This car is the embodiment of America. And I'm referring to the sheer excess of it. It weighs like a bus, has way more horsepower than it can put to the road and its loud as hell. But sometimes its a freeing experience to just go wild in one of these things. I hope you enjoyed it!

cool, its strange to see a Hellcat in Japan but I'm glad Tsuchiya liked the car. It seemed like the track was too small for such a big horse power car, lets bring it to Fuji Speedway or Suzuka Circut :D Any chance Tsuchiya will be driving a Corvette C8 Z06 in the future?

Sounds exciting. Some say the reason the C8 Corvette is mid engine is because GM has more confidence in their traction control computers. They may have been afraid that in earlier times, a Corvette owner would risk spinning out as much as first time Porsche 911 owner. Having an engine aft of the driver has interesting results.

It's like the mustang argument. 90% of drivers shouldn't not have and cannot handle 480hp on tap, a lot less nearly 800.
The patience and kindness and respect these men are showing for each other and for the engineering and power the Dodge or "doh jay" as they pronounce it is awesome to see. Dodge vans have a huge following and drift culture in Japan and I'm sure that's part of the respect being shown here. I can't imagine trying to get that beast to slide around, I'd be scared to try. Gaaaaawd, you can just feel the weight and wildness of the car just by seeing how much he struggles with it. Usually Tsuchyia can throw around his cars like go-karts (part of why he's my favorite driver), but with the Hellcat, all that weight would probably rip him off the tarmac. It was nice seeing him get used to it. This is why I keep telling my friends I don't like heavy cars. Controllable weight transfer is my friend

Great video! I'd love to see you drive some more American cars. Maybe one that can brake and handle well next time. If you can find a 2023 Corvette Z06 to drive, that would be very interesting. Although, they are more rare than the Challenger Hellcat Redeye, so it may be difficult. But it would be worth it!

Thank you.
I'm surprised DK finds this beast of a car a handful to drive, but I can see in his earlier laps on his first drive that he is already attempting to drift it. Nevertheless, he seems to like it! And, oh: I thought I was going to see a right-hand-drive Challenger SRT Hellcat.

I enjoyed watching DK's take on an American muscle car. However I feel like this car is best suited for drag racing. The muscle cars from the 1960s are even more "dangerous." My dad has a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS/RS with a 396 cubic inch (6.5L) V8 and it has drum brakes in the front! My 1970 Chevrolet C10 truck has a 5.0L V8 with manual drum brakes on all four corners, manual steering, manual clutch, and a 3 speed manual transmission. However, I also own a 1995 Nissan S14 240SX, and recently imported a 1992 Nissan R32 Skyline GTS-25. I love both American muscle and Japanese sports cars!

It is best suited for drag racing, but the wonderful thing about cars is, you can customize your car for what you want.
Excellent video guys. Thanks for giving the hellcat a drive. They are know for being heavy in America too

I have a 6spd Hellcat with 820whp! It always puts a smile on my face. To turn off TC off, put it in track mode and then hold the traction control button for 10 seconds.

The manual must be such an improvement. The automatic seems to interfere in a dangerous way, you never know how much torque you get.. Also with this much torque, 6 gears is plenty I would imagine. Probably woud have been fine with a 5 speed. But I guess in daily driving you skip gears when shifting, right?

Great! As expected! thank you for teaching me. MT cars are fun.
As an American this is the coolest thing ever, just watching DK drive a muscle car and giving his input is so fascinating to watch 😁💯
You should get your hands on like one of the 06 ford gt’s or maybe one of the new ones watching your reactions to our cars is priceless it looked like you had a lot of fun which made me smile

this is so cool! Redeye Challengers are so cool in the US! I think the owner should look into getting street-approved drag radial tires Like Mickey Thompson ET Street tires because at this power level, only drag tires can properly set the power down in a straight line. Of course it will not handle as well as the Michelin PS4S but with drag radial tires, you will not spin as much at higher speeds so it will be safer. If you come to the US, most 600+ hp modified cars will have drag radial tires. Drag radial tires have no sidewall which makes it possible for the tire to deform and grip the road surface, high performance track tires like PS4S have a very stiff sidewall to improve handling

They only go fast in a straight line whereas the ZL1 and GT500 does both well.
No se que es mas inesperado, ver al poderosisimo K.Tsuchiya en un Hellcat Red Eye, encontras muchos conetarios en español, o que el video tenga CC en español tambien! Te quiero mucho DK!

I love that he is a sensible man and was hesitant, but tried to keep it from sliding too much. With some grippier tires, he could actually use the throttle in and out of turns XD

Anyone else craving an "Initial D: Takumi Goes To America" series now? Also, it looks like nobody told them that you have to hold the traction control button for 10 seconds while stopped to turn off the electronic stability control
