The story about uploading your consciousness into a computer after you die to live some perfect life. It doesn't matter how perfect or beautiful it may seem I would never want to do that. Because it wouldn't be real even though my body is gone. The real me would be off somewhere in reality experiencing real life after death. While the copy of me and the virtual world would be stuck there forever. There's no way I'd ever allow that to happen not even to a copy of my consciousness. To know an exact copy of me would be suffering.

It’s implied that they where not in a virtual world they were in an afterlife, the technology that lets them experience it isn’t a virtual reality machine, it was something similar to a life support machine except it let a person die in the real world for a limited amount of time, which was why people could only use it for 5 hours. At the end we see the girl who had cancer getting buried indicating she went with her husbands wishes. Fans of BM believe the microchips could just be recorded data of people who used the technology who have permanently died. Throughout the episode there are also numerous references to the afterlife within songs, dialogue & images in the background. This episode is regarded as one of the best among fans, even though you basically know the entire plot now & if you haven’t already watched it I’d still recommend watching the full episode it’s one of the best IMO.

Yeah it wasn't so friendly back then. I grew up in the 80's and there was a lot more hate but people were starting to be more accepting by the early 90's . But compared to today, the 80's weren't that great for the LGBT community. There were a lot of murders around then. I come from Australia and I remember hearing a few men who were murdered just for that. Horrible time and I'm so glad that it doesn't happen to the community anymore here and in most western countries. people have become a lot more aware and accepting.
