He's a solid character if you don't have Huohuo for pure fiction. As a break effect build character, pairing him up with Herta, Himeko, and Ruan Mei is basically auto mode in PF

Keep in mind, it's relative. 75% outgoing healing is the max you can get, IF you have 150% Break Effect, which is doable, but you gotta remember that his base healing is low on purpose. It's almost a requirement for you to have the minimum 150% BE in order to play him properly, otherwise his healing is negligible. He's a mid unit, which is expected of a 4-star, but since he's new and people like how he looks, he's just being hyped up.

The reason you're having a hard time is because Sam reduces healing by 90%, meaning any character that does Flat or %Healing will only heal 10% of the regular amount. The reason Gallagher is able to heal through Sam's fight is because he has OutgoingHealing% built into his kit, up to 75%, which is a lot more than the other healers. That being said, his base healing is really bad, so it's almost mandatory to have 150% break effect to maximize that OutgoingHealing%. To explain, the regular formula for healing is: (Stats * %Heal + flat Heals) * (1 + OutgoingHealing%) Notice the second half of the formula. It accounts for outgoing healing, but most Healers have a very low amounts of it built in. Most OutgoingHealing% comes from the Body piece or LC. Some 4 stars have a little bit built in with their eidolons, but none have nearly as much in their individual kits as Gallagher. So, when you fight Sam and he goes into his fire mode, the healing formula changes to this: (Stats * %Heal + flat Heals) * (1 + OutgoingHealing% - Healing Reduction) The only change is the addition of Healing reduction. If you don't have any OutgoingHealing, 90% reduction straight up reduces the multiplier to .10. For Luocha, he has no built in OutgoingHealing%, and if you normally use an ATK/HP% body since he already does so much healing without an OutgoingHealing% body piece, that means that when you plug his numbers into the formula, it's also: (1 + 0 - .9) = .10, which is only 10% of his healing. Gallagher, even with no OutgoingHealing% body piece, has a potential 75%, so the number would be: (1 + .75 - .9) = .85, or 85% of his regular healing. A stark contrast. That being said, you can easily replicate these numbers with Luocha by replacing his ATK/HP% body with an OutgoingHealing% body (about 35%). You can also give him Passerby 2P for an extra 10% Outgoing Healing. Since Luocha already has high numbers for healing, as well as AOE healing, plug in those numbers to get: (1 + .45 - .9) = .55, or 55% of his regular healing, which may be a lower percentage than what Gallagher gets, but with high base healing, it's comparable or even stronger than Gallagher's healing during the Sam fight. This is to be expected since Gallagher is only a 4 star. Definitely get him if you don't have Luocha or HuoHuo, especially HuoHuo since she uses Passerby 4p by default. I use my Luocha with Cowboy set and Speed set, so he has absolutely 0% OutgoingHealing. After I swapped him to a maxed out %Outgoing Healing body piece, he did more than enough healing to survive Sam at 45% of his regular healing.

That'd how I'm gonna build him, sounds more fun than standard healer IMO, you already get a massive Healing boost from his Break Convertion anyways and while it would obviously be stronger with a OHB body it sounds fun to just go for ATK/crit/Speed so he has good personal damage.

he’s also very good for kafka dot because break effect will lend itself to very strong burns when break and when stacked with ruan mei, he actually buffs her damage which is kind of insane

If you can reach high BE without his Lightcone, sure. Multiplication allows for more turns, which gives more SP and energy. Post OP is only good for the ERR, but you should be fine with just an ERR rope. And I don’t think his ultimate benefits from the healing bonus

the thing is that the healing that he provides its only an emergency healing (which is impressive) his main roll is to sustain through weakness break

If you can get enough break effect on him without the ftp LC seems like at e1+ Perfect Timing should be his BiS since he’ll automatically have enough effect res to get the maximum effect. Multiplication also seems like it’ll be really good on him.

Still looking forward to your official guide. Edit to back up that Gallagher is awesome. I’m at Equilibrium 4 so I can still go higher and I’m not focusing on artifacts heavy. But facing Sam…in one move at 70%-ish HP the dude knocked out Ratio, Black Swan and Serval. From then to the end Gallagher was chugging RC colas and bare knuckle boxing and kickboxing a mech like a god!

Honestly if i get enough copies of him pulling for Acheron i might actually put him on the team. I plan on running Welt on the team and his action delays can really prolong Gallagher's debuffs. Will be interesting to see how it plays out

Because my almost 180 pulls is going to be Acheron banner and LC, i will 100% going get an E6 Gallagher. Also, +30 pulls on Anniversary which make it 210+ pulls, so….Genshin Could Never.

specific 4* aren't that easy to roll, its on average 40 pulls to get a copy. hope you get lucky

Damn... if i do not have at least E2, he'll be rough. I do plan on having Gallagher as the the healer for a 2nd team since i have huohuo.. Honestly like the niche value on him

I really want Gallagher, and at some point I will use him when I get him. Unfortunately, I don't want to risk getting Acheron since I'm saving for later characters, so I'm going to have to wait to get him from the event shop and maybe if they add him to the glitter shop or whatever that is. Or just after I get the characters I want-

How, exactly?

He's quite nice, and since I'm trying to get my Queen Acheron (on which I don't have high hopes since I already pulled Spakle...) so if I get him, I'm gonna use him of course (since I only use Lynx as a healer)

As an Abundance main I could cry. Very excited to pull for him, he may even make me less sad when I fail to pull Acheron T-T

Love his design! There is something to be said about him yawning and looking done with life in the background during the intro tot he video. I wasn't sure if I was going to build him but after this video I guess it will come down to: do I get him + at least two eidolons while pulling for Acheron. If yes then I will if no I'll probably hold off. Too many characters to build, not enough resources.

i got him e4 (pela e3, hopefully e4 soon) while pulling for acheron (68 pity rn 50/50) and im a big fan of his character design so im glad i have a reason to use him!! wishing upon a star to get him to e6 this banner

He look dope! I just hope he will be usable for harder contents like G&G cm10-12, can't wait to try out new comps

As an E0S1 Luocha haver I’m probably not going to try to hard to get him but having an additional option for healing is always nice

There are rumors that Trail Blazers next class will be able to restore enemy toughness - if it’s true. Gallagher, Xueyi/Himeko, trailblazer and Ruan Mei will be a fun team

Considering my 4-star luck the past few banners, I'm gonna be lucky if I even get E0 Gallagher, which feels rough considering how key his eidolons seem to be to his intended role in teams (although in reality he'll likely only ever be free standard banner tickets for my account).

You can pick him from the 4* selector during 2.1, so you really only need 2 copies to get to e2 👍

I love this! If I don't manage to get Aventurine, Gallagher is going to be my sustain for Dr Ratio.

dang i really want his eidolons and im glad he's on acheron's banner but it all still comes down to my 4* luck lmao

gallagher combo’s really well with acheron because both his ultimate and powered up basic attack inflict debuffs

"might be harder to get him than getting Archeron" and you were so right Brax xD I got Archeron, not a single copy of him and got flooded by Pelas that I already have maxed out :_:

Free 50% effect res from E1?! That's pretty insane for a 4 star unit.

Basically a unit for dr ratio, because FuAs heal aswell so it really helps with his utility, he can basically replace aventurine in a dr ratio-topaz-sw/pela-aventurine team. Its crazy how they are upgrading and making our f2p king, dr ratio even better, we got a new set for him and a new f2p unit for him (Since we can get gallagher for free in 2.1 main event) we also have a really nice f2p Lightcone for him, wich is the herta one that makes him really good since you only need to spam crit dmg basically
