I feel like (G)I-DLE, Soyeon, does not play with award show performances. I feel like they are performing like it's a concert and I love it. Since the first award show performance I saw from them, MMA 2018 with Hann and Latata, they have been killing it.

Now that you've gone through the I Never Die and I Love eras, I highly recommend the MNET Prime Show performances, you already watched the "Villain Dies" performance in the I Never Die reaction. There's also a great cover of PSY's That That, the production is crazy. The interviews are also interesting, as they talk "openly" about Soojin's departure from the group (although they don't mention her name at any point :/). Man the mma performance is just too good. Soyeon was just like alright everyone your all getting a killing part this performance. Minnie's solo voice, miyeons acting, soyeons rap, yuqis guitar solo and shuhua leading the absolute fire bridge for tomboy. Then they were still like hmm we should do more 😂let's get a opera singer? and a marching band? Let's completely rework the instrumentals, let's do crazy costume changes.... Seriously haha. Did you like the reworked instrumental for my bag at head in the cloud?? I love the reworked instrumental, they reworked it for live band at Seoul free-Ty concert :)

the MMA performance was actually performed live in front of fans n' artists all in those brown large pants and black tops except for minnie's intro with the same fit which she immediately changed backstage to catch up with them in the middle of 'nxde' but the parts where they're wearing all black kind of night gowns and the other princess outfits with the 'drummers?' were actually a prerecorded version to upload on MMA's channel and u can tell coz their hairstyles changed and there r fancams of this performance live which tells u everything but they did an extra recorded ver. for aesthetic and concept i guess..but they still performed everything LIVE that day even that yuqi guitar part.. ps: that vcr with the newspapers where it reads "gidle on the edge" and "being forgotten" in my opinion were about that 2021 long hiatus they took as a group after soojin's scandal when people were saying it's their downfall and it's over for them so when miyeon burns those pictures it's them burning their past and those headlines and being born again with the album "i never die" which is self explanatory and then they perform tomboy so it all has a message..

Watching this, makes me want to rewatch their mama 2024 performance so cool!

I was at that HITC festival for (G)I-dle and Atarashii Gakko, BIBI was there too. It was awesome! At some point wife started playing before they were ready and they all scrambled to get into position. Apparently it wasnt on their song list for the night, it was quite funny to watch!

I have mixed feelings about the MMA. Yes, it is a spectacular production and it has the uncensored Tomboy (I wonder if you have listened to it on your own btw) and all... But it does sorta cheat us out of a real live performance. You see, the only live there is the prologue and Tomboy. The rest is a pre recording. They did an actual live performance of all of it for the people in attendance, dressed all the way like in Tomboy (kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZmZswauFYdfRdM4.html and in that one you can see the shocked reactions of the cursing too, they really werent expectig that fucking, or kzread.info/dash/bejne/aGlnr9SoldW5j6w.html).) but on tv and youtube they showed the pre recordings until Tomboy. In fact if you look closely you´ll notice that there is not a single shot of the audience until they suddenly appear during Tomboy. Then you get your sweeping shots of the whole public and even some reactions. It is a nice production that I am glad exists, but I would have preferred a real live on set recording, with the audience participating visually at full force. I Love videos i Would recommend: There is an encore of a music show where they were using nude-gimbap as fake microphones just for the sake of it, and then the music suddenly stopped playing and they just decided to continue singing anyway. I can understand that, between the VCRs for Change & the prerecording it doesn't feel so much like a full live experience as it could've, but it was still really cool! first of all the concept for their song like Nxde and Tomboy are totally different so they had to do vcr performance since they had to change their outfit to save time. So they had to do vcr. Lots of artist do this last time even bts but irl they performed too at the stage, its just what the audience at the place and us online see real time is different.

to answer your question about miyeons rap in my bag,, the answer is no she prefers not to do it live!! there are two reasons! one is that she just genuinely hates rapping 😅😅😭😭 i think she got so frustrated while recording that she shed a few tears lol but im not sure if that’s just rumors or true the second reason is that right after the rap she has to do a breathy belt, and to have enough energy to sing like that you can’t do the super fast rap and then immediately go into your head voice and belt!! i was wondering too so this is what i found in my research!!

hahaha... She already asked the fans to sing that rap part for her in their upcoming world tour. I would swear that her crying in frustration after recording her rapping came from her in an interview, but I cant remember which one, so take my memory with a pinch of salt.
