Wife is about men wanting stereotypical wife. the whole song is basically a caricature of those kind of expectations wich is why they don’t lip sync in the music video up until the last few lines when they say “but i don’t wanna” implying something like “this is what you want from me but i don’t want to do that”. Also another shuhua rap in this song wich i love.

Yeah I was kind of picking up the feeling of not wanting to be the idea of that stereotypical wife, I think there were a few lines that were throwing me way off, but I definitely didn't catch the lip sync bit! that's a really neat touch. And between this and Fate, Shuhua got some fire raps this album.

@@Beggerz Yes, I also don’t really understand why Marie Antoinette, I’m just retelling fan theories, and if you really think about it, the playing cards depict real/mythical personalities, for example, the queen of spades is again Athena/Joan of Arc, and the queen of hearts is Judith - a young widow from the city of Bethulia, which, by beheading the enemy commander Holofernes, sent by Nebuchadnezzar, prevented the threat of an Assyrian invasion. This card is often associated with beauty. Which kind of fits the whole point of the video. Perhaps Marie Antoinette surfaced here because of the set of disguised men and the film Marie Antoinette where she plays cards, and again, she was executed by her own subjects on the guillotine, that is, she is betrayed like all the characters in the video)

Its hysterical how much i love wife, not for any tiktok trend u said (im not even on tiktok), but the song is just a banger, the commentary is great (it triggered some koreans) and its hilarious, unironacally i think its genius lol. this album has great songs but the less than 3 minutes song trend annoys me a lot

during the tour, they went to a Beyoncé concert, and this is the result) Soyeon said that Fate had the makings of a title song, but the decision was made in favor of the super lady because of the concerts and spectacular performances, well, considering that the super lady did not receive a perfect all-kill, and Fate turned out to be a sleeping hit and the first b-side track that received a perfect all-kill in general from the entire 4th generation, perhaps she needed to trust her intuition)

You can really see the Beyonce vibes in Super Lady, so I totally can see that, I think if it was a B-Side and Fate was the title, it'd feel kind of weird with how bombastic and crazy the MV / performances were so I kind of agree with her, plus it's super cool how a B-Side got a perfect all-kill, Though I guess I could see saving Fate for another album if they really wanted it to be a title track.

The line that Shuhua is "saying" at the end of the Fate live clip is "I just hate being sick" which is a reference to both the fact that she was sick and that the title of Fate in Korean is...I Just Hate Being Sick 🤣 As for why Wife got banned from music shows...it doesn't really come across in the English translation, but there is a lot of double entendre and slang in there that doesn't directly translate to English, but probably wasn't suitable for broadcast regarding things a stereotypical wife might be expected to do for her husband. The commentary there seeming to be that those things might be what is "expected" in a male dominated society, that's not why they are there.

I'm surprised that you didn't seem to even notice the wildly high pitched (and loud) voice that vocalist Soyeon starts "Super Lady" with.

about wife, there are basically 2 meanings First is about stereotypical wife, how they have to clean, feed etc, that's why they dont lip sync for most of the video, because women are not allowed to talk. Only on last part "Wife I make you feel so high, I make you feel like lie but I dont wanna wife" We can see them singing, that's the pare where they say what they think and that they don't wanna be wifes in this way. 2nd one is sexual, which is also what is expected from wifes and what they dont like but agree for it in the part where they dont lip sync They also wear same, simple outfits to show how every wife is supposted to act the same. So basically they show what is expected from women in sarcastic way and how they dont like it

My vote for next content after the scheduled stuff is done are the Recording Behind videos where you can see Soyeon do vocal direction. There are videos for Nude > Queencard > Superlady. Also, one for Paradise + Peter Pan where you can see Minnie/Yuqi doing that role

@@SylverReacts Totally agree, by the way, Soyeon mentioned in different interviews that among all the tracks "super lady" is the one that best fit as the main track, although "Fate" did very well in terms of Korean charts, if it had become on the main track would have received less support outside of Korea. So in general terms SP was the firm decision for him as TT, in addition to what others already commented regarding how useful it will be for opening events and presentation. 😌

It is a great reaction but, again, it is a bit of a shame that you didnt watch the two brief intro videos they shot for Wife and Superlady. Mostly because they are pretty short (barely 2 minutes together). I mean, one of the things that makes kpop stand out from most of the rest of the worlds music is its heavy reliance on concept. I am in for the music mostly too, but to ignore those carefully prepared shorts that sometimes contextualize the mvs and help tell a story is a bit of a choice. More so when reacting to somebody who si known in Korea as the concept queens. But otherwise, great as always.

Thanks, and yeah it's kind of difficult to find the intro videos when you don't know they exist already, so a lot of times I just miss them unless someone directly points them out. My general approach to finding videos for an album is to pull up the tracklist for an album and then search "[track name] [artist name]" in youtube and pull the MV, DP, Lives, any other special clips that look like they won't get blocked. I also prioritize ones from the official channel, but for whatever reason the little intro videos often times don't come up in search and I don't know they exist beforehand!
