Randy Marsh I disagree, Cantona only had the better agility. He was no where near as efficient as Batistuta, the dribbling, speed and ball control combined with shot power made him more dangerous than all the strikers except Ronaldo, Romario and Van Basten.

I am a roma fan. I remember when Roma met Fiorentina in 1995, Roma was leading 2 goals ahead. I was holding my breath for the rest of the game. Because batistuta was there playing for Fiorentina. Then, he scored 2 goals equalizing the game. I hated him until he joined Roma in 2000/2001 and won the Serie A. He was the deadliest stiker in the world.

Sachin Antony , you comparing a team who got eliminated in the preliminary rounds with eventual winners of that edition and trying to tease. Every World Cup winner has to overcome some close matches and for Brazil 94 it was the final against a very tough and balanced Italy. I used to be Argentina fan after 86 but eventually realized they don’t have it in them to beat top European teams in world cups. They may win stupid friendly matches but that won’t count for anything. Also they are bad losers. When they realize the game is slipping away , then there is a barrage of fouls , drama. Argentina is not Brazil in football.

A mi entender y como 9 puro de area desde fines de los ochenta hasta casi el 2000 top 3 del múndo y a nivel histórico top 8 o 10. Gracias por tanto Bati! Para mi siempre serás el mejor de todos

Adhiero 100%. Aparte no necesitaba mucho recorrido de pie para pegarle fuerte y era bueno con las dos piernas. Un animal.

He knew the way to the goal more than anyone that i can think of. Both feet, headers, setpiece, chips, volleys. He is one of the greatest finishers i've ever seen. I remember when he went to play in Qatar at the end of his career he broke the goal scoring record that was set in the 80's😂. What a Legend. ❤️

First touch, shooting power, strength, decision making quickness.. perfection! There's absolutely no striker like him today, not even close. True CF! I'm so glad I grew up as a kid in a time when Batistuta, Ronaldo, Baggio, Del Piero, Totti, Henry, Bergkamp, Giggs, Scholes, Nistelrooy, Zidane, Figo, Seedorf, Maldini, Nesta.. were on top of their careers.. Today's football is all about Messi and Cristiano, and if that's not an evidence how football degraded in quality I don't know what is. In the '90s and '00s we had so many players on that level. And now Luka Modric is the best in the world.. Yeah right.. Modern football, or lame football..

I have massive respect for the people you're mentioning but it's absolutely ignorant to say that the current generation of footballers are somewhat inferior to the previous. Grew up watching R9 play, pirlo in WC 06 play, Nedved and Del Piero in their prime. Modric is a genius, and he absolutely deserved everything he got.

Batigol was the best Argentina striker of all time. Check his stats, absolute Legend.

Batistuta scored 169 league goals for Fiorentina in the 1990s- but the crazy thing is that he did this in an era where he was playing against arguably the best defenders in history in Serie A. Insane.

Batistuta is the quintessential number 9 a classic. They do not get better than that. The best the world have seen a true lion heart
