His head sculpt makes me think about making a custom Darth Bane figure from the Old Republic books I'm hoping they make a TV series for Darth Bane or even a movie trilogy for the books

My first thought as well! I am one of those people who know nothing about GI Joe so my first thought was, that even without customizing anything about him, you just could give him a lightsaber and he would look just like a Sith from a 90s Star wars comic!

Does this one change color?

I remember when I was a kid, I fix my and my friend's GIJoes whenever their o-rings break, it is the only thing that attach legs to the upperbody and the crotch is a floating piece. and sometimes switching other body parts from other GIJoes - like switching Snake Eyes' arms to Croc Master's, making Snake Eyes look like he is sleeveless.

It would be healthy for the line if Hasbro made some kind of announcement saying that the unattainable stuff (essentially everything they've released as a Target exclusive so far) will all get additional release. They don't even need to give a release date, just say that a good faith effort is being made with Target to give everything another go as soon as possible. No repaints, no running changes. Just do it again with the proper quantities and say you will be. Simply saying and doing this would guarantee tons of enthusiasm leading up to the Snake Eyes movie release and whatever comes with that where they can undoubtedly make a big splash.

As someone who's never grew up with GI Joe, I didn't know about Drednoks at all and now that I do, I really want a Zanya figure in the future.

I’m hoping for some beefy weapons/head/accessory packs! Not just 5-6 pieces, but at least 10.

I am so glad that I have no attachment to G.I. Joe and that I live in the UK, since it's impossible to find these figures being sold anywhere and I'd go bankrupt if I had an interest in this franchise. With that said Cobra Commander and Firefly are the only two I'd ever consider picking up, Firefly I could fit into my collection somewhere and Cobra Commander is so goofy that he kinda transcends G.I.Joe, both he and Skeletor exist on another plane of existence for comedic mastery. EDIT: just found Zartan in stock at my local comic shop and didn't even realize he was inspired by Wez from Mad Max, now my interest in this figure has skyrocketed since he'll work as a Mad Max reject on my shelf.

I loved the cartoon but wasn't big on the action figures. I'm glad I can collect these now and hope I can find some of those dang Target exclusives!

Back in the day with the three and a quarter inch figures I always thought his hood was actually his hair. And it was made rubbery so that it can hold his mask in place. I would have never guessed zartan was bald. I hope we see his brother and sister in future release

Really impressed with these figures, this is clearly where Hasbro shines the brightest.. would absolutely love to see this attention to detail on Marvel Legends but the licensing costs really hold them back. I don't collect Gi Joe but I always watch these reviews just to see what they did in terms of detail/engineering.

I just got my Zartan and Cobra Infantry- and I love both! When I heard Hasbro is getting ready for a price hike, now is the time to buy from Hasbro Pulse or stores selling them within $2-3 of retail. Zartan has more cool detailing every time I pick him up! A shame on Hasbro for ditching his color change! I doubt it costs any more than glow in the dark plastics. Next time, I hope! I love his armor, shoulder, forearm and leg armor (I agree his hood could really use a bit more red mixed with brown), and his “belly-shirt” is too classic to skip (Everglades get HOT!). Infantry is near-perfect! I do wish the Cobra sigils on his hands and holsters had been painted, but I’ll live. Fun posing! One thing I don’t like is with his double-jointed knees, it’s harder to pose him with his knee pads actually covering his knees when crouching (it’s what they’re for). ***the rest is me whining about reasons behind the coming price hike that doesn’t have any real reason to happen, so feel free to stop reading if truth scares you :) *** The stupid oil industry *refuses* to tell the population exactly how much oil we’re sitting on, but it’s a heck of a lot more to keep the US running *as is* for 200+ years (I know some people...), not counting measures taken to reduce reliance. I’m also very Pro-Fracking. The volcano in Iceland released several hundreds or thousands of “toxins” into the atmosphere than fracking could possibly due in 500 years. Hippies hate facts. We’ve zero reason to import oil or Jack the prices up. And what do volcanic eruptions actually do? Heal the Earth. All the “Global Warming” freaks forgot that this rock has been fixing itself. I look forward to seeing their faces when they realize their efforts do nothing, and Earth doesn’t need us meddling with it to correct its own health. Ozone layer is fixing itself as we speak. I find it especially hilarious to read all of their predictions of horror and killing the globe, using computers and cellphones to spread their message, without ever considering all of the toxins used to produce, transport and run them. They praise solar power without considering how many toxic chemicals and heavy metals it takes to create them. Then they need to be transported (via fossil fuels) and installed (more fossil fuels) by transit machines also built and ran from stuff we dig out of the earth.

Hasbro Pulse pushed my Zartan back to April. Hopefully I will find one sooner. Good review as always. I hope do a video on the new cobra trooper variant.

Looks great, Robo! Fingers crossed my pre-orders aren’t canceled. And I’d gladly pay a premium for a Pulse exclu$ive color changing Zartan.🤞

DARTH BANE CUSTOM HERE I COME!

