Mine is over 2 years old and is still faster than the newest iPhone like you said and the original battery is still amazing. I had an iPhone 5 before (the Samsung is a hand me down) and I'm amazed at how much better the battery is I'm not charging it 3 times a day

for the s4, I'd say go for it. I have one and the screen is awesome. 1080p Super AMOLED. I rooted mines and now I'm running cm11 on it.

S4 is not a budget phone. It is a high end phone with very high specs. S3 is budget phone to play 3D heavy graphics phone

only proves that phones kinda hit the speed max in 2013, so no point in upgrading from s4, note3 or htc one if speed is your main reason

the note series is samsungs top of the line. I went to note edge after my s4. It is a greater experience with solid features, plus multitasking is smooth.

During this test i copied actions on my S4 with cyanogenmod 11, and it was really faster then S6 with stock (nice firmware smasung).

Surprised at how close they are in speed

I have both of these except my S4 is white and my S6 Edge is La’Fleur and runs Nougat

i have an s4 and could get iphone 6 but chose s4 because screen bigger same speed and storage expandable and better camera

Edge is faster and has power saving mode as well as a nice feel to it plus it has a finger print scanner n better resolution as well as brightness

Martin Milenov End of life. I have the S4 as well, planning on keeping it for a 2 more years, but if I was to buy one now, I wouldn't get the S4 simply because lollipop would probably be the last update for it

My galaxy s4 tmobile won't update. I checked and all it says is its up to date.

Fingerprint scanner , water resistant , 2K screen , android 6 and up , and the edges , That's all ! i have the S4 with snapdragon 800 which is a beast of a phone still i just wished it had a fingerprint scanner.....

+gweragew gweragaw it could be something to do with the counties rom that you have or maybe he just has more apps installed. I have the i9506 which is the s4 clocked at 2.3 ghz, which is the international LTE model.

For your information, the Galaxy S4 suffers from the same bug as the Galaxy S6 does. There is a mod for the Galaxy S4 to fix this though (Lollipop memory leak fix). After having applied that, the apps resume just as fast as the Galaxy S6 Edge did in your video.

Nice I got a galaxy s4 white version on verizon wireless on 5.0.1 its much faster just wish I was able to get it sooner. I wonder if verizon will release any new updates for this phone or not.

Snapdragon 600 is still completely capable, can match anything from 2014 and this year and the best thing about it is it keeps the apps running in the background, something SD801 and 808 don't do.

Wow! Im surprised the 2 year old Galaxy S4 is still decently quick compared to the S6 edge. If I had an GS4, I could probably hang on to it till next year! Looks like it can keep up with todays phones for at least another year (based on this video). And its running Lollipop too! Not too bad. I'm currently on a Galaxy S5 (still running Android 4.4.2!) And its still quick with its 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 CPU. If the S4 is still this fast now, my S5 should still be good till when I can upgrade next year in November!

No offense but u should do the Internet test separately , the s6 might be taking the advantage over the s4 when using the extra signal power of the s6 WiFi card, u should redo the Internet test individually with a timer to make things more fair , just saying :)

S4 clock is running faster if you look at 2:50 s6 catches a few seconds later :) also main clock and top clock have diff times on s6 around the same point of vid
