all hobbied you learn things ,skateboarding is a "hobby" but you learn discipline become more resilient and more endurance , more perseverence you can carry that to any area of life, video games teach things for brain power , history, hand eye coordination , nothing is pointless actually.

That's about exactly how my list is as well and I never pre-order games but I've already pre-ordered Hogwarts Legacy on PS5 and PC. I wouldn't have done that to be honest and was just going to have it on PC but after I already pre-ordered it for PC they announced that there was that haunted hogsmead quest and stuff that was only for ps5.. lol so i got it again.

Redfall is the game I’m most looking forward to. Replaced also looks fantastic (in the brief glimpse of gameplay I’ve seen). I’m not a racer but Forza Motorsport also looks incredible. So many games...

What’s cool to me about this list (that I’m also excited for) - is they are single player - a lot of big titles I feel like, and they aren’t cod or battlefield or some other battle royal or sweaty multiplayer - i play those some times but have been really interested in good story driven games lately! This is cool!

I really enjoy your videos Jake, your energy and excitement is contagious. I am really looking forward to what 2023 has ahead for games, specifically Wo Long Fallen Dynasty. Nioh 2 is one of my all time favorites and this looks like it will scratch that itch.

If I had to take 3 it would be Starfield, Jedi survivor and RE4.

2023 is looking to be straight up one of the best years for games in like a long time

If Stalker 2 comes out it’s by far my most anticipated game but RE4 is my sure thing most anticipated game. Starfield is the one I’m most curious about. It’s legitimately a 50/50 for me

Not to kill any hype for you, but as a heads up they’ve announced some things in the gameplay that make it quite different from the original Stalker, things like more accessibility in getting around the map (despite part of the original experience being how difficultly survival is).

@@timmm1668 Stalker is a weird one because it has such a strong and unique modding community. If it doesn’t meet expectations I’m sure there will be a mod or mods to alter the game to whatever I want or prefer. That being said it’s not like I preordered it (we all should know better by now) so I can wait and see and also wait for the mods if it’s that bad.

Glad to see Wolf Among Us 2 getting a shout. I keep forgetting about it but the first is one of my favourite games, and easily my favourite from Telltale.

Jake I've enjoyed your videos for a long time. I like that you're not super negative and hard on games. You give them a chance and enjoy them for what they are. You haven't lost the "fun" of video games. I'm 40 and started on nes. I've played practically everything from then til now and I just like to have fun with all types of games. Anyways have a Merry Christmas brother.

I've been excited for Atomic Heart since the reveal trailer. Really hope it's good. Also I completely forgot about The wolf among us 2, excited for that one too. A bit worried about Suicide Squad, but like a lot of ppl I also have faith in Rocksteady. Hogwarts Legacy looks surprisingly good, but we'll see. I am confident Bethesda will nail the world building for Starfield, I just hope they do a better job with the pacing and the characters.

Pacing? In a game where you can literally take a 50 hour detour there is no such thing as pacing because pacing is up to the player.

"Atomic Heart" is a russian game, choke full of soviet symbology from devs who said nothing about their country's w@r and gen0c1de in 10 months folllowing the invasion. Existense of this game is as absurd as let's say existence of a game about Th1rd Re1ch during the WW2 from the german developers. Not to mention the fact that the protagonist is a KGB agent, same KGB where putin worked in. One of the main investors of "Mundfish" is GEM Capital, which belongs to Anatolii Palii. The guy previosly worked at "Gazprom" for 10 years and has a gas business in russia. While the civilized world bans russian oil and gas because of the russian invasion in Ukraine and the gen0c1de of Ukrainians, russian oil money fund this game. And of course because of the game's origin, you will be funding the gen0cide of Ukrainians. Make of all this info anything you want.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox actually looks a lot like Grime, like the lovecraftian areas look very reminiscent of that game, even down to the body part theming. And it's got a very similar visual style and perspective.

I will also be keeping my eye out for 'Wolf Among Us 2.' I played the first game on the PSVita and to say I was shocked/surprised/thrilled would be an understatement! I really had no idea what the game was about (I picked it up cheap as stores started dumping Vita games), but it ended up being one of my favorite games of all time!

I played it on my Vita too. I underestimated how much I’d dig it. Absolute masterpiece. The Telltale walking dead series is just as good or maybe even a little better imo.