When the Joe's were around mid-80's I was a huge GI Joe figure collector (thanks to being in my 20's & in my first job) & always felt that Zartan & his Dreadnok crew were a little bit "out of control" for the very organised Cobra regime, sort of like the 'Dirty Dozen' who were let loose on the Joes like wild dogs. Good review Robo, thanks mate - collecting action figures is always fun for me ... but Robo always takes it up a notch with his enthusiasm, making it even more FUN ... NER ?!

Great review! Zartan is definitely one of the best yet. Just waiting on BBTS to send my shipped notification.

Zartan totally needs the swamp skier. I hope I can find one of these, but I already have a FortNite figure sitting in for him, already. We also need some Drednoks and the other Z-family. Zarana needs both her heads. So glad I lucked into the "pretty" version, di not know about the fugly one until years later.

That’s so cool! I hope Hasbro will bring out a 6” version of the POC Desert Battle Zartan. That’s my favourite figure ever (hence my avatar pic).

I missed the original Zartan. So, I got the ninja force Zartan when it came out. I'd wish that they'd make a classified of that. Complete with orange mohawk, bright neon green (yellowish) pants, black leather sleeveless jacket, and neon blue/purple knife/gun holsters, shin guards, and forearm guards. Tacky? Yes. But, I'd love it!

The fire on the boots and the belt buckle design reminds me of the sticker on the back of the 1987 Dreadnok Cycle. Not saying that's what it's supposed to be, but Zartain is supposed to be the leader of the Dreadnoks.

Great review Robo! Hasbro should have build a vehicle type concept with the rest of the Dreadnoks. Buzzer, Ripper, and Torch should each come with a piece of the swamp skier or updated masks for Zartan.

That would make for a good Darth Bane head.

I finally got one. It was a gift. And it came with Scarlett😊👍. And the new Arcee war for Cybertron.

zartan, destro, baroness cobra island w/mortorcycle, viper cobra, storm shadow and cobra trooper blue are a must have...Imo joe's: Snake eyes, scarlett, gun ho, flint or duke, the green guy head i think, firefly, bbq( target/ toy r us exclusive) and shipwreck with the parott if they release him.

I'm KZread channel and I'm loving it it's bringing back a lot of old memories that are fantastic. Your opening of these action figures are superb. You go over to find details and details that I would normally miss. so cheers to you my friend. I was wondering if you could do me a favor if not I understand is it possible that you could set up a quick shot of all the GI joes on one side and all the cobras on the other of the classified series I'm just curious to see how many there are? Did these waves of figures come with playsets or vehicles?

I'm done with the line but watching this review makes me think he'd be great for making a custom Star Wars Sith or Bounty Hunter. Watching the Play Days has got me to be brave enough to try my hand at attempting a custom. Zartan I think is the perfect piece for my first attempt.

I don't dig GI Joe too much, but Classified Series gives me an opportunity to get to know better the characters and appreciate them

Zartan is one of my favorite character designs from the original Joes. He's almost enough to get me into this line, but he's lacking without the Chameleon. If they drop one of those, or we see that mid-90s Snow Serpent release, I'll probably jump on board for, at least, Cobra.

When you are customizing your figures or painting unfinished figures what kind of primer do you use before you paint them I know theirs a primer out there for models so any help will be greatful thank you foowsh sorry for the miss spelling of your name

I hope we get more Drednoks! Mostly, we need a Zarana! Ripper, Buzzer, and Monkey Wrench could easily be mostly reused parts at this point, outside of completely unique head sculpts of course. --- I thought of a clever marketing idea that they could have done for Zartan. Some people would get a special packaging or figure covering or plastic sleeve. Something that could still be moved before opening the box. This would briefly trick the customer into thinking they were sent a different G. I. Joe character. Shift or remove that something (somehow possible before opening) to reveal that it actually is a Zartan figure. You know, because he is the master of disguise. This also would be cool way to tease a new character coming to the line. Say, like Tunnel Rat? Also, I notice those Alley Vipers are still part of the box art. Can we assume they're coming at some point? What if they're the very last figure of this line? Or, did miss their release, already?

Also, I thought it would be cool if Zartan came with his orange hair mohawk as a removable accessory. Maybe we'll get a "Ninja Force" Zartan classified. We only really need Zartan, Slice, and Dice from Ninja Force to return in the classified line. The rest can stay back in the 90's. (T'JBang, Nunchuk, and maybe Banzai would be okay.) Why is his name Zartan? Because, when he's out in the sun. He gets a (biz)zarre-tan. (Ba-dum-tsh)

Zartan's head would make for a good Darth Bane head with little to no painting required. 😱

It's funny when I watch the cartoon as a kid I was like why would Zar can have the dreadnoks? And then I move to Florida and I actually met the dreadnoks in moonlake. Very dangerous and skillful people. Never judge a book by its cover.
