Tech With Brett : I never saw the 🍪 emoji before, had to look it up. I was just referring to the "Oreo" cookie representing 8.0.....If you meant, how to also get the Octopus, just tap a couple of times on the Cookie picture, followed by a short hold on it. I'm pretty sure you already knew this, and am sorry if I caused any confusion ! Apparently the emoji 🍪 refers to something other than the Cookie I was referring to. Please excuse 🙄....I think I have mentioned in previous comments, I'm a bit long in the tooth, and Tech is very new, (however rewarding & fun), to me, lol ! Thank you for replying 😉. S7 edge has a small notification poping up.... but s7 i dont see anything after update? Its just the normal full bar. Can some one tell

Do anyone have docomo ntt s7 edge SC-02H and got the update ?

I have an S7. I started on Marshmallow and didn't know updates changed OS. Now I have nougat and still hate some of the changes, but I always refuse the Tmobile updates. My husband's phone got updated to nougat when he took it to the store and he wasn't happy about that. We're happy with what we have now and hope we aren't forced to change or tricked into changing with the annoying pop up when texting.

Thanks. Glad you agree with me. Even small changes irk me like the icons. They weren't as nice anymore. And Marshmallow had a better world clock that I loved to play with the Earth on it. They need to stop changing things that aren't broken. I'm new to cellphones so I didn't know they changed things like they do on websites. It was quite the shock to me as I was so happy with my phone right out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy S7, that's awesome. It sucks it's blocked. I looked into downgrading and even how to reset the phone to factory defaults but never figured out and and didn't want to risk it. So now I ignore that update pop up and do my best to not click it ans I REALLY don't want Oreo or whatever the current one is. These things just get worse and worse. As for the globe I had found it but it's not the same. The old one was nice because I think it used to show time zones. You clicked on a city and everything in that time zone lit up. Plus some other features that just are now bland and not as good on nougat.

Why you are not turning of the popup thing if you don't like it? 🙄 And downgrading is really simple for samsung devices. You ned the Rom, Odin and your phone in Downloadmode. It's only one simple step and you get 6.0 back if you really want that.

Sebastian Pissinger Would hardly call it "one simple step", you have to get the right rom, and make sure your computer works well with the drivers. I had to go into some startup settings or whatever it's called to allow unknown drivers to be installed, I think.

How's the battery life compared to Nougat bro? I've bought a 5 month old S7 Edge and it came pre updated with oreo and in my experience i hate the battery life. I don't know if the battery really is just degraded or it really is just because of the OS. I just want to know if the battery life is the same because if not, i'll downgrade it to nougat. In the battery settings, it's estimated battery life is somewhere between 16-18 hrs. Is it similar with yours?

Have you noticed that the battery doesn't last as long as it use to on nougat?

has anyone figured out how to disable the message and phone pop-ups? its really annoying. it pops up even if im in the conversation in the messages app.

Still got mine.Not used as a daily driver anymore since it got replaced by the Note 8 but i like to keep them,got all of them starting from the S3 all the way to the S7 edge all in mint condition.

Brett I got the edge lighting to work when the screen is on the always on display for whatsapp. Go to whatsapp setting, notifications, popup notifications and select always show pop up then scroll down to popup notification again and select always show popup 😁

Speed and stability is about 80% better. Battery, I'm getting about 30 mins longer of screen on time. Some people have different battery experiences, but after about 2 weeks, it should start to level out

Yes it is released. In the video I had a Sprint phone. Check for updates in your software. You can also update with Smart Switch on your computer.

Was it there before? When you are in the quick panel see if you can edit and move the item up.

I'm having the same problem with the edge lighting when the screen is off

I need a phone in 2019 and im thinking about grabbing this, is that crazy? I really dislike that every phone on the market today is 18:9 or taller aspect ratio, i watch youtube or twitch more than anything else on my phone.

Is the estimated battery life got shorter or just the same as the nougat? I'm still using the nougat os on my S7 edge.

It should not change any of the data that you have on your phone, however, it is always recommended to back up your Data before you do a large software update.

I noticed the microphone icon on your S7 edge but after I updated my S7 I can't find it anywhere for Google Maps or texts. Do you know where it is or if it's been disabled with the update?

You may need to update the Google app or make sure it has not been disabled. Also search for Google Play Services and see if that app has an update.
