Something no one ever mentions about Samsung is the kids mode.. my toddler steals my phone all the time and I can put it in kids mode where he can only use the apps I approve and add.

A kid (and, especially, a toddler) should not play with a phone to begin with, that's bad parenting

As an iPhone user I love it what Android has been doing lately. Not a fan of the AI photo feature since I prefer real vs fake but that's not an iPhone vs Android thing to judge. In general I'm pretty surprised with what Google and Samsung are currently offering although I'd have to put Samsung above Google because they're just so versatile with their products. From regular to pocket size to tablet size they got a variety of people covered.

Thanks Ella, My new S24, {in the dark looking cobalt violet} has been basically lying here by My bed; waiting for us to get aquinted. So far, I like it. I traded in My Z Flip 3 refurbished in mint cond, (never activated) wondering if I made the rite choice for ME. Samsung was offering a premium trade in amount torwards any 24 model; which paid for the S24. I like small phones. I am glad you made a review specifically of the S24, and from one of My top two fave reviewers. side note: with the port at the base and the other speaker on top, whatever eq you adjust it too...too ME the fidelity is as premium as My iPhone. Which, I consider the best ~ thanks again

Thanks for this review you totally right the sharpness is very reduced. It seems too blurry for me most of the time so I have to ajust the sharp. It looks more natural but sometimes its too blurry compared with what my eyes sees

As a long time Samsung user and I love watching both iPhone and Samsung featured devices and what they introduce. I sometimes am tempted to try something different by moving over to iPhone but it seems like a huge pain in the butt to get used to the other side. I hope Samsung introduces a similar Face ID that is as reliable as apple and i'm curious to learn more about why the iPhone lasts as long as it does. As I understand - Samsung introduces and utilizes super fast charging whereas Apple users do not have that fast charging time. Why is that? I'd be curious to do a deep dive on the battery technologies and how they differ. Anyway - that was a mini rant on my curiousities of both platforms but I love Ella's reviews on the Samsung devices. :)

The regular S24 is a thing of beauty. And works really well for gaming. My only compliant is camera qauality. other than that its really well put together piece of tech.

One thing I notice on s24 is that the sharp edges on the phone does hurt my hand. It’s uncomfortable, just need a case and it is solved the problem.The s24 is a small device but with awesome performance and cameras. Two downsides I experience are the battery life and the temperature. The battery drain fast and temp easily gets warmer when using mobile data and bluetooth on. (I have exynos version). With that such price it’s just a great deal compared to s24 ultra or even iphone 15 pro. Btw, It’s just my opinion. Great review from you ella!!

Exynos is crap! I bought rather last week S23 because in my region S24 has Exynos... I hope next year they use Snapdragon in all phones in S line 👍🏻

Why do you need bigger resolution on such small phone? 99% of people can see absolutely no difference between 1080p and 1440p on 6' inch device... I'm glad they stick with 1080p for better battery life! This display in real looks georgeus 👍🏻

S23 and S24 have same camera hardware and only differences are from processing. (Exynos S24 differs some from Snapdragon S24)

Great review! I like the S24 overall, no glitches like my Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel7, but my S24's battery life has been bad. I get anywhere from 2 to 3.5 hours of screen on time even though I only text, occasionally call and check emails and social media. I don't game or watch videos. It's a new phone but mine has the same battery life as my year old Pixel 7. I tried turning off adaptive battery but haven't seen much improvement.

You better get your phone checked out if you are only getting 2 to 3 hours sot with light use....I get 9-12 hours sot on my s24 ultra with heavy use

This happens when you use smart switch. Sometimes, it messes the battery up, I'll advise you to do a cache partition wipping and then charge to 100 and discharge toallty a couple of times or do a full reset of the phone without transferring the setting, just transfer your contacts, messages and whatever doesn't attached to settings and you'll be fine.

I guess you're lucky regarding the market area. In EU, for example, S24 Ultra comes with the SD 8 gen 3 and S24 comes with the inferior Exynos 2400.

@@lggr2261 it's worse. Slower cpu, worse battery life, different isp, it's not really even in the same ballpark as the sd 8 gen 3 is. I think it's a bad move to sell it as the same phone with the same price and not be blatantly open that it uses a different, objectively worse SoC. Whp cares about GPU when buying a phone? Not a lot of people. And the snapdragon has a better GPU too. If you consider the difference small per category, yes, it kind of is. However, it adds up throughout all the metrics and specs and the overall paclage is significantly worse than the SD.

