PopcornMax179 , I think people are forgetting that George told Dan and Dave how the story will end.... , maybe the way to get there is not 100% accurate with books but it's ok , I assure you that the writing on the show is done with the approval and counsil of George himself.... And For those who claim that the plot in this season is bad (bad ass maybe ;) .... I fear you will be disappointed from the following books as well , cause even though the show has passed the books , I believe that the plot this season is based on what George will write or currently writing in the books.

Emilia performance in this episode was incredible! Some ppl hate her for not crying for viserion but she was shocked and heavy breathing , if she loosed control the night king would have downed even drogon, the only think that was bad in season 7 is the rushed romance of Dany and Jon

​@@ovs4744They got some great and very seasoned actors to do GOT. The acting level was generally very high, with a few exceptions (who then stuck out even more), such as Kit Harington, bless him. Many were Brits, so you don't always see them in Hollywood productions, but they work.

Seeing this after the disappointing final season makes me wanna cry :/ there will never be a show like GoT again

I also wonder why the Night King didn't, ya know, spear the dragon directly in front of him on the ground (Drogon), which was carrying almost everyone at the time, rather than show off his javelin skills and hit the unladen one in the sky. Oh well. Still awesome.

He doesn't want to just outright kill all his enemies, he wants to make them suffer, preferably for a long time, not killing them but instead showing off how powerful he is and how little he actually cares about the suicide squad because he's the Night King with a huge fucking army is a much bigger statement than just going for the cheesy easy kill

Welcome to Game of Thrones, you need to watch the behind the scenes to the Battle of the Bastards, and the Massacre of Hardhome, they legit built a complete f*cking village so they can destroy it after one episode... And in the episode "The Bear and the Maiden fair" they had Brienne fight AN ACTUAL BEAR... A flaming sword would be very casual after watching the behind the scenes & interviews of these episodes...

actors do a great job, but people behind all this...is amazing all the work they have for a 120 seconds scene, lot of time and lot of job..congratulations everyone, you made something amazing, something historic.

the most beautiful series I've ever seen in my life. Each episode is 1000 times nicer than an incredible filming. Even the funniest part of this series is that you love a character but after a few episodes the character dies, which makes me every upset. I can really say I am in love with this series. And I really couldn't believe the visual effects in this episode.

daVel No, that's mediocre. You praise the whole technical team for being awesome, but one thing is overall writing, and a completely different one is team work. D&D have pretty much fucked up logics this season (messages getting delivered pretty instantly??? Seriously???), but that doesn't make performances or the whole cinematography change. It's just D&D's fault. And trust me, "limited budget", with Game of thrones being basically the highest rated TV show in history, when they sell THOUSANDS OF MILLIONS in advertising, is just BULLSHIT. It's even bigger than The Sopranos, and they're just rushing it so they don't make 2 more episodes??? I just don't buy it.

Nah, not really. The VFX were SUPERB. The show just made some questionable choices since they no longer have GRRM's source material to draw from. It's understandable, but there was a marked drop in quality, as far as plot goes, from earlier seasons. That said, I watched the episode again and I still think it was pretty good. Loot Train attack and Battle of the Bastards were better, but this one was okay.

I am SO happy I was super late to watching this show. Saw for the first time in 2021 during the start of Covid and binge watched. I'm on my 7th rewatch, and this episode "Beyond the Wall" is on my list of favorites because of this scene. I absolutely loved seeing so many actors share screen time that hasn't before and when Danny shows up... YES! This show is the best show on television and I loved every season. EVERY season.

imo they should have waited until GRRM is finished with his work they base their series on. just look at that Benjen scene eg. I mean wtf was that? I thought he disappeared from the show, and it was completely fine, he wasn't a very important person and I don't believe ppl were thinking too much about him, then he suddenly heroicly comes back just at the right moment exactly knowing that and where Jon needs help and then just dies after not even 1 min of screentime. Also what was going on with the speed traveling today again?? 1. Gendry running back to the wall and then sends a raven all the way down to Dragonstone, Dany instantly flies north and arrives just at the right moment again, this all happens in 1 NIGHT??? Gendry, the raven, then flying north = max. 8 hrs real time? what the hell? u call this detailed writing?

And this folks is why GOT is so successful, it has real passion and real work.

It's an amazing work, for this series the real workaholics and the people who deserve more credits are not the actors but the technical crew, their work and sweat is what made this series incredible to watch, I mean the realistic scenes, dragons etc... I just got my new ambition now .. hopefully I will get to work on one of amazing set like this... big up lads...

Every single time I watch these anatomy of a scene videos I'm completely mindblown. The amount of work and creativity that goes into GOT is out of this world. D&D and everyone who works on the show are incredible. It's so inspiring to see.

Apart from all the loose writing and spatial coherence, this episode was so epic.Enjoyed every second of it. You have to give credit to them. They know what the audience wants.

Ducky McDuckface The point is D&D aren't GRRM. You can't expect them to write like GRRM. They need to finish this show as well they can and they're trying their best. I'm a huge fan of the books myself. But I think we fans are being to harsh on D&D. Its just an entertainment media in the end of the day. No need to get all serious.

I'm literally obsessed with this show. This is hands down the best successfully top notch effort ive evr seen in a film.

As an avid watcher and book reader i still dont feel we all appreciate the work involved in this show. The guys have done an incredible job.

I could watch behind the scenes all day ! I love it .

So much effort, yet so much criticism. For me, effort paid off, the episode was great!

It’s ok to be nuanced and to separate 1) amazing sets and production work and 2) piss-poor, good for nothing writing

Best effort from all the crews . They are the backbone of this show. Amazing work. Wew

This probably my favorite scene out of season 7. The special effects within this scene is amazing, I mean WOW!!

Blown away by the VFX and the effort put into these episodes. But the night king doesn't look as menacing and terrifying as he used to. No offence to Vlad, but Richard did a better a job at looking like pure evil. Bring back the original actor!!! And where the hell is ghost?!

Yeah! That's about my only complaint about the episode. Bring back Richard Brake for the role as the Night King! He was awesome in the fourth and fifth season.

I think they mentioned in a previous interview that they had to cut the appearance of the direwolves down because it was eating up their VFX budget and it basically came down to a choice between direwolves or dragons, based on this episode I'd say they made the right choice. :P

I'm over Jon Snow. He is a colossally bad leader as is his Auntie. No sense having good counsel if you won't ever take it. At least Cersei listens to Cliburn. Sansa take the North and with Little Finger turn your attention to Kings Landing. Arya go kick rocks, you don't have the aptitude for this game. Maybe you can find the remnants of Ice have them forge you a new sword and Sansa can let you be queen's justice after you kill Ilyn Payne. Cersei prevails in the end.

You can hate the horrible writing though, you absolutely can, for it has destroyed this amazing show so many people worked so hard to create and produce D&D, 2 arrogant pricks

That's hilarious!

2:09 "we wrote it and I was watching it and thinking holy shit Tormund is going to die..(the director) managed to override my rational brain and make me think Tormund was going to die" Yes because that is what would have happened in old school GoT. Back then the show was about real-life consequences. Now, even the second-tier characters are coated in plot armour and survive the unthinkable.

I was blown away at the realism of this episode. It looked so real to me. Very talented SFX people!
