Game Theory did a video about how the Pokedex is full of lies, then showed off one of them... and it was about Gardevoir creating black holes being impossible because of science, yet they forgot about some science, and that Gardevoir is a magical psychic fairy Pokemon apparently. In this video we look at Gardevoir and its black hole ability to uncover the TRUE Power! And find out if the Pokedex has any level of truth to this entry.

    Ok; I really like this theory, it makes a lot of sense It fixes one of the two problems I had with Game Theory's video on the subject, that is the question of sustainability and size of the black holes created, but not my major question. How would Gardevoir protect their trainer with one? This dilemma was still present in Game Theory's video with the black holes being minuscule and unsustainable. The answer is quite simple, yet never approached. Quick example; say someone threatens a Gardevoir's trainer with a gun and is quite intent on killing them, In this scenario, Gardevoir can create a small black hole near the gunman's hand causing the assailant to lose their hand; and possibly the gun; thus disabling them. Or even inside their head decapitating them. either way Gardevoir has saved their trainers life, using a black hole no less, proving the Pokedex correct. Even with an unsustainable black hole, this should still be possible; however, Game Theory doesn't mention this possibility and proceeds to say that because the black hole is too small, thus it can't be useful, thus the Pokedex is wrong. Conversely, I say the Pokedex is right, Gardevoirjust killed; in the given scenario; to keep their trainer safe. sorry for the long comment, I have a tendency to make long comments. Either way great video, keep up the good work.

    My guess for the whole "It doesn't feel the pull of gravity" would be simply that its hovering happens automatically, like the beating of your heart. It doesn't have to focus its psychic powers to float, it just does.

    "what are your thoughts on the matter", I see what you did there. Don't we see Gardevoir create a small black hole at the start of her Burst Attack in Pokken Tournament? All it affects is the enemy Pokemon. Evidently she can also control what the black hole affects as well. Also Gardevoir for Smash. Please.

    Gravity also afects things without mass because it curves the space-time itself. If you exist, gravity afects you. On the other hand, if an object feels equal forces in oposite directions, it won't move at all. Suposing that telequinesis is like a magnetic field, gardevoir wudn't feel any force when floting. You can levitate iron if you have a magnet of the exact force at the exact distance over it, and the magnet would now feel an extra force pulling it down. Good video! P.D.: Excuse me if something isn't correctly writen, I'm Spanish.

    If Gardevoir can make black holes, she surely can erase them without issues as well. I imagine her just creating a black hole big enough to absorb the threat and then destroying the black hole completely and utterly. Or maybe her "black holes" aren't actual black holes as we know them but just warp gates of darkness that teleport the threat away, making it look like it was eaten by the hole.

    Been a while since you last did one of these Game Theory Debunked videos! And here I thought that the "black hole" was just a fancy description for the move Shadow Ball, which Gardevoir can learn and looks very similar to a small black hole. One thing I don't like about Game Theory is how they constantly ignore the way things work in the games universes they theorize about while trying to replace it with how things work in real life. Who's to say physics in the Pokémon world (or the world of any game they theorize on) work anything like they do in our world to begin with? Or anything for that matter? Both the games and anime have provided plenty of proof that things that are normally fatal to us, like fire or high amounts of electricity, can be brushed off like it's nothing after drinking some lemonade. Proof being that Ash has been *REPEATEDLY* set on fire by Charizard, whose fire is stated to be able to melt *BOULDERS* and Team Rocket has been electrocuted _literally_ hundreds of times and sent flying for possibly miles at a time at the end of most episodes. Maybe black holes are far less dangerous in the Pokémon world than they are in our world, this is seriously something that GT never seems to consider!

    We don't know the specifics of the contract between Oak and Red/Blue in regards to the pokedex. Are we really to believe that the POKEMON PROFESSOR is having CHILDREN write entries for the pokedex and classifying the pokemon as well? Or is it rather the professor had the kids catch the pokemon, research them himself, and then come up with the descriptions/classifications? I find the latter more likely. The games at the time probably did not have the time to accurately portray this process, and so had the entries appear right away upon capture so that you could learn more about the pokemon quickly without dealing with busy work.

When a dying star reaches the point of not producing enough energy, it is not able to withstand the downward force of gravity, and implodes into a back hole, or explodes creating a super nova. I am not positive if supernovas explode and can create black holes or not.

