ive always thought that Jon having the plot armor in the battle was meant to be in the story, like the plot armor is meant to be ridiculous since he is "chosen" to survive or whatever.

@@joeysalazar98And you could totally make it work. Jon’s chosen to be the one true king or survivor or whatever you wanna call him. He’s chosen by whichever gods: the Lord of light, the old and/or new gods, etc. Jon does not take any pride in that whatsoever because he feels that this means that those around him are going to die no matter what and that he has no power to stop it. If it’s meant for them to die so he can live/prevail, then it’s meant to happen. He has extreme moral dilemma over this. Hell maybe he even gets reckless about it by trying to do more things alone, thus resulting in even more people dying. Or even trying to save people from death only to accidentally overlook something else that results in more death. All of this comes to an arc for him where he has to realize the true meaning behind his importance. He has to realize why him prevailing over everyone else creates a balance. If you look at Jon throughout the show, he was never just straight up cruel or soft. He was understanding and forgiving when he needed to be and he was strong and just when he needed to be, never being too weak and soft, or too cruel and apathetic. Hell, he helped dwindle the conflict between the watch and the wildlings. Not only that but that, while yes people will die, they died for him. That fighting to protect the living means having more people alive to fight FOR. Idk I’m a dumbass and it’s midnight, I just think it would make for a good moral dilemma and character arc for Jon, if done right😂😂

That’s a classic movie trope, big strong bad guy knocks the hero around rather than a finishing blow for no reason. There are a few instances where you can excuse it as toying with their victim, but it’s even done with cold calculating enemies, like the white Walker here

It's actually a joke among stunt people that hitting and throwing someone is a sign of plot armor.

jamies hand scene is the only plot armor im fine with. I actually really want him to do that to then build into him using a 2nd knife hand after realizing how op it can be to have an arm that can detach into whatever tool necessary

yea Arya surviving being stabbed I the stomach several tike then falling in a dirty river. did they not dump their feces in the water in those times? shes dead if not by blood loss then by infection. Hell Khal Drago died by an infected cut. Robert died by being gored and this little teenaged girl survives multiple stab wound and someone twisting the knife to boot. shes dead from major damage, blood loos or infection

Definitely more of use than a golden hand, but he'd lack the necessary wrist movements to fight properly, so chances are, he'd be better off training with his left hand either way. Though attaching a shield to his right forearm would at least give him some extra defence to compensate somewhat for the skill loss.

Any idea how much the wrist is used in battle? It'd be almost useless. What wouldn't be useless iss a slightly larger round surface that would function a bit like a buckler. It still wouldn't be as effective as a handheld centergrip shield due to the same lack of wrist movement, but it'd actually be tremendously effective at deflecting attacks. Get a 2lbs arming sword or broadsword and a buckler for a hand and you'd legit be a menace, especially if you armor the right arm even heavier, especially the forearm. Can even get an entire gauntlet. You'd basically have this ''Haha, fuck you very much'' waving around in your opponent's face every time they try to slice you.

Ok but can we all just talk about how much plot armour Daenerys has throughout the entire series? Look, I adore her up until the cursed season but let’s be honest here: Jorah, Barristan and her dragons are all literally ex machinas that exist for *her*

The last thing was neither a clap nor plot armor though. They didn't punish John because they all understood that he did them all a huge favor by removing a rising dictator. They only expelled him to preserve some semblance of ''rendering justice'' but in reality everyone knew he did the right thing otherwise Daenerys would burn the whole world. It's the same reasoning as why Katniss wasn't punished for killing the new president who would be no better than the current president Snow.

Always been a big believer that they should've cut away at the start of the battle of bastards to Sansa and then littlefinger rides up to met her. They have some dialgoue and watch the battle from a distance. That way the viewer can still see what's happening but has no idea what happens to John. The show exposing itself to plot armor moments is what made it questionable, but you can use people's imagination to make them wonder what's happening

The mountains whole character is plot armor

I will never get over fight scenes where someone either grabs someone they have no reason to grab or, in a grapple they are clearly winning, throws the dude they were previously pummeling to death about ten feet away so they can catch their breath and re-arm, all while the other guy slowly walks up to them to... do the thing they were just winning at doing.

It's such a cardinal rule at this point in any action movie that when a main character gets jumped, they tend to be thrown/tossed so they have a chance to draw their weapon and fight.

Yeah, they should have killed off all the main characters half way through the series.

Remember Jon Snow was revived by the Lord of Light. Jon was actively being protected by the LoL and so I don’t believe he had “plot” armor but more divine intervention.
