I can't even blame Gaby. She's technically lost her child three times. (I haven't watched all the episodes so it could be more or less) During that miscarriage, when the girl who worked at a strip club took back her daughter, and when Grace left. So when Grace left, the pain and feelings from that and her prior experience made her get a doll to replace that pain.

Your memory didnt fail you. Gaby had miscarriage, Carlos' cell mate helped her get through this. Even with the best help in the world, it stays with you. I've seen that with my mother. She had 2 miscarrages before I was born. I still sometimes catch "this look" when she thinks of it,even if it happened 30 years ago. Later on, Gabby's adoptive daughter was taken away just because the US laws are bullcrap. It's unheard in Europe for a mother just to change her mind after filling adoption papers. And with Grace...well that's heartbreaking enough. It was her daughter, after all. Her flesh and blood. Everyone has their coping mechanism(s). Some drink, some snort coke, some replace lost ones with a doll. I watch clips from DH on daily basis, and sadly, not many people commenting get the whole picture and/or understand that this show is everything but black-and-white for 100% of the time. It's all shades of grey. Just like life.

Actually Four times 1 miscarriage 2 the embriyo exchange where xiao mei delivered her baby but they discovered the embriyos where exchange and the other woman who got gabys embriyo miscarried the child, 3 the adoption was undone and 4 Grace.

With the miscarriage, the embryo exchange, the adoption, grace leaving, Gaby must have been going through a mental hell everyday.

Man, I wish more people gave Eva the props she deserves for her great acting, also the writers gave Gabrielle such an amazing development. Gabby in the wrong actress's hands could have been so different and worng, but Eva knew how to bring the humanity, charm, and pain the character needed. Her character was given some of the toughest and most painful storylines out of the 4 women ( I always thought her and Bree had the best chance to showcase this).

This charecter is amazing and complexe ❤️ love this show

This is the saddest scene in the entire show for me.

Carlos created that entire situation instead of handling it appropriately

He literally erased grace from everything and expects her to be ok with it.

Gabby should have just yanked the doll out of the belt since it’s a doll. She didn’t have to keep attempting to press the button knowing it wasn’t working.

@ParadiseofCouples Thank you. So neither Juanita or Celia is their biological child? Where is Grace now did they ever find out? I remember early on in the show a nurse made a confession before she died and sounded like a baby got swapped ... I wonder if this is the outcome of that incident.

It's just a doll. Why can't she just let go of the fact that her daughter is being cared for with other parents 🤦🏽‍♀️ maybe she should show the same amount of love to Juanita instead of dwelling over the fact that her daughter is gone

Like, she had miscarriage earlier in the show, then her adoptive daughter was taken away from her because the birth mother just changed her mind, and she learned her biological daugher was switched with Juanita? And while at it, understand that everyone has their coping mechanisms that arent exactly healthy and/or considered normal?

@@pamelananua2206 she never stopped loving Juanita, she grieved for the bond she lost with her biological daughter, just as much as Juanitas biological parents must of. And like the other person said Gaby didn’t haven’t much luck when it came to motherhood and everyone has different ways of coping with it. A mother and a child’s bond is something that can never be lost, I’m not saying she didn’t have that with Juanita but you would be hurt if you lost your biological kid, she felt like she lost her again, imagine someone saying oh yeah your kid isn’t really your kid, then you can feel emotions and then finding that kid creating a bond then losing them again
