I must say Matt, i'm actually impressed with how in-depth you went with technology As someone who works day and night with technology(even developing new ones a couple of times), you got me really surprised. Also, one point i must say. With the drones surveillance part, you told a lot about the visuals and other frequencies, but nonetheless told about the most basic of all. The audio. Can I express just how terrifyingly lethal those drones are with realistic health settings? They will suppress your squad when they are too far away to hit you accurately (which wouldn't even be a problem for them IRL) and rapidly shift vertically and horizontally to prevent you from accuracy hitting them as they fly closer and closer until they have an angle around whatever cover their suppressing fire has pinned you behind, and drop you in a few shots.

From my experience, somehow take out the drone’s gps. I have used drones with filming and have had issues when no cell service the drone just flying off where it wanted or even right into a tree. So taking out what sends the gps can make drone dumb, like cell tower. Idk if higher tech ones can get it from satellites or what

Actually, when you look at a teammate or yourself with thermal vision, everywhere except the exposed body is actually a lighter blue than the surroundings. I think it means that they have developped tech that cools your clothes making it the perfect stealth gear. Also, EMP grenades are in the game.

I like how MatPat said that humans are better than technology because they can adapt and re-strategize better solutions against drones, because thats true and even then one of our best solutions is something we've been using back when we considered our biggest threat was bears. Just hide behind a big rock

You know, in theory, with drone tech evolving as it is, there will come a time when you can program a camera drone to follow you from behind and be able to show a live feed of the camera on a pair of vr glasses, essentially allowing you to live your life in third person perspective.

Yes, the drones can still see you. However when it comes to the facial recognition, which is how you would be most likely tracked can easily be beaten with "juggalo" face paint. Meaning monochromatic paints that can hide certain facial features....though this would be for more Watch_dogs tech.

At 2:49 the ironic thing about him showing a red beam coming out of a predator drone is that most laser guided missiles are guided by an infrared laser including the missiles usually found on armed predator drones, but the vast majority of all laser guided missiles are infrared guided, not ultraviolet, also the vast majority of American air to air and surface to air missiles are laser guided because the only real defense we have for it for aircraft is chaff (not the corn kind) which is more expensive and complex, but for ground vehicles like APCs and tanks (and some MRAPs), we have smoke dispensers, but smoke stays in one place, flares (and presumably chaff) the missile to lock onto the itself instead of the aircraft, smoke only just makes it VERY difficult to get a lock in the first place.

I guess the Island would have anti-missile and anti-aircraft defense too. Nuke isn't the most powerful thing anymore, since all it does is a huge blast but nothing new on the way to deliver it. Laser tho, that sound's like a danger. EMP laser could stop any electronic devices, which we all use for everything especially communication. Bio weapon is also pretty dangerous, sending infected rats into the island could devastate the ecosystem, and in time leading to an inhabitable land.

@@DumbestDumbFool Most modern nuclear devices do not require a human operator to bring it to its target. A ballistic missile is realistically unstoppable, especially for small island like that. Although anti-missile defenses exist, you're not going to stop a warhead traveling at speeds in excess of Mach 15. Especially if you have multiple warheads.
