The recipe is already there for both Gears and Fable, they just need to modernize it and with UE5 and Forzatech in the hands of talented devs like playground and the coalition, I'm sure they will. 343 also figured it's time to switch to UE and hire some proper talent so halo is on the right track as well.

As a gamer in my 40’s I’m happy that single player games are still popular. I remember when multiplayer was getting big there was a fear in the industry that it would kill single player games. There’s nothing like it imo. It reminds me of renting a game back in the day and playing in the dark over the weekend

​​@@jasonsmith530 honestly Halo just needs to die. I REALLY hope they don't make another Halo, and this is coming from someone who has loved Halo since CE came out. After H3 it went down hill and never stopped. Reach was meh, everything after it was garbage. 343 sucks at making Halo games.

i just hope they totally lean into the locusts being much bigger and more feared than the humans before they got buff as fuck to match them physically. marcus being thrown around like that and then thrown into the ceiling itself is very telling and i don’t see anyone talking about it

Were soldiers enhanced after E Day? I'm not super into lore after playing 1-3 years ago but I know there was comics and all kinds of stuff that expanded the lore.

I hope this feels like Halo: Reach story to the Halo universe

Yeah i hope for the same. There's just something great about desperate fights and last stands in games and e-day will sure be brutal. Most hyped game in a while love gears of war.

Gears of War is one of, if not my favorite game of all time. Watching the Xbox show, I literally jumped out of my couch when I saw the cog symbol on the TV in the reveal trailer. It was one of the best "one more thing" moments in recent gaming history. Beyond excited for Gears to be back!

I want Gears 3's Horde Mode, 4 player co-op, the vibes of the first Gears. They never quite re-captured the horror elements of the original. Like when you have to deal with the Kryll, or that lab with the wretches.

Nah they have to stick with the 2 player co-op it allows things to stay tense and they don't have to always have 4 people in the story for things to work Now maybe a 4 player side story thing where you play as other characters could be cool

Dom just could never catch a break, yet he always tried to stay afloat, strong, and somewhat cheery.

Horde mode and couch co op/ splitscreen is a must.

John DiMaggio still sounds exactly the same when he does Marcus so I think he HAS to return (+ he's in the trailer grunting) Hopefully the same for Dom, Hoffman and Kim (Robin Atkin Downes) etc.

His Marcus is good but his Bender is legendary. Most of his thousands of characters sound amazing. He is the Mel Blank of our times. I love catching a cartoon my kids are watching and hearing his voice. You could watch a whole day of Cartoon Network programming and create a drinking game every time you hear his voice on a random character!

Small thing, but I kind of love that young Marcus has a bit more facial similarity to J.D. You can see the family resemblance even more than you do in Gears 4/5.

​@@mattock1233 The games definitely going to start during the war. Trailer shows them coming home then getting jumped by the Locust. Wouldn't hit as hard if the intro cutscene or whatever just starts with Locusts emerging.

Imagine you play with the Retro Lancer the whole game and in the second to last Act, the scene where Tai uses a power saw to slice up a Locust to save Marcus happens. Then in the last act you are introduced to the Lancer Mk.2 and get to try the chainsaw bayonet out for the entire last Act.

Literally that first Berserker in GOW was so scary 😂 took me many months to finally do it

I love gears and I’m especially excited to see the locust again. Not only were they scary monster looking but they were like a real army. A force with rankings and iconic characters of their own. I really hope we get more of that in this game and the locust get some love too

Im very excited to potentially see Tai and Adam fenix again, if the lancer does get madr at some point in this game tai and adam will have to be in it. Tai come up with the idea and he used a buzzsaw to cut up a locust and adam is the one who actually made it. Also maybe a small flashback to see carlos would be absolutly amazing, i feel like we need to finally see carlos somehow man

I got into Gears during the pandemic and quickly became a fan. I'm excited for E-Day no matter they end up doing, honestly.

That trailer was great. When they showed the city being destroyed and showed that it was E-Day, I got really excited

I want some great campaign co op cause Gears Of War is what finally got my wife to join me in co op. Well it also took Dom getting knocked down about 50 times against General Raam before I said if u want to see the end, you're going to have to take over cause Dom's AI is a f***ing stupid lol 😂 I hope John DiMaggo, Robin Atkins Downes and some others return to reprise voices too. We have the Gears 3, Gears 4 and Gears 5 xbox consoles that my nephews still use, when they visit us, except for the Gears 3 one.

