Desperate Housewives S5 - Carlos' new job offer

Ойын-сауық

A scene from episode 5x11 "Home is the Place." Gaby tries to get Carlos to accept a very intriguing job offer, but he'd rather work with the blind instead. Very funny scene between Gaby and Carlos.

I’m not mad at Gaby for insisting he take the job. She kept the family afloat for 5 years. She sold so much of their things and we all know how materialistic she is. She deserved a break.

A break is one thing. Demanding her husband to take a job that he knows will crish him in order to have fancy shoes and dresses is something else entirely. Also, being blind was not Carlos' fault. Weaponizing that against him is just messed up on so many levels.

@@jesswhycamarz First: She speaks more than one sentence in this four-minute video. Second: I watched the whole show. Twice. You should try watching the show again as well, then you will notice how terrible most persons on this show are. But considering you, a person who defends Gaby, seem to be incredibly fast to assume misogyny in everyone and everything who doesn't agree with you doesn't suprise me at all. You even said she was materialistic in your opening post and seemingly try to use that as shield. Like she is privileged to be materialistic because what? because she is a woman? On a scale from 1 to sexist, how would you rate yourself?

Many rich people and actually actors choose to do well-paid jobs and in their free time they do the job they like (e.g. givin lectures, playing classics in theaters, donate, doing charity work). Having a good job and helping people in their free time is not a bad idea.

Unattractive? Where? xD They just didn't do make up, fancy clothes and hairstyles on her, maybe even changed the lighting. Do you never wonder why everyone on TV is beautiful but you never see such beautiful people on the streets? It's because movie stars make-up costs up to sometimes over a thousand dollars. Most women will look like a knock out after this procedure. Still think that Eva looks stunning, but just more "average"; like a "real" woman.

"You get that job that will crush your soul so I can buy fancy, expensive shoes and dresses again." Gabrielle is a terrible human being. Was funny when I watched the show back when it originally aired, but now, while I am re-watching, I just feel sorry for Carlos. Despite him being anything but an angel, he at least TRIED to be a better person. And everytime he does, Gaby destroys those attempts. But hey, a man gotta provide while his lazy ass wife deserves to have nice things, right? Nothing sexist about that at all.

You again. You do realise your angel Carlos physically assaulted Gaby and a host of other people during the course of your show, right? Do you know that Gaby, who was accustomed to a certain lifestyle, sacrificed that lifestyle for him for 5 years? Do you know Carlos tampered with her birth control after they both agreed there wouldn't be kids in this marriage? Not to mention how he stole from Gaby's husband Victor Lang and hid money from Gaby in secret accounts? Seek a qualified therapist who can help you understand your need to see women suffer and your inability to hold men accountable. Those traits are not healthy.
