I’m in the process of moving into my own craft room. I’m blessed + getting the sunroom which is upstairs and the wall space is minimal because of all windows! I had to get rid of so much and honestly - it was stuff I loved but never used! I donated over 50 punches! I was just overwhelmed! I use to hate spending on organizing instead of stamps + dies but I’ve learned my lesson! Stick with it and you will be surprised at how much more you end up loving the space!

I used a large set of plastic drawers for my ribbon storage. Mine has wheels on the bottom to store under my craft table. It has three drawers. I got mine at Walmart but have seen them other places as well. This has worked well for years

Gosh, I WISH I had a master bedroom-sized Craft Room. I would be dehydrated from all the DROOLING I would be doing every day I walked in there. hehehe

The crafty organizer on KZread has a lot of storage ideas. I recently organized a lot of little wood items in food storage bags that will stand up in a box. You insert a piece of paper that’s just a little smaller than the Ziploc bag and you label the type of item at the top of the paper, so it’s at the top of the bag. Then suck the air out of it as best as you can so it takes up a little amount of space.

Those plastic white bins from Dollar Tree are what I use in my toddler classroom. Their toilet habits are individual so every couple of months I use a dry erase marker on the front and write current toileting habits. This way if anyone fills in for me they have all the details. The marker washes off with no color residue.

Courtney! I used to work at Micheals, and the craft room sink would get messy with paint. Scuba it with powder cleaner and a scrub daddy or scrubber of choice. (try and keep the paint out of the drain) . THEN, use baby oil on a soft cotton ball or disposable cloth. Rub down the sink where you get paint. Wipe off the excess. This should make it mymuch easier next time

My dream craft room space. I wish you had that space. I have too much stuff and finding a good place to store them that is visible for me to see and know what I got is hard. I am going to try to organize my storage shed as an overflow area so I can downsize my supplies. I love the craft table idea. Thank you for sharing and great ideas I see for my craft room. Courtney, I use those narrow picture shelves for my ribbon. They have a lip and hold the rolls. That way I know what I have and what I may need. My brother in law made them for me and made the bases about an inch wider than a store bought one. Easy to make, easy to paint and easy to put up. Win, win, win!

The only things I might add is a fold out sleepable recliner, pillow and small refrigerator. And close access to a bathroom. Then I wouldn’t have to leave when I get on a craft binge. 😂

You have so much space, you’re very fortunate! I have a small bedroom and I have used every inch of available space and it’s still stuffed🤷🏼

My whole house is as big as your craft room. 😅 Lucky you.

In my craft room I use similar cubbies to hold up a 4’ X 6’ table my husband made. But, instead of the backing that came with the cubbies I used white pegboard. I hang my Cricut mats, all the metal wreath shapes from $ tree, and anything else that fits.

Your craft room is amazing. My craft area is 1/4 of a two-car garage. I have nice metal shelves which hold 90 percent of my crafting supplies. Only issue I have is my craft area is seasonal. I live in Maryland and its hot in the summer and cold in the winter. What i came up with was a movable cart like you have and I put items and projects in it and work in the house during those hot/cold days. I call it my crash cart. I like your idea for a craft desk. I have something similar to yours where I have 2 plastic 4 drawer towers and for the top, I used the cut out of countertop when my dad put a new sink in my house. It works okay but I like yours better. Thank you for that idea. Great organization ideas and hacks. Love from Maryland

Confession I have so much ribbon I put it in a chest of drawers!!! 4 drawers and 2 to 3 deep of ribbon. That adds up to a LOT of ribbon and strange how I have just a few of a color and of course that's the color I'll need, Somewhere I got a over the door hanger for acrylic paints. It has room on both sides and with paint bottles being so small it can hold a lot and YES its full 🙂 Thanks for sharing us your room. You've done some good organizing and cleaning. It seems like its a work in progress. I have a 11x11 room and the other room too and use it as my inventory overflow room, hahahahahaha

What a super great craft room. I have big messes thru out my house. I live alone, but would like to be organized one day. Have a very small craft room with Michaels furniture that kept falling apart. I do have what I need for your last desk you created with the cubby shelves. Very, very nice room.