I got the phone last week and my pictures are mid at best. You didnt mention too much about the camera that I was hoping, but is it just my phone? or maybe im just doing it wrong.

This might sound stupid, bit what font do you use on the S24? I prefer it much better than the default on my S20 FE.

my s22U now has an amoled burn/greenline and i'm tempted to get s24 base but i will miss the spen. I wish samsung will bring back the small note10 🙂

Personally, the oneplus 12 is my favorite phone. i just wish they'd be more serious about the length of the software updates, couldn't care any less about the camera.

Buy S24 ultra for sure or rather S23+ with Snapdragon Gen 2 but no Exynos.

one thing samsung did, the s24/s24 plus in our region do NOT get snapdragon, they instead shipped those models with exynos 2400.. and the track record of exynos just aint it so if you can get the snapdragon version sure...

How about in gaming is it in par in iphone 15?

Great phone. I would prefer for it to have the non reflective screen of the ultra, but I still love it.

Samsung sells the non reflective screen protector on their site. It works quite good.

Did you test the function of the antenna?. Here in the UK the s23 is terrible. You may say it’s because of the network provider but that just isn’t the case. The s20 was exactly the same. It’s ok having all these other great features, but a phone is a phone at the end of the day and should not be compromised.

My opinion: if u really want that 7 year OS support then u can choose S24, or else S23 is still a great phone. It's the best small phone since the S10 and is now in very good price

yes, but if you are coming from apple it is a bit hard to locate the settings. but if you are an android user in general and or a power user you can enable the developer settings, in it, there is a toggle to "force dark mode" in my testing almost all modern apps today are able to be forced to use dark mode using this setting.

@@abedbert8744 Galaxy watch does not have force dark mode setting, however all apps I own on my galaxy watch are dark, that's just because the developer of wearOS apps build the app to conserve battery.

When the S24 base model has the 8gen3 in every region available than it would be perfect. But in my region or Europe only become the Exynos processor and that is not bad but also not better than the 8gen3

I'm still very happy with my Galaxy Z Fold 5, but I do like the small changes they made to the S24 Ultra. My next phone will probably be the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

I love my s24 it's the best overall phone on the market today

I bought an iPhone 15 Pro 2 weeks ago, and I really want to return it. Good Camera, but too many things, which makes my experience or usage not enjoyable at all. Keyboard too small, no LED for notification and the flashing thing is just a pain in the butt and can cause akward situations, because people think you take secretly pictures of them, the fact that I can not make my own folders and putt the app icons in it, or when using for example tiktok, when I upload a video and write a description, I don't have a button to minimize the keyboard and always have to touch somewhere on the screen, and when there is no free room, I end up opening a menu or another field to put a text on it. The Battery is a joke, 30 min of tiktok and over 10% of the battery was gone. I expect more from something at that price. I am thinking of switching back to Samsung, even though the last phone I used from them was the Galaxy S3. Too slow on updating apps, really slow, and battery a joke too. I then bought a OnePlus 6, which I am still using since I can't get used to the iPhone, but since I won't get any more system updates there, I have to switch. Not sure what to do.

I wish that green was an option when I got my S24. Ended up choosing the purple color

I think you forgot built in DEX support. you only need an USB C to HDMI adapter. and the S24 turns into a full blown computer with a full desktop. and android apps. all you need is a monitor. Have a full computer with just your phone every hotel that you stay in. I got mine for just $10 a month for 36 months. an 800 dollar phone for just $360. sure beats spending $1500 on an iPhone max.

How I have my texts read through my Airpods using my S24?? I miss this feature on my iPhone and took it for granted

Recently got S24 in India so exonys here. Was an iPhone user iPhone 13. Wanted a change so shifted to S24. Disappointed with the camera performance especially macro shots. Am basically a doctor so had to take a lot of pics of documents and medical instruments. Very blurry images. No improvements even after software update. Got shifted back to iPhone 15 plus. The camera issues were not with S24 ultra.

Honestly surprised at the S24 battery life since my S22 lasts maybe 4 hours of constant use

The s22 had a bad exynos 2200 chipset, you could have bought the s23 with a snapdragon 8 gen 2 chipset😊
