Gabriel Magalhaes is our best Defender and currently the most complete Defender in the league. He's fast, he's strong, he's a goal threat, an aggressive bully to CF's and an incredible defender.

Actually one of the best ways to stop a great dribbler is by intercepting passes to or from them as it is dangerous to challenge them in possession.

Love the way he knocks and Bullies his opponents every now and then. Such a wonderful defender.

He and Saliba complement each other so well. Gabriel can push up high and pressure opposition attackers with his stature and can step into tackles much higher up the field- this not only completely foils the opponent’s attack but immediately creates a favourable attacking threat of our own. Saliba, on the other hand, uses his pace to be more conservative and doesn’t step into tackle as often. He provides great cover and being the biggest player on the pitch most of the time, he will finally just hound the attacker away from our goal until we get numbers back. Also really liking Tomiyasu’s performances this season. He’s a wildcard- we can go up by one goal in any match and get into a back three with Tomi coming on for one of the fullbacks and that’s the shop closed. No chance any team breaks down this trio

He's one of the best defender in the EPL but absolutely underated. I have always been a big fan of this fella

This comp makes you appreciate just how good Big Gabi has been for us. I'm sure if these were highlights of him at Lille or another club 90% of our fanbase would be wishing that we buy him. Ever present, a Leader, & doesn't sulk when he makes a mistake. Arteta made the ideal project signing when he brought him in from Lille and we mustn't take him for granted. Saliba - Rolls Royce; Gabriel - G Wagon. Perfect combo.

Thanks a lot for the video GunnerTV ! Big Gabi is such a joy to watch, he is so underrated ! For me he was Arsenal best defender in 2022/23 (fullbacks included), slightly ahead of Wilo & Benny Blanco, he made one obvious mistake that led to a goal (vs Fulham IIRC) but he played thousands of minutes and all players make mistakes. The rest of his season was nearly flawless, duel monster in the air and on the ground, while covering a huge defensive area (because Arsenal's system requires it), solid passer aswell. I hope he gets the playing time he deserves this season, not only for Arsenal's sake but for his too, he has earned those minutes.

Gabriel is an absolute beast at the back, he makes mincemeat out of the opposition....... and this includes Haaland in all 3 games that we've played them this season.

Arteta isn't clueless as many of you perceived. We all know that Gabriel is a very good defender mostly his paring with Saliba and if Arteta don't try other means and just keep using these two guys constantly, we might be in trouble if one gets injure. We saw last season when Saliba got injure we collapsed. If Gabriel gets injure too we might face the same problem; so I think the guy's trying to find other options just incase if we have such a problem again. Arteta love Gabriel than any other defender on that arsenal team, the past two seasons we can record Gabriel has been making some silly mistakes despite his brilliance, and that cost us points. I clearly record many fans even call for his dropping by then, but Arteta stood with him and kept playing him and defending him as well. He was even the first guy that Arteta pushed for his contract renewal cuz he knows his potential; so I don't know why you guys keep saying Arteta is clueless and benched him for no reason.

In the first half of the season when he joined I thought we made a mistake. He played on grew confident and less and less mistakes were made. His link up and understanding with Saliba and others have made them a formidable defence... COYG

It's all because of Zinchenko and Timber injuries. He is trying to invert from the RB. Arteta probably wants the team to be familiar with the tactic in case the need arises. Make sure that the team can grind out wins and draws.

When Bruce here has an agenda he will make up things to fit it. Bc Partey was playing rb last year before Havertz got here. The only person Havertz is replacing in the 11 is Xhaka. We need to have other ways of playing than just one way.

I'm not you are aware of what modern keepers are about. They are called sweepers, that's why arsenal plays high line. Any issues of counter or high balls to catch defenders the keeper clears. That's why United got Onana. They are keepers that help the teams in transition
