    Hi Uncle Mud, QUESTION: Does smoke ever come up out of the fuel loading chamber. It seems to me that with this sort of design, the fuel loading chamber would eventually heat up and create a competing chimney, thus smoke should begin rising out of it. ALSO Can you leave the lid open with when longer sticks are loaded into it?

As I have done much research into fires and rock stoves come out as the best. I was so excited they Are made here. thank you so much for your review.

    I am sitting next to mine as we speak enjoying its warmth. The Gamera is one of the best Rocket Heaters I have seen that you can buy. It does an excellent job and the glass makes for a nice fire view. It also works well with a cob mass bench. And the builder is local to you. It was worth it to me to get one from half way across the earth. Tell Zhivko that Uncle Mud sent you.

    Over priced is one down fall. Another one is you need to babysit that thing so it doesn't run out of wood. I wanted something that would heat all day without needing to be attended to constantly. I eventually constructed mine with a gravity fed pellet feed and burner. With a hopper that holds a 40 lb.s bag of pellets, it will burn 10 -12 hours without being attended to.

    The pellet feeder (like the one you built or the Liberator) is really convenient. These rocket heaters are great if you have free or almost free woodscraps like I do and a schedule that lets you walk by and drop something in every 20 minutes. We have built larger rockets that will burn several hours on sawdust blocks but if the price is right for pellets you sure can't beat them for convenience especially if your heater doesn't need electric to burn them. Thanks for watching.

    How does this compare to the Liberator Gen 2?

  • @UncleMud

    The Liberator is a lot less expensive and US made and safety and (soon to be) emissions tested and comes with a non electric pellet feeder and produces about a third less heat. We are working on getting the Gamera certified for sale in the US. They are both great heaters.

    @@UncleMud One more question. Can you burn at different temps and still burn clean? Slower for example

  • @UncleMud

    @UncleMud

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@jerryhenak9148 you can burn less wood at a time or less dense wood wood to get fewer btus but if you burn slower by closing the air intake you will burn inefficently and create creosote instead of heat. That is why the therrmal mass bench storage is so important. Burn hot and clean for as long as you need to to warm up the house and the mass then let it go out. Start another fire for an hour or two later in the day if you need to.