I'm sold on this game. I love the relationships between the characters, so getting to know their foundations is a great place to explore.

There are two things that I hope will be in Gears of War E-Day. Firstly, terrifying beserker encounters like in the first game. Secondly, nighttime segments with the kryll. Just a little nod to the first game, that would be nice

The 4 player co-op gears was my favourite

I think it’s shocking we never got this out the gears franchise already, I remember thinking the series/franchise was done after 3. Answering questions I never thought to ask. I won’t go buy an Xbox for it but if one comes my way it’ll be something I’ll look into with interest.

Knowing he looks like JD I wanna see Marcus get into more brutal fights as was in the preview trailer (in cutscenes only) where he gets a surprise yet near fatal attack due to fatigue where his face changes to the face we know now. Also see E-Day start where they are fighting in the Pendulum Wars but also hearing rumors about people going missing in nearby towns becoming more frequent. But I would love seeing cameos but fresh faces more.

My enthusiasm for Blacklist bottomed out when I heard Michael Ironside wasn't going to be playing Sam Fisher. I adore the Splinter Cell franchise but still never played it. If they do recast GoWED I will probably just chuck on audio of Adventure Time while I play it to cope.

There's no way I'd ever deprive myself of a good game over a voice actor no matter how beloved, not forever anyway it's an old and cheap game now

I want Marcus and Dom to interact with former UIR soldiers. Imagine the tension of working with former enemies.

There are some books, particularly Aspho Fields that are about the Pendulum Wars to Gears 1 timeline

I think for me the one thing I would love to see in gears of war E-day is seeing Marcus and Dom's reaction to seeing the boomers for the first time and also I feel like the big conclusion for E-day will be Marcus and Dom using the hammer of dawn for the first time and the way it'll be built up will be like them having to use a nuclear bomb to win the war temporarily

We need beast mode but taken place on eday and u can be like a way wider variety of locust to choose

Hey Now, Jake! Most everything I know about G.O.W. is from Gameranx and WhatCulture videos. I've always wanted to play a GOW game - so I'm excited for this. (All of that applies to WarHammer as well!) GOW? GrOW? GeoW?

To me, gears was the original trilogy. I just can't see these new characters leave an impact like the old ones.

10:27 I would like to see the ability to skin your own generic. There is much to be learned from the character customization of BG3. These shooters could really borrow from rpgs when it comes to building characters. Folks that served all have extremely separate and distinct stories to tell.

I definitely want to have a flashback mission for stealing the plans for the Hammer of Dawn from the UIR. That mission is where Carlos and Anya's mother are killed. A huge part of the lore, and it could bring some emotional moments to the E Day campaign.

Gears 2 is my personal favorite, i would just play hoard mode with the Shotty & Sniper for hours, it was endless & satisfyingly fun i don't even remember if i played the campaign.

The only game I’m excited for at the moment.

I hope they do bring out more darker, horror like elements to the story to make E-Day the traumatizing event the lore made it out to be. I feel that this could really flesh out where Dom and Marcus is coming from as well as their mindset. I would also love to see if the Lancer evolves into the chainsaw Lancer we know and love today. Granted it would be a nostalgia grab, but it’ll work. I also wonder if mention of Raam will be in the game; maybe showing him moving up the ranks, or possibly usurping his title of general

If gears E-day can give me a level as memorable as being in a riftworm then I’ll be happy.

They need to make the gnasher like a power weapon or something because it’s going to make cqc encounters trivial. I really do wish they would make the change like god of war did (as Jake referenced) the same old formula isn’t going to work when the point of the game is making locust drones formidable again. The pace has to be slowed way down but gears has been tuned since the original to be a high speed, high body count game where pretty much every encounter against grubs was like 5 plus at a time. The only way it works is if they bring the camera in way tighter, throw in some Callisto protocol mechanics and make the gnasher way more scarce. In the first gears of war you didn’t even get the gnasher until you reach carmine gets sniped in embry square I believe

It was Marcus’s voice actor in the trailer so he will most likely be in the game

I'm the very rare fan that has really no clue much about the story...I've started late into 3 and judgement and then always started the campaign but then get a lil into Multi-player but then completely sucked into Horde modes. I can't get enough of it. I always tell myself, when I'm bored of horde ill get into the campaign but 3 through 5, I have not touched it or looked into it. The look of the world characters and enemies, mechanics, and most importantly... the guns.... were all enough for me

The very minor head cannon I have for the game IF they go with the massive size difference from the trailer. The drones that fought E-Day were the true fighters and soilders, Gears 1-3 started using the miners Etc. Similar to the Ragers they were in the start of the Locust war but were killed off and went "almost" extinct. Just an in lore explanation would and could be cool.

