Game on: celebrating the history of British amusement arcades
Dr Alan Meades, Principal Lecturer in Games Design, at Canterbury Christ Church University, has been researching and documenting one of Britain’s most-loved activities for the past decade.
Arcade Britannia is a celebration of British amusement arcades and their central roles in seaside communities. For over a hundred years, these spaces have delighted and scandalised their visitors, and emerged as important regional economic, social, and cultural hubs.