    "If a tree falls in the woods, and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" Yes. Yes it does. So you're kinda wrong. Why? Just because there is no ear to receive the sound waves does not mean the sound waves don't exist. The moment the vibrations are caused, those vibrations are literally the sound waves traveling through the medium of air. This is why if we left a tape recorder in the vicinity, the sound could be captured for replay at a later time. The sound waves exist because the tree falling, whether someone is present or not, still creates the vibrations carried by the medium.You can't say something doesn't exists based on your lack of perceiving it. Now all the other black hole stuff, yeah, I agree with you. But sir, that tree made a sound, whether you perceived it or not.

    The type of black hole the pokemon world uses is slightly different, The "protect it's trainer" bit could likely mean a way to use blackholes to teleport the trainer out, and teleport itself, or everything around it, as it was shown in the anime when Gardevoir used Teleport. Blackholes have many theories, Pokemon is using all of them and then some, in "right" and "wrong" ways.

    5:30 Sorry, but if you want to point out flaws for others, try not to mess up too. Nuclear Explosion = Fission OR Fusion. Biggest known is the Zar Bomba... 50 MEGAtons of TNT. Fission Bomb = Only Fission without a Hydrogen Fusion stage... neither (see Ivy King of the US for 500kt). Please check your terminology next time. 10:00 You can turn that supposed mindblow on its head. Hearing is the change of pressure inside our ear based on our sensory organ. So obviously the tree makes a sound if it falls in any enviroment it can cause a change in airpressure by direct intervention or resonance. In short, YES, it does create a pressure wave if force is involved and a moving medium comes into contact (sorry space you are silent and mostly empty). Do you register it? No... not if you are too far away. Doesn't mean it is not there. I know you wanted an allegory, but I wouldn't pick this one.

    I don't get what your trying to disprove? The first one he is just giving a comparison of energy levels. It doesn't have to correlate. For the second part, it is true that it doesn't make a sound. If nothing is around to sense the vibration, it stays a vibration and doesn't progress to become a sound.

  • @viviengemai9796

    @viviengemai9796

    He said 107 tons - I could berate him further for not saying KILOtons mind you - is the biggest man made nuclear explosion. That is plain wrong! Not only is it 107 kilotons, but I even looked it up now. The biggest PURE fission bomb also reaches at least 500kt. This time the US build it, it is the Ivy King. So however you slice it, nuclear explosion (60 MEGATONS or 251040 Terajoule) or the biggest fission bomb, he is wrong on ALL accounts. And no, for anything there - animals etc - it would still be registered as a sound. And your way to avoid it becoming sound is purely based on sensory interpretation, not the basic physical property. The physical property doesn't vanish when unobserved, only your interpretation does. Sound per definition is a physical property. He is wrong in both cases here. Just accept it.

  • @dragonheart5312

    @dragonheart5312

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@viviengemai9796 separating for convince. 1. He said tons of tnt. What you could be saying is kilotons of force. There is a difference. When a bomb goes of, it reacts with the air getting "heavier" increasing the amount of force the weight ratio. 2. Sound is not a physical property, it is a sensation. Vibrations are that physical property. So something doesn't make sound if nothing is close enough to perceive the vibration. Ergo, if you are too far away, you can't hear it, but it still happens.

  • @viviengemai9796

    @viviengemai9796

    5 жыл бұрын

    I know he said tons himself - and he didn't write it in the video either it only states tons. And no he gave his supposed measurement of Terajoules to tons (ktons in fact). It is 107.xxx for the values given. So he 100% certainly used the basic measurement of force here. And the air wouldn't get heavier by pressure force, it gets more DENSE by accelerating the molecules close to the explosion and making them crash into those further away from the epicenter. When it gets compressed, the speed goes down but the mass increases. F = m*a. Thus the total force doesn't change. Whenever the air becomes more dense, the speed reduces even more, ultimately stopping the explosions expansion and bringing it to a near halt - if done in a friction free enviroment. It stops earlier with friction and other factors that make it dissipate. Common death by explosion, internal force trauma. For your sound, aside of basic physical definition of sound, here is Oxford for you: Vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach a person's or animal's ear. Note that they need to fulfill the potential, not actually do reach you to be classified as a sound. Any air vibration in a certain audible range is considered sound.

I understood this when I was 5 years old, and you have this saying quoted over and over by big names incessantly. sigh... If we went by that logic, then frequencies that we cannot perceive would not be "sound" either, and yet they are. The universe does not revolve around human beings lmao