My craft room is 12x11 and very chaotic and disorganized. I just had my granddaughter remove everything today so I can try and declutter and get organized. I did have the same size room that you have for my craft room but my granddaughter moved in and took that area over.😞 Now I’m trying to cram stuff from that size room into the smaller area and it’s not fun and it’s very overwhelming but I did get some good ideas from your video.

Wow Courtney. That room is massive. Great ideas. Small spaces will require some overthinking to make good use of space. Vertical storage and using wall spaces are key. For ribbons you canpurchase a tension rod to hold multiple spools either hung on the wall with command strips (apartment friendly) or utilizing the tension feature within your windows. I enjoyed your video very much. One thing I do with all my bottles of paint is I store them upside down so the color shows and then group similar colors. It takes up the top of a rolling cart along with my paint brushes 😊

when we built my addition, the RE appraiser asked Bob if I was going to include a sink. I hadn't thought about it nor drew up the floor plan to include. There are days I wish I had but I don't have room for one anyway. LOL My kitchen is less than 50ft away. Great ideas. I've used a lot of the cube storage units as well as 3/ 5 shelf book cases when we designed this space. Of course, I have no wall space. LOL If there was wall space, I put a big window for natural light LOL... Love the idea of the rope lights! Creative Blessings!

OMG Courtney - when you opened the drawer with all of the dollar tree wood cut outs, I swear I thought you were at my house! I have the same drawers! 😂😂😂 Great tips! Love the video. ❤

You should store your paint bottles upside down. It will save you on having to swab the top for the cooler but it will also have the paint at the top for when you’re ready. Especially the bottles that are running low and you have to shake and smack the paint to the top of the bottle when using. Storing them upside down will save you that trouble.

I’ve tried that and actually didn’t like it. I have a little gizmo that I put my paint bottle in when I’m ready to use it and it moves all the paint down and I just have ti squirt it out.

@@CreativeontheCheap can I ask what the gizmo is called? I store my paints upside down so the paint is near the top when I’m ready to use it but I am always afraid I will find a mess in the drawer from a leak, especially after my kids use the paints for school projects. Lol

Remember to have good ventilation! Especially if you have lasers or other machines that have the possibilities of fumes.

All these huge rooms look nice but ya know?? I prefer my small room hence not having to get up and down to get stuff. In all these rooms, I'd need SKATES! lol

Courtney, I didn't realize how big your craft room was and i absolutely love it. The Kallax system and other organizers are great from Ikea i love there store i could spend a week there and find something new every time. I have used their Trofast system before also You have more than one size of bins to use, i think they come in three sizes. Love the peg board idea however my loft space is probably the same size as yours but as of yet i have not much high wall space i can use as it is a loft space. I have cubbies but not all cubbies are created equally i have found very frustrating. I bought 3 nine cubbies from Walmart and i bought doors and peg boards and dividers from Michaels and they do not fit so i got creative and used then as they were intended and just cut them down. Why can they not make cubbies a standard size i will never know. Right now we are in the middle of Winter and we only moved here in October and the loft nor the garage below is insulated so its well bloody freezing in there so i have brought the stuff i need and brought them to the house to work on them. now i didn't realize that my markers and paints pens and stuff like that will also freeze so i had to bring that all inside too so now my sun room and living room looks like a craft room or a bunch of boxes i haven't unpacked yet which is driving me bonkers right now but it is what it is. great craft room love the space and my fireplace is coming into my craft room until the spring cos i still have to sort the rest of the things that need to be unpacked so i can find everything. I am never moving again. Great episode love the enthusiasm i cannot help but smile when i am listening and watching your channel, by the way i talk to myself too.
