Ma'am namaste you are a great teacher .I have been doing urstanna for past 22 years and I never knew so much knowledge is needed to teach one asana . The way you teach I think every one can do every asana. Hats off for your interest to teach 🙏. I am from India.

I don't have a wall with straps but an idea I had to help me into this pose is to sit on heels and lean back to stretch feet, ankles, shins and thighs. I can only get down as far as to rest on my elbows. I know to hold for 3-4 minutes for the best stretch. But starting out is hard. I could not do ustrasana at all the first three days. Today, I can do ustrasana, but I am only holding the stretch 90 sec. I don't know if I should have reduced the stretch yet.

excellent demonstration of camel pose Bikram Yoga would never take the time to explain it like this always such in a rush you can sense that it's more of a business to them and actually caring about the individual needs of any yoga student

Hello all, Actually I am not really fond of this technique. She is creating the bend more in the middle back. If you look at Mr. Iyengar's pictures, he has a deep bend where the pelvis meets the lower lumbar spine. All other parts are bending slightly so that the whole spine is lenghtening a wonderful way. It shows how to keep the spine long in a backbend. Instead if you do the posterior tilt and freeze the lower lumbars, the mid-back curves the spine is not extending in an optimum way. Hard to explain here by writing but if you observe the photos of Mr. Iyengar it would be quite clear. Also Esther Gokhale's article "In Yoga: Bend Back, Don't Swayback!" is great to explain this important topic.
