Good to see you again Gail. Glad you are staying safe. :) After years of espresso based drinks, I've gone back to pour over since the lock down. I purchased a Hario glass dripper from SCG last month to use with my mahogany drip stand. There's something very peaceful and therapeutic about watching the flow. It's also so smooth and comforting. :)

Love, love my coffee. I typically rotate between 3 different Blue Bottle fresh roasted coffees and make them using my Breville Barista Express, a Bonavita 1900 auto-drip, Kalita Pour Over, Chemex and French Press. Each brewing methods brings out slightly different notes from the coffee which I love to explore. Gail thanks for doing these videos with your team. Stay safe.

I got a 51 once Bodum french press, one of those fancy water purification pitchers and 5lb bags of Brooklyn Coffee french roast (which I have to grind, no big deal) I let it sit for 24 hours and then store it in a glass milk bottle, its right there in the morning & is sooo good! really rich and flavorful, never going back to store bought, thanks for your videos!

13g! I feel like a glutton with my 18g (I used to do 22g). I love the RV videos. I upgraded to a better burr grinder about a month ago so have been using the Encore. 18g coffee, 288g water; around setting 10 on the Encore using the Able Kone filter for the Chemex. Took some tinkering, but I like the taste and silt-level with this grind setting.

Hi Gail! Help! My wife & I are both working from home in STL during the COVID-19 situation. My wife loves her lattes, and we needed an espresso machine to make it through... after watching a ton of your videos, we went with the Breville Bambino Plus. Had it for about a week now... we went and got her favorite coffee beans ground to an espresso grind setting at our local grocery. With trial & error, I got the milk steamer to the correct temp and foam, no problem / easy. However, I am struggling with getting the right volume / pressure of grind into the double pressurized basket... the pour comes out uneven and weak tasting? I tried applying more pressure into the tamping and got almost no pour, but when I lightly tamp, it’s too weak? Any suggestions?

For me, French press in the morning (don't want to wake up the whole house with the racket of the Breville machine), then espresso in the afternoon. I use a manual grinder for the French press. This way, it is a lot less noisy, and I don't have to muck around with the espresso setting on the Breville grinder). I put table cream in my tea and coffee, because half-and-half dilutes too much for my taste. Really want to try pour over sometime. BTW, what's your RV's model? I really like the kitchen space with that coffee counter.

You bring up an excellent issue Gail for those in small apts and RVs, conservation of space and utilizing items that are multi-purpose (which cannot always be done). This said, isn’t there a prosumer level compact burr grinder that easily switches between 2 or more settings (espresso and pour over). The Rocket Appartamento seems perfect due to its size and the Hario type pour over system takes up little space. PS What type, make, and model RV do you have? What state did you retreat to (NM, AZ?)? Stay safe and enjoy your morning cup!

I bought some organic cotton pour over filters on amazon. They work great and you can use them hundreds of times. Before your first use, place them in boiling water and simmer for 20 minutes. This will remove any lint, particles, etc and prepare them for coffee brewing. They make very tasty coffee, in fact I can't tell the difference between the cotton and paper filters. Hope this helps. :) Here is the one I purchased: www.amazon.com/dripper-Reusable-Handmade-Hide-Drink/dp/B01I03JTKK/ref=sr_1_24?dchild=1&keywords=cotton+pour+over+filter&qid=1587399936&sr=8-24 There are also filters made from hemp which are popular as well. :)

I make my morning coffee with a chemex but lately I've been drinking less because I heard the factory that makes the filters is shutdown.

That's where the Able Kone comes handy. Love Ethiopean coffees with it specially natural processed.

Hi Gail. Haven’t heard from you in awhile. Hope you’re doing well, virus free, and vaccinated. Like many fans, I would love a new video or two. Best wishes from the San Francisco Bay Area. - Tim
