Спорт

It has been about three years since my gun was repaired by FX USA. Now they have fixed it for the second time. Some advice that could save you the trouble.

    Good story. Air guns are complicated machines and we put a lot of time and money into them. Its really frustrating when you get half assed service when you have a problem. Not all customer service departments are created equal.

    I had the same pleasant experience with FX doing warranty work on a gun I bought second hand. I had no paperwork but they dated the purchase from the serial number of the gun and did the work under warranty at no cost to me.

    Thanks Aaron, glad you still have faith. I hated my mk2(it took 3 to get one that worked) heavy, awkward, garbage trigger and no more accurate than most of my other PCPs (I have 14) started leaking (from who knows where, they have 3 times as many O rings as a "normal" PCP) sold it and don't miss it at all.

    Mine went back 6 times. They refused to return my money and I had to purchase a regulator (huma) to replace the faulty one it came with, out of my own pocket. Nothing like buying a 2000 gun that needs 500 in parts and several days work just to make it function. I hate FX. The gauges were bad the pellet probe was stripped. Worst QC of any company I have ever dealt with.

    I have a FX Dream Tack, no problems yet. The more I read about the Impact the less likely I am to buy one. Not that I was going to anytime soon anyway. There are about $2000 reasons why! I have a Uragan standard that I like except that it is heavy as lead. Shoots great though. I want something lighter with a tank.

    I agree. But I purchased my Mk2 used and the owner had not even put 500 round through it. Even came with eight boxes of .22 slugs. It is still under warranty for a year or so. But I must admit that I would have never purchased another but the price was too good to pass up. Thanks.

    I see a lot of comments here complaining about the quality control of FX air rifles. I thought I would put my 2 cents worth in on the subject. I may be in the minority, I m not sure, but I’ve owned my Impact MKII for almost 2 years and have put several thousand slugs and pellets through it without a single hiccup. No leaks that I know of, fit and finish perfect when I received it and shoots like a laser. Just my experience and have to say I love my Impact! Advice maybe for some, don’t buy an Impact if you don’t like to tinker with you air rifles. Impacts are an excellent choice for tinkers and adjusters. Just my opinion.

    I love boyh my impacts. Very accurate and unique. But I have had seceral problems with my Mk1 and I hope my Mk2 holds up better. As for tinkering I eill never touch my regulator adjustments again. Thanks.

    Hi Arron glad you have had a good experience with FX , I have owned all kinds of PCP guns ard like you all need service or get leaks from time to time I would like to share my experience with FX USA and compare them to other brands , I think since they opened in NC they have always treated me well and with respect , 1 time I had a minor issue with a gun which was sent back under warranty and 1 phone call and I was offered to receive the part or send back gun , I opted to just get the part as I like to work on all my airguns my self and it was over nighted to me ., As for using them for ANY replacement part FX stocks every part I ever needed or wanted to keep in stock for my self , I like the way they operate with service and parts LOU

    I had a bobcat did the same thing think it’s a fx thing when you take the air out it will leak and you have to send it in.to have it fixed and it will cost you ..that was 1st on got a second one same thing happen…..so don’t know how good they are with service but I know it will cost you a cheap gun to fix it..I no longer purchase guns I have 3 and I’m done buying guns

    Seems like a high performance and high maintenance option. How does the impact compare to the p15 and gamo urban in regards to cost for repair and performance?

  • @aaroncantrell8819

    @aaroncantrell8819

    As I have always said if I had known then what I know know I would have purchased three P15 for $1,400 rather than one Impact for $1,900. With the savings I could get a Gamo Urban and a Gauntlet and a good scope. As for maintenance, I have had no problems with my other guns. Thanks for watching.

    Hey Aaron. Do you have any old piece's of wood laying around? Would love to see how much damage the different calibres do to them. As you know here in the UK we're limited to 12ft/lbs, so seeing how your more powerful weapons would smash wood and things would be a lot of fun! Thanks.

    What are your thoughts on installing FX barrel liners into other guns, do you think it would be worth it?

  • @ToreDL87

    @ToreDL87

    2 жыл бұрын

    Check out sub12ft airgunners here on KZread, they do a lot of that! As for myself, the answer is: It depends. With .177 FX is struggling, .177 is kinda tough to get right because it has to be so precise. Some of their .177 barrels don't even print the broadside of a barn (ask Midwest Airgunner who turned in a million barrels before he got a good one). If your stock barrel can make insects disappear at 30 yards: For god's sakes DON'T change a thing, don't adjust a SINGLE screw, don't even clean the barrel unless you're losing practical accuracy. With .22's and up it's different, larger bore is where FX shines, in addition airguns have gotten so popular now. Before we could get away with tacky Lothar Walther barrels, because JSB/H&N/Meister weren't making up tins with a dozen different dies (where they had one or two before). This is simply because the demand for ammo has gone up something crazy. And traditional airgun barrels that were designed with lesser quality control & specifications in mind to shoot mere "pheasant pellets" out of a tin produced from just a few dies isn't working so well with various head & skirt sizes. FX's system of impressed rifling & chokes works well with calibers larger than .177, does less damage on pellet skirts, to the point that JSB & H&N gets away with it. Not only that, but the formulas and designs for 5.5mm+ airgun ammo is rapidly evolving and changing away from old recipes in a bid for higher bc, higher aerodynamic efficiency, better expansion etc. So traditional barrels of caliber larger than .177 barrels are essentially getting more and more crap, while FX has got that bit down to an art. And it's a pretty simple swap if you can get someone to machine a really sturdy sleeve, barrel, probe and retaining nut for you, and with a variety of barrel blanks machined per spec you're turning a short range budget pester into a versatile tool for any feasible range. I like every PCP manufacturer, but every manufacturer has lemons, so curb your expectations.

    The Barrel liners for the Mk2 are a steal compaired to the bsrrels for the Mk1. I paid $500 for a .177 barrel and another $100 for the mag when theyt first came out. So barrel liners are a much better deal for the money. Thanks.

    @@albertojalrab5861 FX has mastered the art of nickle and dime their customers out of even more money. They just tell you that how the gun is set up in no good: The pellet barrel is no good so you need a slug barrel... one regulator in not enough so you need two, pellets are not good so you need to shoot slugs that cost five times more... The plenum that comes on the gun is not enough you need to buy a bigger one. The shroud on your gun is not good so you need a Donny FL. If not falling for their bull shit in living in the ice age then let me build a warm fire for all the smart people who are living in this ice age. For the ice age is no place for dummies who can be convinced to buy anything FX and their minions tells them to. I hope that one day you will wake up, think for your self and join us in ice land. Best of luck.
