Drops are unpredictable, I have not used Apple nor I want to. I have had Samsung and Sony phones, and I would definitely go with Sony for durability, my Z2 withstood so many hard surface drops (like rocks in the mountain and ivory floor) that it made me look in awe my phone. On the other hand, my S6 Edge plus that I got that year got 1 drop from the car into concrete and give away on the first drop! On the second drop a few months later, my phone's screen stopped working; and those curved phones are a hassle to replace.

Wolfman Proboi That's why I said that drop tests are unpredictable, it can hit the ground very hard and not break at all; but if you barely touch a soft spot on the glass it WILL crack.

After 2 years of flawless operation, my Note 9 hit a small rock when falling from about 1 meters. It killed the lower part of the screen and got the phone to make random "touches" often. But, it was still somewhat usable. A few days ago, I got a used Note 9 to replace it, because I was dearly missing the Note 9's functionality. At a local shop, it fell out of my hand, display down straight to the stone floor. I was terrified and so was the shopkeeper. But alas, no signs of any damage (sigh). These things are though, but have their limits - keep that in mind.

I tested this on my sisters note 9 Now I have to buy her a new phone

I dropped my note 9 off my bathroom light by my shower bout 65" -7 just screen protectector no problem. But it killed it of the tub ledge in inch of water had to put it in my heater 4 an hr. Ive had the Note 8 since it came out. I just recently got a case for it lol. Ive dropped my Note too many times. The screen NEVER cracked, but the back did only once and it wasnt too bad.

What phone does he use? Just curious

My biggest problem is i never drop the phone on clean concrete theres always a lil rock or pebble that hits the screen and then its over with

Might as well countdown from 1 and drop at 0. That would make much more sense.

It would still be ok if the Note9 had a 30USD back glass replacement

Had a Note 9 since it came out, its resilient to drops but NOT applied pressure on the curved edges. For example my phone cracked and kind of looks like a spider web on left top 2/3 of the screen, no idea how it happened pulled the phone out of my pocket to find it like this (i also had a tech 21 screen protector and case on at the time). It cracked a little more badly this time on the 1/3 on the left bottom part of the screen this time spreading right across the bottom part of the phone and stretching to the top. Great phone love it, just be aware i dont think the edges cant take much pressure!

My iPhone X (with a case and screen protector) got a crack when it slipped off of my leg when I was stretching. So, it dropped from a little higher than knee height and with a screen protector got a crack in it.
