It's a bit of a dump, actually. Very boring, not much to do other than go to the beach which is often brownish. The Ms Gulf Coast is a lot nicer, and they have real Southern hospitality there.

I agree, I have been to Galveston a couple of times and its not much to do. Although it remained one of my favorite places to go in TX. I have never been to Mississippi Gulf coast but I hope to go soon. Thank you for watching and I hope that you subscribe to my channel.

Not sure what's so "dumpy" and "boring" about it. It's basically just a playground for Houston. One can overnight fish in Galveston. High school kids can overnight camp on certain beaches. It has an entertainment pier. It has aquariums. All sorts of eateries and bars. "Boring?" I mean, look at the unique Strand storefronts where people are strolling and enjoying like most any other tourist type areas. But certain folks just like to spout off and be negative, I guess.
