@@ianerikson3185 you are so right, there are so many different ways it would be made worse if made today. The way it was shot let the top-tier cast deliver great performances that can be enjoyed by the audience, that simple magic is missing in so many modern films.

Just one question. Why was he driving? We already established he was piss drunk in this scene, and Kevin Pollack driving while he fumbled to climb out of the window to make his point wouldve been a better shot.

how drunk was his character supposed to be when he was driving down the street trying to find Jo? (I have seen this movie at least 4-5 times and never thought of that....I suspect at the time it probably flew under the radar since driving intoxicated was still a little bit normalized in the early 90s - which has changed quite a bit to where it is now)

Was I the only one who was thinking why Kaffe was soaked and wet when first got in the house, I know it was raining but he has a car and it's like he was walking in the rain, and also why did Galloway just took off walking in the middle of the rain as if she couldn't be called a taxi and last, why did Sam let Kaffie drive when they went to get Galloway when it was already understood that Kaffee was drunk! So the irony here if a cop would've pulled him over that would have been a Navy officer who happened to be a lawyer in the JAG! LOL!!!! I LOVE HOLLYWOOD MOVIES!!!!

There are several levels of drunk. I had been like that before, still coherent, just a bit wobbling and more bold expressing myself, exactly like Cruise was here. I sort of lost track of how many shots of Jack Daniels I took, but half of the bottle he was holding there probably could get one into that state.
