He took his Brother with him in his mind. It's pretty incredible what he achieved after losing his Brother on that climb.

I’m so glad that this was posted. Reinhold explains his progression. I’ve always wondered at his mindset and how his adventures progressed from the Nanga Parbat tragedy. I love his outlook and how he overcomes life’s setbacks that would debilitate another person. He truly is an inspiration.

He was my hero when I was 15 and began falling in love with climbing/mountaineering and I am 61 now and he is still my hero

Great post. As an older person this is how life is, you have to keep reinventing yourself as your life and body changes, I call is plan B, or C etc.
