I like the idea that Mercedes kept on the same look of G series with minor changes to the exterior, the interior is absolutely nice.
For a car that weighs almost like a Boeing 747 and has aerodynamics of a shipping container,that thing is god damn fast & quick,ohhh and it sounds nasty
I love the AMG G wagon, but the 5.5 liter sounds better honestly.

I'm giving some thought to this car, moving from a X5 5.0. My X5 is quiet at highway speeds and I am curious what this one sounds like in the 70-80mph zone. This was good to hear it but most of the sounds are at high acceleration which is not how you drive it mostly. If anyone has some input I would appreciate it. Thanks

Me: why does the onboard sound at the beginning sound like a friggin v10? (I prefer 5.5 v8 than the 4.0)
Video doesn't do the exhaust justice though, sounds amazing in real life.

A 1979 brick
real offroad car (but useless with this crazy engine) , sounds great, beautiful exterior. I think these new interiors don't fit very well with the car's philosophy, they are too elegant

It's a good point but the main market is people who want a truck with S Class interior. Also huge amount are sold in the middle east where they want the ability for off road with a luxury inside. You can still find the more utilitarian ones on the used market which are still amazing trucks.

Looks slow, shifting looks slow as fuck too :/
I love bit, but the sound is gone. On the outside you hear almost nothing except these fucking fart noises. On the inside you have speaker injected sound. Also the sound changed from deep rumbly to a high reving sound which is just wrong for a g class. Miss the old 5.5 v8
