For a single-episode character meant to show the death toll of a major battle without sacrificing any regulars, Karsi was actually pretty effective, in large part because nobody (except for perceptive book readers) had any idea the Hardhome scene would go the direction it did. For all intents and purposes when the main conflict of the scene was "Jon Snow and Tormund have to win over suspicious wildlings", Karsi seemed like a new regular being introduced up until the moment you realize this is a massacre scene and she's just said goodbye to her kids. At that point you can pretty much tell she's a goner, but it still has weight to it because of the way the scene had set her up beforehand.

This director also did "Battle of the Bastards" in season 6. He's awesome, wish we could have more of him.

There will be definitely fight scenes in season 7, quote me on that. And there are many more awesome directors out there, but this one definitely was very, very convincing.

It's always embarrassing to hear Norwegian people speak English without a script. Our accent is so awkward. Take Birgitte as a contrast. Her English is a lot more fluid, even though Danish and Norwegian are similar in many ways. Harsh, clipped sounds, not at all melodic like Swedish.

RIP Karsi =/ I really wish that she was more than a one-off character. She had a presence, onscreen.

Every penny was a good investment on that episode. It was the first glimpse of how powerful the nightking really is and they got it totally right.

There need to be more productions like GoT, not even mentioning the amazing acting, world building, and writing, the appreciation for the VFX guys and the extras in just amazing. Hearing Kit Harrington explain how their extras were out there in the same conditions for even longer than they were and were just as important as him and his fellow main cast was just incredibly gratifying to extras and bit part actors everywhere!

The producers have done fabulous work, i can't begin to imagine how tricky it is to produce these episodes.

the coolest thing about this show are the actors...they're almost all of them perfectly cast, if you know the books you know how on point the casting is...and they obviously like doing the roles and they very much understand their characters too.

I agree though I think Ramsay Bolton wasn't well cast at all in the looks department. In the books he's supposed to be ugly and vile looking with long greasy hair but well, you can't call his appearance ugly in the show when he's played by Iwan Rheon, at least he got his gross personality on point

Watching these behind the scenes of GoT makes it pretty clear why no other show can compare. The vision and production required for the end product on screen is just insane.

Of all time!? The show hasn't even ended yet. Wait for the show to end, then you can talk all you want. Season 7 and 8 are going to be lit with the battles.

And because of this kind of episodes, Game of Thrones has been the greatest serie ever, doesn't matter the end, the important part is the journey that we have been into. Valar Morghulis.

I didnt watch GOT from the beginning of season 1 till the end so i didnt really get all the hate season 8 got. That is, until i started watching major scenes and episodes like this and i started comparing the intricacies and complexities behind them, i now understand the shame.

Truly brilliant. GOT will forever be a treasure, all those creative minds . I'm happy their hard work and dedication is definitely paying off. This is historic for sure.

As someone who has NOT read the books, I had no idea that THIS AMAZING scene was created for the show. D&D + the rest of the team did great! This was terrifying the first time I saw it.

I remember at the end of this episode saying out loud "What the fuck do you do against THAT!?" I remember feeling so vicerally that Westeros had just no chance fighting off the Night King and his army.

This episode was far more terrifying than I've ever thought of any zombie/massacre movie so far.

I dreamt I was there last night. When I woke up I didn't know whether I was more horrified or disappointed that I had to stop beheading things.

Man and as hard as it was , as a regular audience person, found it to be one of the most shaking moments of the show, like it was easy to imagine being there and going through that, such f. Up feeling like one’s worst nightmares, absolutely unsettling, INTENSE

The girl who plays the Wildling, "Karsi," Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, is actually a very beautiful Danish actress, singer, and dancer, kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZIiCj65tp6qteLQ.html (she was in, "Pitch Perfect 2," and, "Automata," etc.) and although she only appeared in this one episode, after her scene opening her eyes when the Night King raised the dead, her role has since become an iconic moment in the television history of Game of Thrones. I hope she appears, (lol killing Winterfell children,) in season 8.

These guys work sooooo hard to give such a high quality contents to their fans. I regret that I haven't took a subscription of HBO to at least give my part of respect for them as some money. But I didn't because my father won't allow it. And I feel sad as they don't show ads in between so that they can earn more through the show . On top of that it is the most pirated show in the world which further decreases their earning . But still I have bought some original GoT stuffs ,to give my part to them for giving me such an experience.

This is my favourite scene in all of GoT ❤ It shows the real threat...the real war...the great war...and that only this war matters because the army of the dead is un-stopable and will be the doom of all mankind!

That’s one thing I’m very happy with about the GOT fans.....we all have our opinion of how the script went but NOT ONE OF US can complain about the visual effects of this movie. Those people are the real winners of these episodes. Unbelievable! When the actors even say ‘it looks real’, that’s a huge compliment to those departments. Great job!

Hardhomme episode is the absolute best thing that ever happened in the show that never happened in the books. Honestly, it might be one of the best ever regardless book or show. I say that without book 6 or 7 having been published yet, but I believe it will still stand by itself after TWOW and ADOS.

I never thought about what might have gone into this episode. GoT brings the movie quality action and effects. Its pretty amazing to have a production like this.

the effects and behind the scenes are even better than the show itself! one thing that bugs the crap out of me though, is that when they are in the north, its supposed to be super cold but you can never see their breath!

This is such a great insight to the whole working crew, it shows how amazing everyone contributing to the show is. The work is massive but we rly get the feeling they enjoy every part of it. Thats why I dont complain when some episodes dont satisfy me 100% (s8e03^^). All this crazy work and it is free to watch. Makes you want to buy all seasons haha.

From LOTR/TH, then GOT. I love watching the behind the scenes. :)

@@ATXrollerblader The Hobbit used a shit ton of particle effects. Not as much as Lord of the Rings, but that's because the damn movie studio was forcing Peter to make these movies faster. If Peter had been given the time he wanted to make them, they would have been on par with the original trilogy.

Still the best Game of Thrones episode to date just ahead of BOTB.

How is it that most of the filming crew are actually very good-looking/handsome?! Omfg))) They're so amazing. Eyes are lit with passion for profession, for art of what they're doing... It is easy for us, fans, to forget HOW MUCH effort, attention, labor, inventiveness, professionalism and TIME creating a show of this scale demand! It's really necessary to appreciate all of this. All of respect to every person involved in creation of Game of Thrones (and other amazing shows).
