Weathering fantastic a credit to your skills. As commented below please do a 'How to video'. Even though live in UK with about 30 O Gauge British mainline diesels and shunters thinking of purchasing one of these GP 38-2's a Union Pacific version though with the US flag as looks impressive.

Thanks Hugh. I hope to do a GP40-2w in the future which will be in the same scheme, but will have badly weathered stripes. I'll try to show more of the weathering process when that happens, but it may be a year or two away.

I cannot find on net a single picture of a Union Pacific EMD GP 38-2 with the US flag emblazoned on the bodysides. Is the USA G scale model livery as nice as it is a fantasy livery or based on fact, anybody know?

Hugh, I believe it was only used on the large road units. UP recently announced the end of the side flag scheme. I think too many flags were being burned on the GE units. The weathering is of the charts, you need to do a video on how to do that dam. I am repainting an rs3 to a cn black with red ends, hope it comes out half as good as yours

Thanks Brown Dog. It's a fairly long process of washes and dry brushing. Maybe on a future project, I could give a demo on a single item to give people an idea of how I do things. ( same methods I used to paint 1/35 military miniatures when I was a kid. )

@@CanadianrailroadsCa I took the rs3 apart yesterday and going to wet sand the old paint off and dip some parts. I am going to practice alot on doing the weathering before i do this engine.
