team. Right now you need to try and mostly fail to find them on Ebay or convert everything. I think there's a good chance the next Gallowdark box will be Dark Eldar, though, and I hope it features all new models.
I would love to see a Custodes Eyes of the Emperor kill team. Lightly armoured, clad in cloaks and utterly badass. Like a squad of huge James Bond superspies.
New rules for Tau stealth suits would be great... extra apl or bonus free dash to make them more playable against other bespoke teams. 4 stealth suits + 4 drones (or 3 drones and pathfinder drone controller) would be interesting.
I do love Killteam, It allows you to play in the 40k universe without the need to build large model count armies. As for killteams that I'd love to see come to the game... KILLTEAM - Deathwatch - give deathwatch veterans a primaris version, similar to how the Black templars got new and improved Crusader/Sword Brethern squads. - They can act like Intercessor veteran squads (rifles or Pistol/sword) but with options for members to swap out weapons from other unit types. Examples would include plasma incinerators, pyreblasters, fragcannon, infernus, combi style boltcarbines, shields, etc... maybe even tactis portable weapons like the meltarifle, accelerator AC, missile launchers. KILLTEAM - Inquisition - borrowing inspiration from the heretical Bloodied team, 1 inquisitor (carapace) or 1 Inquisitor Lord (artificer armor) with options to be psyker, 10 operatives to go along with them - These operatives you would pick from Inquisition troopers (think scions/Kasrkin) henchmen (crusaders, techadepts, hospitallers, psykers, etc...read 3rd edition Daemonhunter/witchhunters codicies), or special ORDO specific operatives. - Depending on what ORDO that you take you can take...OR make each ordo it's own killteam. Malleus - Grey Knights (marines would take up 2 operative choices) Hereticus - Sisters of Battle Xenos - Deathwatch (marines would take up 2 operative choices) Let's be fair I'd love to see some more love to all the compendium only teams so that they can all get their hands/claws/tenticles on some new models. Also I agree that Leagues of Votonn need to be released in the KT. HAPPY HOLIDAYS you fine folks out there and everywhere.
Grots/gretchin could be combined with some squigs. That could make it amusing. They could cheap it by just using some of the AoS models.
I cracked up with the brave little toaster reference 😂 My regular kill team opponent agreed to let me create Gaunt’s Ghosts as a playable team. It went through a couple play tests before we decided that they would work and each member has their own special rules to make them unique. Their low model count was an issue for our earlier test games so I proposed that letting them bring a fire team like their compendium counterparts was acceptable and not a game breaker.
Votann Hearthkyn Warriors seem to be ready-made for a White Dwarf kill team just out of the box, maybe with a special Hearthkyn Pioneer option. Either we'll get an updated Compendium option (Which seem unlikely), or they'll show up in Annual 2023 as a Kill Team like Intercessors did. At least that's my guess. Alos... MOAR GUARD, not less. I'd still like to see Guant's Ghosts get bespoke rules like the Starsiders did, or something like that.
I think a Gretchen sniper kill team is a really cool idea, but to balance them out, they should have tissue paper armor, with the trade off being that they are considered completely in cover whenever they are in cover, regardless of the orientation of your opponent's units, and that they can shoot on conceal orders. Absolute garbage stats, basically only hit on fives and sixes, with six being the only real damage dealer that does something like for a command point to ignore feel no pains or something like that. They should also have a strategem where if they are within circle of a runtherd, the runtherd can activate to throw a Gretchen 3d6 in a direction, which for that activation would give the grot the fly keyword. Any terrain it passes over requires a dice roll, with 1s thrown stopping the grot at the terrain, but requiring an armor save and potential damage from hitting the wall. A high risk, high reward football toss to reposition a unit into cover or into an objective, with the chance to kill the grot on failure.
for Votann, to introduce a new Troops option that is in a similar vein to the Immortals for the Necrons or Kasarkin for the Guard, I want to see an "Ironkin Hazard Team" a squad of five uparmored Ironkin armed with Volkanite rifles, Bolt Shotguns, or Hy Las Autoguns, alongside BOARDING SHIELDS. fluff the shields as being super duper dense despite being so seemingly small, and use that to justify a stupidly good armor save.
An assassins kill team boxset, wouldn't mind chapter specific kill teams, Ndsassar tau auxiliary boxset
some sort of eldar kill team with a bone singer would be cool. They could fortify barricades, have some unique psychic powers. I always thought they were one of the most interesting parts of the eldar lore since dawn of war haha
Tau Crisis Kill team i think would be cool and rules to use the Necromunda Squats Team in Kill Team would be cool too.
I want a revised Death Guard kill team.
I would really love mindshackled necron team with cryptek and minis from other factions under his control.
Rogue Trader, Inquisition KT with Ravenor and Eisenhorn.
I would love a space wolves kill team, with mabey a mix of blood claws, grey hunters and long fangs
For custodies, games workshop released a blade champion which if turned into a different squad I could see becoming an interesting kill team
Hope the votann killteam is something new that can then be added for infantry options in big 40k. Unmounted Pioneers with their shotguns would look cool.
I'd love to see a few more Guard teams personally. Catachan Jungle Fighters vs Tyranids Armageddon Steel Legion vs Feral Orks Penal Legion vs Chaos Cultists They're three of the kill-team sets I'd love to see.
I'm still a bit miffed about the mess that was shadowvaults since I liked the updated necron kit and how the carskin looked. I even wanted the terrain sincee I have yet to paint any.
Yay here before 900 views! As someone who loves knights, new to warhammer and interested in killteam, can I use knights at all?
I know there is no chance but I want some eldar in Killteam, Corsairs are a bit more on the Dark Eldar side, good eldar folks don't go thieving and raping. Maybe some banshees, rangers or spiders?
The Glacial Geek did a for fun battle report using all Gretchin that was really entertaining. I could really see them being a good fun team.
