I want this whole playthrough animated like a TV show, where Danny is in our regular universe, but somehow gets warped into the Pokemon one, where he meets Arin, and since Danny doesn't have much knowledge of Pokemon, Arin has to tell, rage, shout, and fangirl everything about Pokemon to him. The more I think about it, the more I want it to actually be a thing.

That would be hugely expensive, unfortunately. Animation costs a whole lot. Even if they got the world's worst and lowest-paid animators, it would cost at least $10 million to do the whole series.

There were kid's books about the movie - basically, parents paid for their kids to see it multiple times. To picture how big pokemon used to be, picture the automotive industry in America now, and compare it to the 1940s when EVERYONE had a car and EVERYONE wanted MORE car. That was pokemon back when the first movie came out.
