Choose whatever makes you happy. Besides Mystic because Arcticuno has almost never been a very good pokemon, especially since Stealth Rocks. And don't pick Valor because Stealth Rocks. Pick Instinct because Zapdos is awesome, and has almost always been a really good pokemon.

well considering the lehendary birds and that flying types are weak to electric pokemon team instinct has a big advantage when the legendary birds are available. its cool we finally get compensated for having the weakest eveelution (jolteon, sparky) cp wise. go team instinct :)

In other games, your hp bar or control indicator is usually green or blue, then allied units are usually yellow, and enemy units are usually red. It just feels natural to defend blue structures and attack red structures like in StarCraft.

My reason for choosing Team Instinct was because at the time my PE class was focusing on flag football. There were three colors, red, blue, and yellow. I was on the yellow team. The red and blue teams bragged about how they were team Valor and Mystic, while we were just named Instinct then moved on. Nobody was hyped up on the yellow team, probably because of how unpopular Team Instinct was in the game. Because of that, when I finally got Pokemon Go a few years later, I was reminded of that memory and choose Instinct.

A lot of people just went from the resistance from niantic's other game ingress to team mystic

I think the colours of the IKEA logo represent the swedish flag, not some psycological effect

Yellow always won for me I've always been yellow

Now, Mystic has even more players than before thanks to the addition of team medallions that allow you to change teams for 1000 pokécoins. Since Mystic is the dominant team, people who initially chose Valor or Instinct will now change to Mystic because it's the most popular team and thus gives players in it an advantage over people in the other teams.

I just picked mystic because I love Articuno lmao

Whereas I was trying to think logically I realized that it is true Mystic's feature itself. For being the most popular, I rarely see team Mystic in control of any gyms, especially during the pandemic, also, those flags that Matpat showed, almost all of them had yellow

I didn't chose Mystic because of popularity. I chose it for several reasons. >Blue is my favorite color >Articuno is my favorite original 3 legendary birds >I really liked the design of Mystic's leader Things like personality matching and popularity I came to discover later. I chose Instinct cause I knew (or strongly felt) like it would be the least popular color. As the competitive person I was I knew I would be in an uphill battle and felt like it was more of a challenge and more satisfying to be on the 'underdog' team of the game.

I chose Mystic based on Articuno in the end. I was seriously considering Instinct, but then I remembered how excited and proud I was to catch Articuno in the game 6-8 years ago, and "Mystic" is a word that appeals to me in general.

I do like blue as well, but I also like red, and I was trying to be more strategic in my choice than "Hm, this ones blue and I like blue so there we go." Also my favorite Pokemon type is ice, so Articuno appeals to me that much more. I never really cared for electric types in general, no matter how cute they can be.. Fire types can be pretty epic, but still don't catch my eye in most games unless it's Torchic. I would always choose Torchic.

+Jonathan Gillooly I think the teams themselves are entirely equal as of the current game model despite the mascots. Considering you can't catch them in the game, it may be irrelevant as to why a team would be better or worse other than possible future versions that would allow you to perhaps catch the legendary of your team.

No, zapdos has a type advantage, since there are all flying types and flying is weak to electric, so technically zapdos is better unless you're are just saying that on opinion.

My city is mainly Instinct, due to early adopters telling their friends and families "Join team Instinct!" But, there is still enough competition to make things interesting. The other two cites that are adjacent to mine have a similar balance, but with the other teams. The city in the middle is made of equal portions due to this.
