Fact not opinion: Gaara is the best sand ninja.

I know many people are disappointed to see gaara transform into a good person, and they miss the scary, cruel, bloodthirsty ninja he used to be. But I really love this nice, cool, friendly and caring version of him. In my opinion he is one of the most interesting characters and has the awesomest development among all the characters in the entire series.

I think it's great because he finally gets the care and love that he couldn't understand before nor did he have before. People are starting to see him as more than just a kid with a demon inside of him but they are seeing him for who his just like people did with Naruto except the sand village isn't as easy to accept him as the Leaf eventually did. Two different situations tho. Naruto is very vocal about how he feels while Gaara isn't always able to do that which can probably add to some fear. Anyway, he's a great character and I think it was cool that they turned him and his siblings from a group that was against the leaf and there to mess things up at the chunin exams a little bit to becoming the people that connect the two villages even more.

The first series Gaara was so ruthless and cold... It felt like he would tear out your heart and eat it in front of everyone. His voice was also very intimidating, he sounded like someone who would make the dbz villians his bitch. Even his glare shows that of an insane man who never sleeps, never eats, and wants to murder everyone including his family. I think if this Gaara went up against Toph... The entire desert will be painted red and decorated with her entrails. Gaara under Shikaku influence was pretty much a one man holocaust waiting to happen. Good thing Naruto was around or else someone would have to clean up the sand village and pretty much everywhere else.

He would have sucked her into the middle and crush her to death with his sand until she is nothing more than pulp to send to Aang.

I dont think Gaara would be affected by any genjutsu, Gaara is completely emotionless and at this time he thought of his brother (who took care of him) as nothing but a piece of meat. todays Gaara is still kinda the same, except less violent and his sand is so damn tough to break
