@@Official_Baba_yaga we are allowed to have 2 hunting rifles and 1 shotgun under a hunting license, but if you get dedicated sport shooter status you aren't limited, you can even then buy an AR-15 or similar styled rifle as long as it is semi-automatic. If you are the owner of a security company then you are allowed to have fully automatic weapons.

+Lukas Langer Es wird kein Projektil DURCH einen Lauf getrieben. Das ist die Definition einer Waffe in Deutschland. 7,5J Begrenzung ist nur auf Waffen bezogen.

You should check out the Airbow. I don't know how good it is but its' been around a while.

Check out the airrow gun. It’s a 10/22 barrel and shroud that sends an arrow over 400ft per second using .22lr blanks. They’re near me in newtown, ct

i think that if you'd use straight nitrogen or even xenon/argon, either the performance or the capacity would increase greatly

I was thinking this would be a decent replacement for a crossbow. Would this penetrate Kevlar like a crossbow? The power of a crossbow is very desirable and I’m just wondering if this fx crown has a similar penetration.

Put about 300-400 grains of weight on the knock of that arrow and you would have blown through those melons. Momentum is your friend with arrows when it comes to killing/penetrating.

I have another FX arrow gun and the effective range is about 40 yds. due to arrow drop. If FX worked on their valves this concept should be good to maybe 60 yds. or even farther. I took a large mule deer cleanly, but it was just a 15 yd. shot. The broadheads make these more effective than say many big bore airguns shooting slugs in my opinion. The only problem past 30 yds. or so is that the noise can allow game to move. Noise level is about like a .22 short, but less of a crack. If FX got the velocity up to 325 fps. a lot more people would see the potential, but this weapon belongs in rifle or muzzleloading season for those who want the challenge. Penetration on game is not a problem as is, however. Twice as powerful as my recurve bow I have used to kill big bull elk. Typical accuracy is fist size groups at 30 yds. which is pretty darn good. The arrows fly like darts, super straight with no arrow paradox. Very addictive...

This is a really neat idea and I do like it but I can't imagine myself ever using that for hunting. It seems so weak and would probably be an issue putting it on my quads gun rack or walking through the forest in hand. I can see it being good in some hunting situations, just not the type of hunting I would do.

No because it isn't shoved off the string, the air is pushing the arrow from right behind the broad head thus pulling the arrow along.