Gears of War was the first game I played on my Xbox 360 I played the whole game with my brother and it was amazing. I'll never forget how excited I was finally playing it for the first time.

Tai’s time was cut to short I hope to see more of him and dizzy in this game (but I doubt we get much if any dizzy since he joins cog after eday?)

Wihtout looking it up, wasnt it something Tai Kaliso did with chainsaws trying to deal with the thickness of locust skin which lead to the idea of throwing them onto the Lancers?

Honestly, if they DONT get John Dimaggio back, it'll be because they didn't ask. The man has stated in the past that he LOVES being the voice of Marcus, that it is among his favorite Roles of all time... and that at conventions, when asked to say something as one of the characters hes voiced, its almost Always either Marcus or Bender.(another of his favorites to voice) It looks Good. It'll be nice if they captured the classic Feel... But i want to know, What OTHER characters will be involved... We know A few who wont be, Like Baird, Cole, and Dizzy, because Marcus only met Baird and cole in Gears 1, and dizzy was a conscript between gears 1 and 2, and again, marcus hadnt met him yet. And we know at least ome character who WILL be in the game: Anya Stroud. And probably Hoffman.

So I missed the boat on the Gears games. I was busy with life and in high school when the first game released, and all I remember are the amazing commercials, and how good the games looked. Fast forward to current day, and I went back and tried both Gears of War 1 & 5. 1 got boring to me pretty quickly, even playing with a friend. I think we’ve moved on mechanically and without nostalgia it wore thin pretty quickly. Then I tried 5, and I just wasn’t feeling it. I’ll give it one more try when this one comes out, but it’s not looking like it’s going to be a series that clicks with me. It’s a shame, because so many people love this series, and I’m just not one of those people.

Still thinking about them giving that mad world nostalgia. On a side note, gears has delivered in every game for me, even tactics. The first 3 are on another level tho. One thing for me in any zombie or invasion movie my favourite moment in any of those kinds movies or games is always the invasion and the surprise of it all for the protagonist’s

I was very worried but very much loved Kait Diaz from tha latest Gears game. It was an overall a very great game and best writing and acting of any Gears overall. While I love to get to play EDay, makes me sad to see no love for Kait and the rest of the gang. They did a great job with the campaign of Gears so far.

I will say, I'm sad it won't have the cool robot weapons from gears 4, those weapons were really good

They could go more into Anya's character - find out how they became so close. More Hoffman stuff, too - in the books, he & Marcus had more a mutual respect and almost-friendship for each other. And definitely Marcus's Dad, Adam Fenix - A LOT of Gears lore surrounds him, and the research he did that helped end the Locust War. Pipe-Dream wish is they *_finally_* release a _Marcus Fenix Collection_ on PC

I love Marcus but getting to play from Dom's perspective would be awesome to me. He was my favourite character back in the day and we wont get the chance to play him in any sequels

I don't think so. D Carmine is a sibling to the others. They were all kids when E-Day happened, and they didn't really encounter the Carmine brothers until Gears 1. We might see their dad, but that's it.

@Veachie but the last carmine's gotta be older cuz hes lizzies dad and Clayton didn't seem that much older than lizzie. He could've been the eldest and they all sign up for the military as soon as they're eligible. It would be hard to imagine marcus and Dom not recognizing them but at the same time, it is possible. @@jeremymills04 Lizzie is like in her twenties - same as JD, Kait, Del, and Fahz. She was born sometime after Gears 3. Clayton is 100% an old man (him having to get up). Some perspective, Clayton (who is the oldest, BTW), was about 9 during E-Day. Anthony was a little younger, and Benjamin was about 4.

I want to see a Gears of War E-Day and Gears 1-3, all in one package, with 1-3 remastered further. ... All on PC.

More of having what we want seems like exactly what we went through those storms for; gives us a chance to familiarize ourselves with our foundations before evolution day.

Iam a massive fan of gears of war. Its easily my favourite game series I have hundreds of hours in all the games even tho I am definitely one of the younger fans. I have high hopes for this game I want those darker themes like from gears of war 2 I think horror should be leveled up massively
