Unprecedented heavy rains (a consequence of extreme weather caused by climate change) can take inches off of topsoil in minutes, destroying a farmer’s harvest, threatening their livelihood and impacting the quality of their soil for generations to come. Also impacted are the companies that rely on these farmers to source local ingredients for their products. Unilever is tackling this complex challenge head-on by partnering with Practical Farmers of Iowa to protect and improve soil through regenerative farming practices. @@pratap30 Never trust big corps, mate. Their unstoppable and immoral greed will never allow them to think of other than their growing profits. Nature & planet will never be within their worries.
All is good. Cover crop can protect, source local, etc. But thats not the final solution, its like fire fighting. There have to be some trees around the fields. Its disheartening to see acres and acres for farms without a single tree. I am from a family with some farmer back ground. I understand a 7.5 mins video cannot cover all aspects to #SaveSoil but protecting is just one aspect of it. Grow tree around the fields, move towards tree based farming, make promote and switch to fruit/tree based diets. Saying is easier than doing, I know that. I wish and pray that #SaveSoil movement helps soils and their farmers in a sustainable farming for future generations!
