G35 coupe rear deck speaker upgrades

Hey guys so in today’s video I’ll be upgrading the rear deck speakers on my Infiniti g35,,, the rear deck speakers are used as subwoofers,,, but I’ll be installing a ab amplifier to all my mids/highs,,, which is why I went ahead and upgraded to a 6x9 speaker with tweeters but if your not adding a ab amplifier just upgrade to a better 6x9 without the tweeters...

I see you're also using skar audio. I'd never heard of them before I got a couple 10s from them and absolutely love them. I got a 04 in caribian blue and I love it.

Hey I was wondering do I need an amp for the rear deck subs? I want better bass but I'm not ready to part with my truck just yet. I just want to replace the speakers for now but im not sure if it'll need an amp for power too?

So you are using to OEM amp to power the aftermarket speakers? Why not use an aftermarket amp tp power them so you can get the full power from them?

So I haven’t but I will be, the middle speakers use the same adapter as the front speakers and rear if you get the adapter then it has the terminals already linked on and there is no way to incorrectly install the harness because the leads have a smaller connector for negative and bigger one for positive! I’ll post a video once my speakers come in

Actually, the middle ones are for the highs and mids and the rear deck are only for bass, well since I have the Bose system stock the rear deck speakers are used like subwoofers, so my middle speakers are fairly loud but I’m thinking about installing a aftermarket amplifier to give it some kick!

@@nationaloutlaws4818 so ther's probably something wrong in my car, i've installed morel maximo 602 subs in front and these are kicking hard and clear, and i've installed morel maximo 602 coax as the passanger speaker and these are barely playing:c i also changed trunk speakers for morel maximo 6x9 coax and these are playing cool Just my mids are the problem

So the deck speakers only play bass unless you rewire it to the middle speakers then they’ll play mids and highs which would be best since you have coax speakers on the deck also I would check for a short in the wiring

Excume my ignorance, but why go thru all that trouble to replace the rear speakers if you already have a subwoofer in the trunk? Seems kinda poinless to me.

I wasn’t doing it to get more bass I was doing it to get more treble which = a clearer sound quality

@@trgxjasThanks, dude. I actually just disconnected them Thursday, haha. It has the little extra carpet pieces that just cover the bottom of the speakers. I was able to pull those off and just disconnect both of the speaker plugs pretty easily if anyone reads this later and wants to know. It sounds way better btw. They were clashing with the subs both trying to play low bass.

@@trgxjas I bought a line out convertor thing that you connect to the rear deck speaker wires and it has RCA outputs to connect to a sub amp. That way was the easiest since I kept the Bose amp and stock head unit. Those LOCs only cost like 20 bucks and I already had an amp, subs and wiring. So you just gotta run the power wire to your battery and a ground wire to somewhere in the trunk and good to go. You connect the convertor to the amp to get the sound with RCA cables. I saw a KZread video that shows how but can't remember which one it was.

Can’t you just pry up the Bose covers? I understand there bolted through that deck plate and you’ll probably end up punching a hole in the four corners but the carpet should cover that back up and then just Velcro the covers back down because all that work is bullshit. I mean if it was a new car and I could see going through all the work but these things are 17 years old now. I’m gonna put those infinity kappa csx90 6x9 components

You could probably even slice that deck plate from the speaker forward, and then use mending tape to lay it back down, and not really even be noticeable

Also, running RCA’s from the head unit, can you just run those down through the console all the way back underneath the rear carpet instead of going all the way around to the side panels?

  • @nationaloutlaws4818

I mean yeah you could take the covers off then put them back on with something to hold them and yes you can go thru the middle but depending on your wire gauge it might bubble up thru where it’s inna middle just a little noticeable, I can’t remember if they are or not but I have a aftermarket amp running all of them, I taped the 6x9s to the rear 6.5s so that they would play with the rear and that way when the head unit played left and right specific songs everything would be in sync also the aftermarket amp is running all 4 6.5s and both 6x9s all playing mid and highs
