At least you're the most honest DOOM Eternal fanboy. Eternal is honestly just another run of the mill generic action FPS with dumbass platforming from a Mario or Donkey Kong game. It's a slightly faster version of DOOM 2016 with worse graphics and more cartoony visuals and has worse multiplayer. I can't remember a single story plot or beat from Eternal other than "You go to Hell". The only character that's memorable in Eternal is that man with the glasses whose a DOOMSLAYER fan and he was funny and cool. Now The Last of Us Part 2 as much as I hate that game I can remember literally everything, both the good and bad because it was entertaining and dramatic. It sure as fuck ain't no masterpiece but it sure is a lot deeper than "Go from Point A to Point B and kill demons". The violence and blood and gore is way more graphic and realistic and makes Eternal's look like pussy shit. The Last of Us Part 2 is one of the most violent games I've ever seen. It reminds me of the realistic violent and gore from Max Payne 3. DOOM Eternal feels so run of the mill like every other power fantasy all the Halo games while The Last of Us Part 2 has you also playing as the opposing enemy. This is a concept done rarely but The Last of Us Part 2 is a much more interesting game than DOOM 2016 1.5 and well frankly you can kill dogs in the most grotesque ways possible.

The studio that crunched their workers into massive overtime and sent someone to the hospital because of it won best game direction lmfao.

Best uninspired game of 2020: The last of us 2

I have to agree, Last of Us didn't deserve GOTY. I didn't like its story direction, its more - less repetitive and boring combat, and the character decisions. Doom Eternal had much better gameplay, story, and all in all it was a way more fun to enjoy. Same with Ghost of Tsushima, and even Final Fantasy. My personal GOTY was Doom Eternal, but I understand why Ghost of Tsushima got player's choice. The Gaming community should be the only ones deciding who wins Game of the Year. Not game judges or journalist, no matter what game wins. I understand that these Game Awards are not to be taken seriously, however, Game of the Year awards are about honoring the greatest games of that year, specifically chosen by the gamers who have played or watched them. I think its sad and pathetic that we have even gotten to this point in award shows... They have lost all my respect.

Agreed. And Not here to hate or anything. I love Joe and the show. Been a fan since the beginning. But he can not be more wrong about TLoU2. You can see in his playthroughs. Joe went in this game with a closed mind and came out the same. Maybe, if he had not spoiled the game to himself before release or if he had gone in with a little bit of an open mind, i am sure his opinion on the game would have been different. This game is nothing like the Last Jedi or GoT. I still hate b9th of them passionately. But for TLoU2 I hated the ending when i played it but i had an open mind to give the creators a chance to explain themselves. And after watching their spoiler discussions. I have to say its an unique masterpiece. Every gripe Joe had about logic and narrative Naughty Dog explained themselves why they made those decisions in those spoiler discussions. Sad joe doesnt see it.

It's a 5.7 tho. And wasn't the game review bombed by like 50k accounts in the first 3 or 4days? Like i can legit remember it having around 45k negative reviews and 8k positive reviews the first week the game came out. When the trophy for beating the game was at lower than 1%. Now it's at 60%. And there are 60k negative reviews and 80k postive reviews. Also the star system on the playstation store shows 4.5/5 from 10k reviews. Maybe stop living in a fucking bubble and just acknowledge the fact that maybe people like the game and the people who don't are a very vocal minority.

In fact, the leak was so damaging that Sony forced Naughty Dog to release the game as soon as possible, to preserve sales. The leak revealed cut scenes, major plot points, the _MISSION LIST,_ character deaths, character changeover, romances, major battles and parts of the resolution. Then, a few days before launch, the first 3 hours and then the first 8 hours were leaked. On launch day, the ENTIRE game playthrough was available to watch on KZread and Twitch. Furthermore, the ENTIRE game had even more storytelling and execution problems. There was plenty of publicly available and leaked information to accurately assess the story. Many of the criticisms were supported and strengthened when given full context. It's a very disingenuous argument to claim that the negative user reviews were illegitimate, given the historical leak. The game was completely blown open by launch. Most of the launch day reviews were _*legitimate*._ The 'review bomb' excuse is a lazy cop out argument.

Having worked in EU for the past 10 years they are forced by law not the goodness of their hearts. Plus there are ways the employers make you not time in your actual time to protect them from the laws, there are other practices too so trust me you only got to hear nice PR stuff to make them sound nicer than it was. I love how gamers have double standards for CDPR and Naughty Dog, they both did shitty practice with their employees, can we agree on this at least?

@@ParzivalTheThird Don't get me wrong, TLOU2 definitely deserved some awards, like the Innovation in Accessibility award. But it got the Best Narrative Award when the whole game is just a basic revenge story? It has a story that says "killing is bad and won't fix anything" but forces you kill people anyway. It also got the Best Audio design for basic current generation third-person sounds and ambience, when the other nominees like Doom Eternal use their sound to increase the satisfaction of gameplay tenfold and prevents it from getting old. Furthermore, it got the best Game Direction Award even though it was just more of what we saw in TLOU1, when Ghosts of Tsushima and Hades are completely original, beautiful games. Basically, when a game wins 7 out of the 9 awards it was nominated for, especially when the other nominees did the criteria for said awards better, then it's rigged. People have been saying that the Game Awards pick one game to shill for each year and I don't think that's fair. I mean, just imagine if Doom Eternal won the Best Narrative Award, even though it hardly has one. That's the unfairness I'm talking about.

Not really dude, the gaming community is just too big and most of it is not very vocal. That award only represents the opinion of the specific community that visits that site and votes on it. For example, the golden joystick award's goty is also decided with the votes of the community and tlou2 won there while it lost to Tsushima on here so it really isn't that easy. Half of the people who play video games don't even know these awards exist or just don't care so nothing really represents the whole community's voice.

@SaiMarProject95 Theres nearly nothing SJW about the game itself. Only sjw thing I can think of is Abby's physical appearence, but that doesnt really matter at all in the grand scale. Its the story and characters that ruined Last of Us 2. Those are the biggest reasons why its hated.
