Gambas al Ajillo Spanish Garlic Shrimp Recipe

Gambas al Ajillo, a classic delicious Spanish garlic shrimp tapa.
Garlic Shrimp Gambas al Ajillo Recipe:
1 lb of jumbo shrimps (~about 8)
12 cloves of garlic finely sliced
4-5 dried hot chili peppers or 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 tsp paprika
salt & pepper
½ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp chopped parsley
toasted thick crusty bread to soak up all the yummy garlic flavor
*tip: slowly cook over just only medium heat to prevent burnt garlic and to extract as much garlic flavor into the oil and shrimp!

Hello! Used Tuscan bread here in this video! Tuscan, baguette, ciabatta and really any other favorite thick sliced crusty bread works great on soaking up all the yummy flavor!
Hey I have a question. When I follow your recipe, the garlic gets burned (brown, dry) by the end of cooking. What can I do to keep the garlic not burned?

Dont cut them too thinly or reduce your heat

Nunca ví tampoco que le pusieran limón. A parte de eso la ejecución fue perfecta. Hay quien le agrega vino blanco y aquí en Málaga le agregamos pimentón.

Because in Spain it's typical to dip bread in it and eat it as if it was a sauce, it's very flavourful

Soy española! Y esta receta es española y en realidad se utiliza más aceite , pero el recipiente correcto es una cazuela pequeña de barro! Nunca una sartén, el aceite de oliva virgen extra le da un sabor único, y no es un desperdicio usar mucho! Todo lo contrario!

I think it would be lovely over Spanish rice. Maybe no lemon, possibly? What do you think about cilantro instead of parsley if I’m using cumin in the rice? Thank you so much for making this video and the helpful comments. This video was creative and labor intensive. Thank you

I ask because I’m gluten free-although the bread looks delicious and lovely for dipping
If you slice the garlic to thin it will get brown/ overfried and Will taste bitter.

Thin slices of garlic. Add the shrimps when they start becoming golden. Overfrying them depends on the time you fry them.
Garlic shrimp without wine isn't very Spanish.

You can drink whatever you like when eating them. But there's no wine or lemon on the recipe.
Please don't pour lemon on it.