Pretty excited to see most of the big name new games coming out next year, but also looking forward to seeing more from Embark Studios (The Finals and Arc Raiders)

I want to play the Jake Baldino Simulator. Where you have to balance your work and home life and still find time to play video games. Plus bonus XP every time you say "grain of salt".

I have surprisingly managed to keep my hype levels up for Starfield. Always cautious, of course, but Bethesda doing space odyssey RPG things has me excited. Also Octopath Traveler 2.

Obviously very excited for Spider-Man 2 and Starfield. But I'm also really excited for the Plucky Squire from Devolver Digital. The whole aesthetic is pure nostalgia for me.

Really excited for Starfield, Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy 16, Hogwarts, and even Redfall, to name a few. I know it’s Rocksteady, but given how little we’ve seen.. and what happened with Gotham Knights, I’m extremely worried about that game.

@@mister-pinkman I mean he literally pointed that out in his comment that he knows it’s a different studio but they are both owned by WB. There are a lot of similarities between both titles leading up to launch, including like Jake mentioned, not really knowing exactly how the game will play. Not to mention rocksteady has lost a lot of talent over the last seven years they’ve been working on this game. Not sure how anyone can’t understand having concerns given the circumstances.

Can’t wait for the new Star Wars and also the Deadspace remake. Octopath Traveler 2 and the new Zelda are the ones that I am most excited for though.

Really looking forward to Sea of Stars, from Sabotage Studios. I'm so whelmed by what they've shown from Final Fantasy 16, so far. It's got a ton of hype, but...idk man. We'll see.

I am so excited for 2023. It has gotten to the point where I am really scared to face a reality where any one of the games that I am looking forward to could be disappointing or bad. My list is as follows: -Hollow Knight Silksong -Atomic Heart -Starfield -The Last of Us (PC release) -Dead Space Remake -Hogwarts Legacy -Nine Sols -Lies of P -Spider-Man 2 -Hell is Us -Alan Wake II -Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty DLC -Luna Abyss -Crowsworn *a few of these may not come out this year (P.S. I had never heard of the Stalker series or The Wolf Among Us, so thank you for some new recommendations!)

Not only do we get FFXVI but at the end of the year we also get the next FF7 game Rebirth. Pretty wild that we are getting both those huge final fantasy games in the same year. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a year as packed with big blockbuster games as 2023 is

Resident Evil 4 remake is definitely what I'm most excited for but I'm also really excited for the Dead Space remake, Dead Island 2, and Spider-Man 2. Also looking forward to SpongeBob SquarePants The Cosmic Shake for some lighthearted fun! If I happen to come up with the money for a PSVR2 I'm really interested in playing The Dark Pictures Anthology Switchback since I loved Until Dawn Rush of Blood. I hope there are some fun hidden gems that release in 2023 as well!

I imagine seeing Jake across the room at Gamescon. The scent of Dr. Squatch floats throught the air. He walks up to me with his Raycons in, rocking a brand new pair of Vessi shoes, and, with the slight whiff of last nights Factor meal, he says "Take this with a grain of salt, but I'm gonna kick your ass." Beats me to a pulp.

I’m gonna really have to pick and choose what I wanna play because I work a lot and there’s no way I’ll have enough time to even play half of this stuff. Which ones are you most excited for? I'm looking forward to continuing to push the boundaries of what I know I enjoy. I found multiple games I really enjoyed this year by trying something new. it didn't always work out but it was worth it for the times that it did.

So this will be a random game that I am hoping for and it might sound weird compared to the upcoming big blockbuster games coming out... but man, I really enjoyed the first 2 Ori games: Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I'm praying they make a part 3 bc the first 2 were such great games

If you haven't tried Hollow knight, I can highly recommend it. Similar to the Ori games but with different art style. Also they are working on a sequel called Silksong, coming in 2023.

My top are probably Star Wars Survivor, Hogwarts Legacy, Spider-man 2, Starfield, and Tears of the Kingdom. But tbh there's so many. We gamers are going from some pretty big gaps in between quality content in 2020-22 to where I'm once again going to have to budget for the ones I want the most 😄

There's no such thing as gaps when 20+ years of backlog exists, and the fact that the only way to have enough time to play all the good new releases even in slow years is to either do it as your full time job or be unemployed.

