    but the ability to browse other people's games is there. it's mygarage.games that's the website that's going to list most of the best stuff, all categorized, and everything. You just have to find what you want and type in the code. Maybe there will be other sites as well, but that sounds like the central location to find great new games to play and share what you've made. There's also the Game Builder Garage subreddit, and you can be sure that if something is awesome people are going to share the game codes there.

    I bought this for my 9 year old as a summer “educational “ project. My 6 year old year old is the one whose taken to it the most. The tutorials were good for him, and he learned the steps. He finished his first programmed from scratch game today. It’s pretty similar to the tag tutorial game, except he made the characters shoot balls at each other, and the end goal is grabbing a treasure chest. He built it in about 3 hours after only doing 2 of the tutorials. I think for kids it’s going to be a fun game. For $20 it’s already been worth it.

    11:11 In programming, the “level” (low to high) refers to how close you are to what the machine understands (binary). “Low” is languages like C or C++ or even assembly language; Game Builder is right at the other end of that spectrum, and about as high-level as you can get.

  • @andrewcosmicanimations8709

    @andrewcosmicanimations8709

    3 жыл бұрын

    It certainly is a mess here, but most people will end up sorting everything. Programs like Unreal engine and the Substance texture programs use nodes to create animations and textures, but you can change the shape of the lines connecting the nodes and even create a box around a specific group of nodes that do certain things, like you can make a box that contains the controls, or one that has all the building block parts of the setup. They don't need to look like this cluttered mess here. Hopefully you can clean these things up a bit and Nintendo are aware of this, otherwise making games in this is going to be a bit messy.

    but is something like a metroidvania, with unlocks that help you progress in other areas, or an RPG with gradually increasing stats even possible with the way games link? I'd assume they just take you from one game to another without carrying over any data, but I'd love to be wrong.

    Gonna make an early port of Friday Night Funkin to the Switch. I have experience on making mods for 5 months now so I think I can handle it. I am gonna use the game's source code as the basis of the code used in GBG. Notes: First and foremost I am gonna try to make the game as age appropriate as possible in order to meet Nintendo's standards of Code and Conduct in order for the game to up online with no worries. Changes include guns being replaced, swear words being removed/replaced, violence being toned down etc. While you can't record your own music in game builder garage you can make your own music in someway. If by any chance link me samples of the games note composition so I can create the music beat by beat perfectly. The music may not be 100% identical to the original game, but it will be an effort.
