Galadriel's Prologue LOTR 1.01 [HD 1080p]

Lord of the Rings. Fellowship of the Ring Extended HD 1080p Xvid AC3. Watch in 1080p fullscreen, enjoy. Medivh.
I amar prestar aen, the world is changed
Han mathon ne nen, I feel it in the water
Han mathon ne chae, I feel it in the Earth
A han noston ned gwilith, I smell it in the air
much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.
It began with the forging of the great rings.
Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings,
seven to the Dwarf lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls,
and nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else, desire power.
For within these rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race.
But they were all of them deceived, for another ring was made.
In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master ring, to control all others, and into this Ring, he poured his cruelty, his malice, and his will to dominate all life, One Ring to rule them all.
One by one, the free lands of Middle-Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some who resisted. A last alliance of Men and Elves marched against the armies of Mordor, and on the slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of Middle-Earth.
Tangado haid! Leithio i philinn!
Victory was near. But the power of the Ring could not be undone.
It was in this moment, when all hope had faded, that Isildur, son of the King, took up his father's sword. Sauron, the enemy of the free-peoples of Middle-Earth, was defeated.

Such as this war right here , the fall of Numenor , seeing sauron shape shift and losing his power only being allowed to show his true form (aka what he looks like here ) The death of isildurs brother Anarion , Minas Ithil turning into Minas Morgul , isildur taking a seedling on the white tree in Minas Ithil before sauron nearly took the city so he can plant it in Minas Tirith (the tree you see in return of the king ) Gil Galads death and Thranduils father's death , the making of the rings and of course the Nazgul/Ringwraiths and many more happens here in the Second Age .

Any minor changes made were not out of disrespect for Tolkien but simply put some characters (like Tom Bombadil) and some of the passings of time between events just wouldn't have worked for a 3 movie project. Of course, Orcs and men from the South fought for Sauron then as later, the latter for grievances back to the days of Numenor, so there were those who proposed to benefit from his victory and establish themselves in the northern lands.

QCMPhys The Fall of Numenor would probably be more a political movie than an action one. Its about power corrupting the last king and him being manipulated by a captured Sauron that they destroyed the city. It would be a great precursor for the battle of the last alliance movie, since Elendil and Isildur escaped the flooding... UglyChampion It would probably be 3 movies. The Last alliance was a campaign of battles. It lasted seven years from the gates of mordor to the steps of mount doom.

The battle of Dagorlad lasted about 12 years, then the siege of the Black Gates lasted a few weeks, then the Isenmouthe lasted pretty short too, at last they besieged Barad Dûr for 7 years untill Sauron himself came out to take on Elendil and Gil Galad personally at Mount Doom.

And I had read LOTR about 5 times by the time it hit the screen. And never had I seen such a great, fantastic, stupendous adaptation (and to the Tolkien fanatics who hated the movie, you do not appreciate how hard it is to take a book and turn it into a movie and keep faithful to the source material for the NON fanatics. You have to put butts in seats. I am sorry not every single word of the book was put on the screen, but that's life!). What is mind blowing is how many ways the film COULD have tanked! Bad acting, bad script, bad special effects, bad score...you get the idea! Think how effing hard it was to not only get it right, but how WELL it was done! The music (I almost cried when I heard the score and ANNIE EFFING LENNOX for the finale song! Chills!) was fantastic.. AND IT MADE THE MOVIE! Sir Ian McKellen was SPOT on (IMHO). Elijah Wood was FRODO! Gimli and Legolas! And the Balrog? I kept thinking at the time "Should kids see this?" The heat trail and fire in it's throat were fantastic as was the whole "Bridge of Khazad-dum" scene. And Boromir's death? Tears! Peter Jackson with the help of Fran and Phillipa, GOT IT RIGHT for those of us who LOVED the book and LOVED movies and understood it could not be a complete word for word adaptation.

RoP's rendition of Galadriel is actually better than the movies. Galadriel is written as more of a warrior than she is depicted in the movies. She fought with the fall of the Noldor - the rebellion against the Valar. While she actually fought for the Noldor she defended her mothers kin against Feanor, first king of the Noldor and "fought fiercely." Flight of the Noldor took them to the Cruel Hills of ice where she was the only leader and lead a defense against the armies of Morgoth. She wanted to fight in the battle against Morgoth but instead protected the Kingdom of Doriath. She then departs over Ered Lindon and its assumed she fought against Sauron in the Second age due to her actions in The first age, Thus Ring of power depicts her as a warrior since the show takes place in the second age. It was not until the Third age she, AND Elrond both "retired" from being warriors and are what we see them in the movies. Do some research before slandering what you don't agree with in the show.

BECAUSE SHE'S NO WARRIOR. Your argument of her staying back is also bullshit. Page 101. Her name (given to her by her husband) also means maiden crowned with a garland of radiance, her hair is so beautiful that a single strand of it is all that Gimli asks for as his gift from her, meanwhile in RoP her hair is as dull and uninspired as her generic boss girl warrior woman depiction. She was far more of a Leader than a Warrior since she ends up creating 3 different elven kingdoms. How she fights is up to interpretation but leans towards either actually being a commander or using her magic since that's what she does at the battle of Dol Goldur when she bests the Necromancer in a contest of wills and brings down the walls of Dol Goldur, instead the showrunners decide that only being a few thousand years old makes her a hothead and having been trained in magic by the Valar somehow means she'd be better off just using a pointy stick when she fights. That's not even touching on how they ignore the kinslaying and it's implications and the ways in which they've rewritten her to almost assume the role of Feanor in some respects.

I didn’t know what lotr was when I saw the trailer for this movie before I think Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man. And the trailer wasn’t shot great so I wasn’t too impressed. Thought it was just be another big blockbuster with action. And this was before we googled or Wikipedia’s everything I was still on a dial up connection so I didn’t bother looking up more. But when I sat in theaters on Christmas Day 2001 and this scene my jaw dropped. And I was basically drooling the whole movie. I left that theater forever changed. Begged my parents for an extra Christmas gift and picked up the trilogy which I read in less than two months followed by the hobbit. And I’m obsessed with quality cinema, television and literature ever since

That is actually an important line. Sauron was a powerful being before the ring -- on the level of Gandalf and Saruman. He put a lot of his power into the ring. That did increase his power, but made him vulnerable to the ring being destroyed. At the end of LOTR, when the ring is in fact destoyed, Sauron crumbles and his army is destroyed.

20 years and nothing has come close. And nothing has matched the epicness of Tolkien's work since 1954. I suspect it will be a long time yet before anything surpasses this.