Most anticipated has gotta be suicide squad kills the justice league. Rocksteady is the exact type of studio to take something like a shooter game and take it to another level. It’ll be quality no matter what

There weren't a lot of games I wanted to play for several years. But starting some time this year, incredible games started coming out non-stop, to the point that I'll start one game, then have to put it down because something even more exciting came out, then put THAT down because of ANOTHER game, etc. And literally all of these games you listed look incredible, I don't think it's going to end any time soon. I don't even have the time for video games that I used to, but the Steam Deck has helped so much. Yet another incredible development in the industry lol

I am looking forward to armored core VI, Hades II early access, Zelda Tears of The Kingdom, Hollow Knight Silksong (hopefully), Final Fantasy XVI (if I decide to get a PS5), RE4 Remake, Dead Space Remake, Hyper Light Breaker, Little Monster Inside (hopefully), Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, etc. Maybe Black Myth Wukong.

I don't know if you played Hollow Knight or not but Silksong was confirmed to be out in 2023! I am beyond excited to play that to the point I want to put myself into cryogenic sleep until it's out

Even though I'm not a big multiplayer gamer, I have to go with redfall since arkane is easily in my top 5 favorite developers.

Since 2019, I feel like there’s been a huge video game drought. The lack of a consistent triple A release rhythm has definitely defined these last 3 years due to tons of delays and the slow and painful cross-gen transition. But I am still hoping that 2023 is the year that this 9th gen momentum begins. With all of these big games coming out, the future is looking the brightest it’s been since 2018.

Now that I think about it, it has been a pretty wierd and rough cross gen transition this time around. I think 2023 will prolly be the last year we still get some of the big blockbuster games on last gen consoles. Atleast I hope so cus it’s time to move on so devs can fully utilize the power of the new consoles having to put stuff on the ps4 and Xbox one still is holding all these dev studios back.

There’s so many games coming out in 2023 but my most Top 3 anticipated are… 1) RE4 Remake - As a resident evil fan, this has me hella pumped as the original will forever be one of my all-time favorite games. Judging from the recent gameplay trailers of the remake & how its going for a more scarier atmosphere has me so pumped that it’s my highly anticipated game of the year! 2) The Wolf Among Us 2 - Telltale Games was one of my favorite developers as they created the legendary first season of TWD (the first game to ever make me cry which got me into how a video game can tell such a powerful yet emotional story); alongside other great games like Batman, Borderlands, etc. Seeing this game from a beloved game company makes me a bit emotional but hyped to see the return of my boy, Bigby! 3) Star Wars: Jedi Survivor - Really liked the first game so much as it invokes the soulslike formula to great use. Plus, it’s Star Wars!

I’m excited for The Wolf Among Us 2, Lies of P, Atomic Heart, Starfield, Jedi: Survivor, Spider-man 2, and the Horizon: Forbidden West DLC. There’s probably more, but I can’t think of them lol

Excited for 2023, gonna get a series x or s and play EA Motive’s iron man game & of course Street fighter 6. Might borrow a friends ps5 for a weekend for spiderman 2 Plus ID’s new game is rumored soon God what a year

this is the same way i like to do my preorders gave up ordering things without solid release dates after the many delays of final fantasy 7 remake. Btw need to get on preordering diablo 4 and final fantasy 16 at some point look forward to them releasing in june

I'm not into skateboarding games, but Skate Story might be my #1 anticipated game of next year. The trailer immediately hooked me. Looks incredibly interesting.

Octopath Traveler 2! I was honestly surprised when I saw that info come out. I loved the first one on my switch and I'm hoping the sequel is great. I'm also excited for Hades 2, and Remnant 2 which were revealed at the game awards. Those two honestly surprised me. I hope I get more info about the sequel to Hades because man. The first one was so good, and I agree with you. I'm not a sweaty hands gamer either. I can only take so much of roguelites/souls games before I tap out. I enjoy heavy jrpgs instead because I enjoy those more. Love your videos your before you buys are so helpful! I'm always sad when you're not on there lol.

I have Howarts Legacy pre-ordered. So, I'm looking forward to playing that. I'm also looking forward to Hellblade 2 and Jedi Survivor.

2023 is going to be a great year, personally my top game is Armored Core VI, as a long time AC fan who very much did not enjoy V and Verdict day, from what I am reading based on the interviews the gameplay will be more like the AC4 and AC4A style, which is by far my favorite style of Armored core to play!

wolf among us has one of, if not THE best soundtracks ive ever heard (actually maybe hotline miami beats it), but man i adore that game and its so nostalgic to hear the music.

I’m very excited to be able to play fatal frame 4 next year. That franchise has so much potential!
